Re: MRCA News and Discussion

Something interesting from the Eurofighter house in Aroor's blog; citation:
==Survivability can be achieved by means other than stealthiness. ==
- I can only repeat: it's just what I always say, when speaking about MiG-35 :)

Re: Small Arms Thread

And the requirement for 7.62x51 instead of 7.62x39 is something to note. This clearely states that the rifle is only for specialist roles. Cannot agree with you more: I think too, it can be only something for very special purposes, since 7.62x39 weapons work excellent after water, and broadly used ...

This is an RFI for normal rifle disguised to look like something special. The pic is incorrect, it represents altogether different kind of weapon I wonder how it can be a 'normal 7.62 x 51 mm assault rifle' while IA is standardized on 5.56 mm in mass? I guess 7.62 callibur is better suited for wate...

Igorr, what is latest development in the field of Russian APFSDS? No reliable information due to the secrecy of the issue. Only contradicting rumors. In general, the long rod APFSDS are developed, but needed an autoloader upgrade, while the last batches of T-90A are still without. Another rumor: th...

Some interesting facts :: We have created a composite snap-in: it does not snap out of invarovyh metal alloys, which the West is very expensive. Invarovyh of Why? Re: PAK-FA Thread - First flight

Flateric reports that each bay is designed to hold "at least two" missiles and that the outer bays are designed for short-range AAMs. The centerline bays could each hold two large weapons (like R-33s) or three-to-four of the newly announced RVV-MD. The latter has folding wings, as does th...

We are yet to come across pics showing the internal weapons bay so can't comment on it. This is a scaled picture of PAKFA in comparison with YF-23, F-22 and JSF. Re: PAK-FA Thread - First flight

the very fact that Russians have incorporated substantial RCS reducing features into PAKFA airframe is an indicator of the importance of having lower RCS . . The most RCS reduction on F22 is made by covering. 'Stealth geometry' allowed for 'naked' F-22's only 0,3 m2 RCS, the remained reduction (som...

Re: Armoured Vehicles Discussion Thread

thanks Igorr, any idea what is the capacity of the aft storage for apfsds rounds? the old storage below the floor is said to be 39 rounds. 1. The new larger turret houses a larger auto loader (I think by additional you meant a newer/larger ? ) - The new auto-loader is able to use both from the old storage in the hull (remained in its place but doesn't obligately be fulfilled), and the new aft auto-loaded storage. Only the aft storage ...
