Re: Indo-UK News & Discussion 9th Aug 2011
This guy should be killed(assassinated is too big a word for people like him) immediately. I really don't understand how the British are enduring such nonsense for so long now.

@sudip: thanks dude, i work for HAL and have to put up with various languages as such(software and real life).
I'll definitely try out the ideas you suggested the NGO thing sounds good and so does cooking. The mijjile maalish thing is also worth a try perhaps
thanks again

Re: LCA News and Discussions
The NP-1 has a separate team and is in no way related to the AF team(on HAL's side). Infact each A/C has its own team of flight test engineers and my ex roomie works on the NP-1 and he has been busy ever since the roll out. I am not sure about the ADA guys but i believe they have a separate team too...

Thanks everyone, i have learnt Russian and i also do some hobby flying and i feel my situation is not as depressing as it sounds perhaps. The only problem is that i have suddenly become very lonely and have found refuge in beer and all this happened very fast (my parents do not know i drink and all)...

Re: Personal Health, Nutrition and Fitness Thread
my story is like this, we all joined as design trainees 3 years ago and 4 of us stayed together. two years later we split and i moved into a flat with my school mates and it was so much fun living next to the runway, but one guy got married last year and from then on its just the two of us (me and m...

Re: Personal Health, Nutrition and Fitness Thread
work has never been stressful, infact those 8-10 hrs are the only interesting hours of my day, it is the boredom after work thats driving me mad. hence my life has been BR & beer for quite some time now and the combination is fantastic i must say.

^^^ Are you sure???? 1 pitcher = 5 pints 1 pint = 470ml saaar, the usual bangalore pitcher is about 1500 ml and that 2 pitcher figure is the max i consume(because of the crazy 1+1 offers here). And i was just a weekend drinker till very recently, only these days it's become a tri-weekly aff...

I throw up everytime i drink and that too the the next morning and its a very sour yellow substance. I had been to HAL hospital and they said its acute gastritis. The design has been frozen, almost all drawings are ready and part of the new rotor has already been ground tested. This apart, i currently...

Re: LCH and other Helicopters Discussion Thread
Is there any Heli Production line in HAL and how many HAL can produce in a year? One huge manufacturing division, a very decent R&D centre with excellent facilities for ground testing and flight testing. The total no of Helicopters produced are around 40(ch/ck included) else it would be around ...

Re: Raffy wins - Go Katrina!
Great news! The Rafale was my personal choice too and so was it for many of my mates. And coming to the production of these birds, i don't see any worthy manufacturer in India and maybe to some extent in asia who can be considered able ahead of HAL.
Cheers.

My dad had a Maruti 800 and my uncle bought an accent and we all felt the 800 was terribly under-powered and later when i bought a punto 1.4 i felt the accent was nowhere near the punto be it the Blue & me or the other gizmos. The accent uncle later bought a cruze and my dad now feels the punto...

The Tejas Mk 1 is underpowered. Which is why the Tejas Mk 2 with major structural changes is required to be developed. The lack of power issue with the Mk 1 cannot be solved with time alone, a new airframe capable of housing a bigger engine is required. i remember, quite some time back, it was tabo...

Re: LCA News and Discussions
@Raghuk Not sure whether you are the correct person to ask this question but why is this hurry among DRDO/ADA/HAL folks to leak out dates via blogs/media only to be proved otherwise? In case of LCA this has happened so many times that such comments regarding the timelines of LSP6-7/NP-1 sounds ridi...

Hi people, The NP-1 is currently undergoing EGRs and is expected to fly by the end of Feb, the LSP-7 is in a similar state but may fly slightly earlier, so Feb will be the merry month for all the jingos. HAL is said to be cooking a scheme where they rename the Tejas as Rafoon and sell it to EADS who will again give it a swedish name and pretend its a European joint development and market it in Brazil/Oman/Qatar/UAE etc as a more modern and economic alternative. Cent per cent true, you can take even ...

Hi people, it was neither the LSP-7 nor the NP-1, i had seen a PV-3, LSP-2 and an LSP-5 parked on tarmac, so should've been one of those aircrafts.

Raghu ji, I have not seen a pic of TD2 with the modified armament boom. I remember discussing this Hari Nair sir. It was running late and was supposed to be fitted in by mid of 2011. Was supposed to be an aerofoil for lower drag instead of the stealthy version that you have seen on TD1/TD2 till now...

And what about the changes in the stubbed wings of the second prototype? TD-2 has undergone a lot of changes, infact it is way different from the TD-1(even TD-1 has changed from its AI-11 avatar though) both visually and internally (i personally feel its become fugly). From the modified armament bo...
