There is another big problem that DRDO is facing, especially the electronics labs in B'lore and H'bad. Considering the work that these labs are doing, tech cos really look for people with that expertise, esp signal processing, communications and knowledge of algorithms. What thats translated to is h...

I tried out the SAR-21 at the Singapore air show, and had to say, was kinda disappointed, although, to be fair, it was the second rifle I tried, after the SLR (havent fired any though, and certainly havent disassembled a rifle). First, the foregrip is kinda flimsy, and shook a bit like a loose tooth...

I am trying to put a few clues together: 1. Sometime back DRDO stating that they are working on reducing the weight of the missiles and that this would yield more compact missiles with lower weight and/or dimensions possibly accompanied with greater range. (the mention of A-3+). My inclination is t...

Well, Shankar did complete the earlier ones. Before he quit, he did inform us that he had some visits comming up and some other commitments. Then at the same time, Vivek's scenario came on the scene. Backgrounds are essential otherwise how do you know where you are headed. See any book by Tom Clanc...

With regards to the discussions in the previous page about the 3 K-15s or 1 Agni-3SL in the 2.3 m diameter launch tube that DRDO has developed, I'm posting the picture that I'd put up in the Missile thread. Post link So assuming that the VLS tubes on the ATV are about 2m wide (to fit the A3), but it...

Sorry it was a false lead. Those are actually Brahmos missile components. Confirmed at Singapore Air Show. Hey thats from Keltec site and Arun Ji had identified it as K-15 :) No... its possible that those may still be K-15 components, since the guy at the Stall did mention that keltec would continu...

Arun saar, Thanks for that... trying it out on ROCKSIM now. will donate the 50 cents later. What are the masses and lengths for the individual stages that you used? also, shouldn't there be some mass fraction compensation for the booster stage? I assumed a first stage burn time of 25 sec, which gave...

It is the government of the day that sets out the policies and the requirements. If the organisation is not doing its function well, then we need to re-organise it and start to recruit the best rather than people on deputation. Thats something I've always wondered. Why is it that we get police offi...

Re: Kaveri status
Any info about this?? Is it even possible to fit the Kaveri. By my understanding, it would be better to put a helo turboshaft engine on the tank.kvraghavaiah wrote: Heavy vehicle version to power arjun tank is not yet started developement or not yet disclosed.

Hmm fair point about the WLR, but iirc its fairly compact as is. Perhaps they want to break it up into a trailer towed by another truck with the power eqpt, and the processing eqpt in another truck. BTW, check mail. got the mail boss.. check urs. More than compactness, the Army is worried about mob...

JC, No word on the MMR or LRTR. They were all keeping their mouths shut on that one. What little info I got, I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to post it on the internet. However, the radars are working great, and are much better than the Greenpines themselves, both in range as well as max. Ve...

Hmm... what was interesting was the sheer number of indian Pvt cos involved in mfring subsystems for radars and comm. systems. I think this is partly due to the level of support that LRDE has given to these companies. Also, WLR will complete its final user trials in May, after which it will be accep...
