Just as a FYI. The latest issue of AWST has a nice, but short, article on netwroking sensors for real-time sharing of info among various participants in a war.

Re: Sensor capabilities of IAF aircraft

In a slide show presented in Aug, 01, Dr. Carlo Kopp of Australia had this to say about the NIIP N-011M Phased Array (for the MKI) The NIIP N-011M is currently in advanced development for use on the Indian Su-30MKI. It is a passive phase shifter technology phased array, with an aperture of close to ...

That sounds absolutely strange to me....why would we not excercise with forces with whom we have at least common equipment with? Add to the above list: I would prefer to excercise with those who have diff equipment than I do. Regarding Amrikan jumping of An-32s, well, well, Deshi Bhai do not have f...

Bir, Welcome. You are right that the tech was stolen from teh germans, in afct, if one were to read some books they state that the US made an extraordinary attempt to get to such techs that were in the Russian zones, before the Russians could get to them. However, the issue is which of the technolog...

Re: India's missile defence - Arrow vs. S-300

The new laser defenses target incoming missiles in boost phase, not the booster. The size of the booster is huge and in one piece (i.e., MIRVs have not separated) so easier to detect. If the booster engines are destroyed then it is very unlikely that much of the warhead will survive. Only risk here...

More as a FYI, this article deals with the History of Russian ABM System and makes no mention of the 300 at all. George J: I m confused now. If India bought the T-90S at $1.02M a piece. How does the REAL cost of T-90S become $2.5M? Why is $1.02M not considered a REAL price? I didnt think we were getting any concessions from the russians. $800 Million for 310 tanks, makes it approx 2.58/T-90. I would expect mo...
