My personal feeling is this is not correct news, the new Netra's will come on A319/A320/A321 platform - this is in the works for a few years, not out of production EM 145 Airbus is for Mk-2. Ground work started for 6 Netra Mark-1 || 6 Netra Mark-II AEW&C will be delivered by 2028 -IMtGd5xs0o

These are projects going on in parallel rather than in sequential order which is good. There is nothing unusual about it as we have many building blocks already in place, and have enough trained manpower for the task.

It does not matter how many bids (by vendors) are received in case of a 2-bid tender. If there was no tender, there is no necessity for 2-bids. I think the purchase is through G2G, so it will be different. IIRC, it was during ABV's time that the concept of L1 bid and tendering process began for defe...

Minor hiccups can be expected for the Mk1As, that would not be surprising. It happened with FOC also. Once stabilized, it should be smooth as was the case with the Sukhoi production. My guess is that we will have 24/yr production rate. The price of the earlier 83 a/c was 6.5 B USD and for 100 it would be close to 7.83B - 8B (round off?). This might just be an acknowledgement that the Mk2 will take more time. Plus there could be more Rafales (hopefully) to augment the strength, w...

No sir. Gripen C is similar to the Tejas Mk1 with F404. Gripen E with Tejas Mk2. There was a model of Gripen that had F414 in the original Gripen (JAS 39). This a/c, called Gripen Demo, flew in 2009 and achieved supercruise. Here is the link.

Performance of Mk1 can be inferred from Gripen C and development time may also be similar to that of Gripen-E. Could be faster, but one shouldn't be shocked if it turns out to be similar. I always liked the original proposal from HAL, to plugin GE-F414 in place of the F404. It would have given addit...

Years ago there was excitement over the possibility, but then it died quickly. I do not know what makes INS6 different. Could be related to FADEC, not sure at all but would love to know.
