Yeah, without a > 250 mm lens, you can't shoot the moon. Even after a 100% crop it will be really tiny. Praksam the second shot is good but overexposed. First one is definitely overexposed.
Bliss to check histogram always when in doubt. Never trust only the monitor which may or may not be calibrated.
