Re: INS Arihant (ATV) News and Discussion -2

Gagan or Krishna, On a plan view of your renderings try to fit in eight circles and see what it does to the shape and size of the platform. Good idea, Ramana. A fleet of 3 SSBNs each armed with 8 K-X missiles would mean a minimum of 16 missiles ready 'on patrol' with another 8 in the third sub can ...

Re: INS Arihant (ATV) News and Discussion -2

Let the Arihant be. There's still trials and the whole lot to be done.

All that I want is a reassurance that the next sub would at a minimum carry 8 K-X missiles. :)

The problem is that you cannot tell the future, and in the future, their interests and your interests may conflict.
But in the case of the US they do conflict - right now! :)

New Delhi, Aug 6 (PTI) On the eve of boundary talks, Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor today said China has no "locus standi" on a key irrigation project in Arunachal Pradesh which it is opposing as the state is integral part of India. Arunachal is integral part of Ind...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

Come to think of it, the French and Russian almost never 'sanction' equipment transfers. You could blame them for price negotiations, jacking up the counter price and other such trivial issues but you'd be hard pressed to find the French or Russian suppliers having to withhold supplies to the extent...

The blogsphere is ripe with rumour. The elusive Kumaran Pathmanaban/KP/Selvarajah Pathmanathan might have been arrested.

Edit: SL Defmin website claims KP taken into custody by Sri Lankan law enforcement authorities. CNN/Reuters also report the same. Apparently picked up in Thailand.

The problem with buying Russian aircrafts is that we're already largely dependent on them to maintain nearly half our fleet of aircraft's. In addition to the 230 Su-30-MKI if we were to buy another 126+60 MRCA then we're stuck to Russia for maintenance and spares issues for 400 of our aircraft's.Tha...

It is a sorry state of affairs that the IA recieves so much flak even on BR!
