The videos have become pretty slick. If you see the landing site video with full music and full screen it looks really good. short and striking.

Re: Chandrayan-2 Mission

Why are they launching at night? Got delayed to monsoon season so can’t really help overcast weather.... It is because of the argument of perigee and the timing needed to have appropriate translunar injection so there are every day certain launch windows and this has to correspond to land on day1 o...

Re: Chandrayan-2 Mission

Lunar days are different from mars day so the battery which is discharged progressively can cause hibernation and later wake up. Problem is a Lunar day is 15 days and between extreme heat and cold so reawakening the rover is the challenge that all Lunar missions face unless there is an RTG

Moderator note - We are losing focus. Let it be clear designing a rocket engine is not the same as designing a jet engine. For eg how many reuses and refiring of a rocket engine versus jet engine is done ? Also mass flow rates, fuel etc are different. So please stay on focus. This is the Kaveri engi...

Development cost has been funded by MoD up to MK1 directly. Not sure if it came from IAF budget or ...

Question, Haridasji: (BTW, thanks!!!) The rocket stages and launcher vehicle seem to be Prithvi derivatives. One thing to remember. What did VKS say - we can do the test with an electronic target and also with an actual target. We have done this with an actual target. As for the former hmmmmm is enough.

In the launch preview, they seem to be downplaying the three orbit concept, they distinctly mention only two, then refer to the PSLV 4th stage more obliquely. Is the 3 orbit mission still on?
