"To fight and shed blood is not so good. To make money and things is better.
So faced with such an enemy do you:
1) engage him in a race to build infrastructure which he loves to do
or
2) make him fight and shed blood which he loathes to do?"

How long before Bhutan merges with India. They cannot fight China, and India apparently only defends the areas with strategic importance. Anyone think that is possible. Hopefully not too OT for this thread.suryag wrote:As we suspected earlier on this thread they will go for Bhutan, bcowards

Imagine fighting a war in Delhi where the nearest supply depot is in Bangalore thats about 1500 km. Galwan to Chengdu is 1500 km too. What am I missing ?..why the dhoti shiver. 2700 km. You are right..1500 miles as the crow flies to Chengdu and approx. the same distance from Delhi-Kanyakumari.

Has anybody fought a war with a 3000 km logistic tail against a strong adversary before, not including 1962? US has bases all over the world and it's supply chain is much longer spanning continents, but its a far bigger power which fights against small nations usually with power allies on its side....

I think Modi's hand of friendship to Xi was genuine. Chinese aggression in Ladhak was a surprise for Modi, MEA, NSA everyone, more due to its timing - coming after Dokhlam and right in the middle of the Covid pandemic, than the fact that the Chinese would do it. My thinking on why China did this is: It was on behest of Pak to reduce some pressure from the LOC, or more likely China is concerned about India taking back POK and losing their CPEC investments.
