One of the things this test has made (without us having to even wait for the successful deployment of this tech) is that it has made the entire missile and nuclear proliferation cycle between TSP-China-North Korea come a full circle and put a lid on it. Even an alleged Packee or Chinese ABM test wil...

I hope that DDM doesn't start on a fully functional and reliable ABM being too ambitious and costly and that DRDO must collaborate with foreign organizations on this. Thats the last thing we need. I hope that DDM does not start on that too Too late. Shekhar Gupta and his IE have already jumped on t...

Right. Now will someone please do us a favor and lob a nice multi-megaton nuke carrying IRBM/ICBM on India so we can see whether DRDO is really competent or not.Miles to go
The missile system has to be tested in battle conditions.
Lifafagiri is one thing, but this is just insane.

Well, talking about Shiv Aroor, he's begging to current NPOL employees on Orkut to give him information like shiv: hi manoj, just wanted to know -- what makes NPOL a better lab than the other DRDO labs? how come it attracts more talent and has better retention than other labs? can you give me an ide...

How can one be barbaric towards barbarians and then turn around and be civilized towards civilized people? Let's look at it from a practical standpoint. You are the CO of a unit that has captured Pak PoWs. You allow or actively instigate your men to torture. The soldiers have learnt what is expecte...

China always has the option to extend the Beg paradigm one step further. They can say to the US... if the Indians nuke us, we will nuke YOU. ... 3) Finally, they could go along with the Chinese, and decide that the best thing to do would be for both the US and China to nuke India immediately and de...

dnirody, KS is doing quite a bit of pro-US batting recently. Re-read his article with that at the back of the mind, and the effect is completely different. Johann, Al-Qaeda does not exist. It is as existent at the ether. One can allude to an ideology that lots of people in certain countries subscrib...

Ramana, I do not think there is anything to be read in the timing of the release of Gen. Malik's book. It could very well be that all the work was done, and the publication was given the go ahead. However, my question - is why did Gen Malik. write the book in the first place! Does he have scores to ...

I have always wondered about why during Kargil we needed to send men straight up the steep hills to fight. We could have just waited for the snow to fall and bomb the base camps of the Paki intruders and hurt their supply lines. Well, the snow and winter doesn't respect the LoC either, so if the we...

One of the most catastrophic events of the second millenia would be the very short and quick routing of the mammoth Maratha army led by the inexperienced Shadashivraubhau in the third Battle of Panipat at the hands of Ahmad Shah Durrani (Abdali). Technically it could be considered a stalemate since ...
