not laughable at all.. with nuke powered carriers, it is possible. :) Would you like to, instead of one-liner drive by posts, have a serious discussion on C-130s off a carrier? Please do some research, so that there is some clarity: 1. The C130s managed to show carrier take and landing capability o...

2. rajat/O 2a: Blue-water vs expeditionary Perhaps I should have inserted an or instead of a / to make it more explicit. As N. Current US Naval strategy and tactics were born in WWII from Pearl Harbor to the Guadalcanal bug out and not wanting to repeat those mistakes. India's experiences will undoubtedly be different. Why just WWII? Mahan's classical principles predate WWII while the visionary US Code Title 10, 5492, amen...

Re: INS Vikramaditya: News and Discussion
The gripping hand (critical point) is to figure out what purpose the carriers are meant to serve. The USN has an answer, which doesn't necessarily apply to India. Sea control/power projection etc are part of it., but the USN is clearly heavily influenced by principles espoused by Alfred Thayer Maha...

It would seem logical for Pakistan, given its more limited resources, to concentrate what resources it has on precision anti-tank weapons rather than trying to confront India in what looks like a sort of Air-Land Battle. Vikad is supposed to be 24 Ks in air defence configuration or 30 Ks in strike configuration. Hang on, this part is not clear. If the aircraft are by definition "swing-role" why does a weapons loadout change cause such a difference in numbers? Real-world ops don't bear this out as well. ^^...
