Re: Indian Naval Aviation

Yes, it is a new design. However HAL's Naval LCA has shown how to do this and the experience gained from NLCA is very valuable for Twin Engine based navy fighter. I have full faith in HAL to go about this task and show India that it is quite capable of building such fighters for the Indian Navy. Ag...

Re: Indian Naval Aviation

ORCA was an IAF boondoggle to sink the TEDBF. So IN and higher-ups realized fast and decoupled it. The reason is the nation cannot afford three fighter plane programs for IAF: Tejas Mk2. AMCA and ORCA. Makes more sense to order 114 TEDBFm (2x 57) for IN and rotate the squadrons on carriers and stat...

Re: Indian Naval Aviation

All three variants share a common airframe and a common mission system, the differences between naval and land versions being mainly limited to the undercarriage and to the arresting hook . I agree that there is not much we can do but speculate on what really happened. There are only 2 scenarios here Accidental ============= This is the official version, 1. If the missile detonated and destroyed something, fine I don't care 2. If it is not mated with a warhead and did not detonate, I d...

It's not only in the naming, ADA / HAL is also doing themselves a great disservice by sending only the AF single seater to airshows. They should be sending a twin seater AND an NLCA also along with the AF single seater. This way we'll be able to showcase how the LCA program is a comprehensive fight...

Re: Air Force Tejas Mk1: News & Discussions: 02 January 2022

The naming ought not to be focussed on the characteristics of the aircraft, but on its capabilities. 'Light' is a characteristic that doesn't do justice to the capabilities of the platform itself. We sorta continued that trend with AMCA , but ORCA seems more aligned to the capability-based naming. ...

yeah but, please correct me if I'm wrong, the problem now is Rafale is flush with orders close to 150 +and it will take them nearly 7 years to complete those.
