Re: Pakistan Nuclear Proliferation - 04 Feb 2004
Since the North Korea and to some extent Iran horse has already bolted from the stables, one wonders what was the purpose of the whole drama. Obviously musharaff would never imprison the nation's top nuke scientist. It may be a convenient excuse for Pak to not hand over nukes to Saudi Arabia. They c...

I'm still surprised how quickly Xerox khan has moved from being a national hero to being branded a criminal. Its astonishing the amount of control US has over musharaff. It has implications for India. My best guess is that the US is trying to scare all Pak nuclear scientists & especially the ISI...

I still don't understad why musharaff has targetted xerox khan. He is being made the scape goat. I note that xerox was retired (forcefully?) after musharaff came to power. Once musharaff does the job of clearing up n-proliferation and terrorists targeting American interests in Afg, he will be disposed of.

They partly financed Pakistan's nuclear bomb program so you can be certain they got/are expecting something in return for it. However it may well be that the saudis wasted their money. US is now quietly attempting to gain control over Pak's nuclear (proliferation) program through Musharaff. The US i...

Since they are mining the uranium themselves, they can cook the books when it comes to accounting for it. IAEA won't know how much they have mined. Some of it can then be diverted for enrichment (secretly). Or they can do as Japan does and insist that the processed fuel be stationed on their soil. I...

Since its not in Russia's interest that iran aquire nukes either, there must be some behind the scenes cooperation between Russia & US about when to bomb those 2 reactors.

They have plans to mine uranium ore themselves. This means they can process some of it secretly without ever accounting for it to the IAEA. In a documentary, i've seen soviet hind choppers just explode when hit by stingers in afg. They are literally blown out of the sky with only the rotors left spinning in the air. Stingers carry a pretty small warhead.

If Iran gets the bomb, Saudi arabia will want it too. Part of America's motivation for controlling Pak's nuclear program is to prevent Saudi Arabia from having access to the bomb. They better be careful not to open up a pandora's box with this issue. Some regions will be receiving less water as a result of river linking. One problem with the Russian built AK-47 is that its very difficult to lie belly down on the ground and fire accurately because the long ammo clip is a nusiance. You're either forced to crouch and fire or stand up and fire (in which case you get shot dead almost immediately). I've fired it and don't...
