GSAT-11 I understand. Its nearly 6 tonne but why can't GSLV-III launch GSAT-17? At 3.5 tonne MK-III should be able to launch it easily. Is it because of transponder shortage and we have to launch them fast.

If ISRO is actually working on refueling and repairing satellites in space then the overall weight of the satellites that have to be launched can be bought down. This will give GSLV-II a very long and meaningful life. While GSLV-III can be for extra-planetary and human rated missions.

A good strategy is to give targets or goals to the army. If this week you killed 5 pakis, next week it should be 10 and then 15 ..no draw down or rest. Just keep killing as many as possible. The Su-30 can carry a lot more than 16 100 kg bombs. It can carry 28 FAB-250-270 or 32 OFAB-100-120. That's a lot of firepower for porkis. The difference in total weight of the two missiles is 24-25 tonnes. Maybe more 28 tonnes if A-5 is 50 tonnes. I understand the extra range part.

Yes the all up weight must be 22 tonnes. I am surprized that a missile essentially the same size (0.5 m shorter) is half the weight of A-5 and yet has 5K km range. :rotfl: . Just shows what A-5 is really all about. I was hoping they would test MIRV's on A3/5 soon.

IN will not counter the chinese airccraft carrier with our 3-4 carriers. It will be via Brahmos-A and sub launches ones. I still doubt china's ability to take the carrier more than 200-300 km away from its shore. The so called syria deployment never hapened.
