I agree with shukla on this one.
The scrapping of the BMS Project will be a shame. Time to let the grunt call the shots.
After the 155 art guns this should have top most priority.

the physical dimensions of the LCA as originally specked by the IAF were such that they could fit in the existing hardened structures that were built for the Migs The SEF candidates are larger than the LCA or Mig 21's so there will be additional costs when they join our forces as far as ground struc...

AMCA is coming in two variants a stealthy version with no external hard points, and a semi stealthy with external ordinance.
So part of what is being wished for is already being planned. I cannot post a link as I do not remember where I read it.

You need a copper band as it is softer than steel and will reduce barrel wear. I would expect this band to be shrink fitted on the steel shell. to prevent galvenic corrosion. the shell could be machined with a groove, which is then filled with a compound like Belzona which is hard and inert. The bel...

There is an advantage to the single engine fighter deal , namely when the AMCA comes on line we have some sort of infrastrutcure and technical hands so that a private line can be launched alongside HAL line, Hopefully that is written somewhere in the contract if and when it is signed.
