Re: MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16 in Kashmir
I dont think this IAF not confident in R77 is true, then IAF would not have ordered soo many SU30 or upgraded MiG 29, Mig 21 to fire R77 or IN would have ordered INS VikramAditya plus Mig 29K. Plus M2000 upgradedversions also didnt fire MICA. Simple reason ROE, once Amraam were fired Su30 had to sp...

As Air Marshal Nohwar statement makes it clear that all the PAF fleet up there was out to take a Su-30MKI .....which they considered a prizes asset to take out hence the F-16's up there fired number of maximum AMRAAM at Su-30 MKI while MKI had to take defensive measures. Singha , The 105 mm from Khan was a limited buy for mountain ops , Hopefully we will see mass scale of Indian made 105 mm design.
My point was more towards you wont see any kind of 155 mm standardisation replacing even the 105 mm LH .

It is clear now that the range increase to 500 + km is being achieved via increase in speed from M 2.8 to 4.5
So a roughly 40 % increase in speed should translate to 40 % increase in range from 400 to 550 km ?
