Thanks Singha , yes even Bulava seems to have a spheroconical nose so I guess at some point of time it might be using aerospike , a 50 % drag reduction is amazing achievement for an aerospike.

Why are aerospike deployed ?Gerard wrote:Quite interesting. The aerospike deploys as the missile clears the water. There appears to be a wall of bubbles being produced from the base of the nose cone.
Why do some slbm have it and some dont feel the need to ( i.e Trident , Bulava ) ?
Thanks

I dont think its a good idea to have a silo based system in the 21st century , specially when we have a small nuclear force.
It should be 50 % Rail Mobile and 50 % Road Mobile for our Land Forces , the least vulnerable and one that provided maximum mobility is rail mobile system

Present destroyers, which can accommodate brahmos can take these toys as well with some modifications (VLS is ideal). Thats a PSed thinge because even the single engine Mig 5th gen A/C had twin angled outward vertical stabliser.
Oh i just forgot that the Mig 5th gen proposal (LFI 2000 ) which lost out to Sukhoi PAK-FA was heavily based on the Soviet 5th Gen Mig-1.42 , so its possible they looks pretty similar.
