wouldnt the missle HAVE to be smokeless for multiple reasons?

1. You dont want to give away your location, spl if you have the BVR advantage, which is exactly what Astra is meant for
2. Smoke ingestion into launch aircraft engines could pose issues AFAIK

All the jets that I have seen emit reddish orange flame when using afterburner but MKI has a blue exhaust plume when using afterburner. My sixth standard science teacher told that blue flame indicates complete combustion and red incomplete. So can it be attributed to better afterburner design of Al...

That was pathetic display . Looked like a pregnant hippo trying to do a ballet. Very laborious and no grace like the MKI or Mig-29 OVT.
