Generally and speaking from the olden days. A squadron consisted of 4 wings or 4 flights. each of those consisting of 4 active non-trainer a/c type. There were definitely and usually 2 a/c of the trainer type. Attrition replacements were held at a command level. So what the good admiral is saying.....

During Operation Vajrashakti in Sept 87 to defend Bilafondla in Siachen, the 130MM guns were working overtime from Siachen Base Camp.

One of the 130MM guns barrel burst killing the gun crew. The gun commander was awarded a Vir Chakra (P).

Bofors guns were/are deployed at Siachen Base Camp. Same for 130 MM guns. I have not heard/read of them being deployed in the Siachen Glacier.

I have heard/read of LFGs and Mortars being deployed in Siachen Glacier.

This article says the army has converted the 10th Inf Div in Akhnoor to a RAPID division. That would be under XVI Corps.

rajfortyfive has reached the same conclusions as us - focus on finger 4 as the area of video and focus on finger 6 as the area of Chinese force concentration (surface search radar, boats etc).

Finger 6 area has something written in chinese on the hill, above the boat jetty. Enclosed in a white boundary with a dozen white boxes.

Or am i mistaken? There seems to be heavy chinese presence around Finger 6.
