Re: India's R&D in Defence DRDO, PSUs and Private Sector

Why are we shooting at each other now? Couple of points should be self evident: * Anger and disappointment at DRDO was signaled much earlier. Axe was coming. * Until Nov 2014 BJP govt had no problem with Chander. * Sudden dismissal would most likely mean something serious came to light. Age etc are ...

Re: India's R&D in Defence DRDO, PSUs and Private Sector

GoI should own up and apologise to Shri Chander and take disciplinary action against errant official for the DoPT fiasco. Agreed. This should have been done immediately but it looks like GoI was taken by surprise and put on back foot. Not good. The premature posting online is the most damaging and ...

Re: India's R&D in Defence DRDO, PSUs and Private Sector

As much as I dislike the PSUs, I agree that this was a disgraceful way to let someone like Chander go. This may have sent the correct message but the way it was handled doesn't reflect well on the GoI and that is worrying. Going by Modi's past, I find it hard to believe he would stoop to this level....

Brar ji, if you look lower down on that page you will see this: Like the GSP, the GISP is also in effect for almost all of the C-17’s international operators. India, a GSP customer, is the lone exception. If GISP is handled by USAF, I don't think IAF is ready to have them hanging around in our bases.

Both India and US have certainly gamed the issue of C-17 and C-130 and have a high level of comfort that nothing of the sort is likely to happen.
