Re: Camera and Photography Thread -III
Swamyji, congrats on the new acquisition. Enjoy! :) I know jack about flashes  and I don't even own an external flash, but I believe the way to illuminate subjects evenly with flash is to use a diffuser on the flash gun, and/or to bounce the light off the ceiling. You'll need an external f...

haze problem saar ? any free photo processing S/W will do, the above was shot behind glass panes in rain and haze with the cheapest Canon 55-255 lens. Ashampoo photo optimizer rescued it to this. I did use PS on this, but didnt like the output, so I had to do 2 pass, used Nikon NX and then Neat ima...

Purushji,
Thanks, I need to make some more adjustments to the pics, the balloons were flying right on to the sun, so I shot with high f point, so the pics are grainy,
Also, B+W filter is $61 and decent Hoyas are around $35, B+W are supposed to be better.

I dont think Shiv Aroor will draw the exact picture of Arihant. There is a reason why GoI is guarding it and Shiv will not risk his career for this, so I will take his drwg with a bag of salt. I know all of us want to see it, but we can only see it when they want us to see, until then we can draw a ...

And do I really need a filter rightway? It looks like the filter (80 bucks) might be saving the lens (640 bucks) from scratches ithyadi. $80 for UV filter?? What is it, a B+W with MRC? B+W are expensive, but I heard good things about them. Ive got a warming filter from them and it seems good and no...

Javee: I don't know what my style is  . I have a Canon S1 IS that SHQ dropped from 20+ feet and still works well. Re: Camera and Photography Thread -III
IMO, you just need a decent body to start with, a Nikon D40 is good enough for most amateurs. Or may be Sony Alpha series (they got VR in the body). Choose lens wisely and spend money on it. You can get a fixed 50mm lens and an all purpose lens like 18-200mm, if thats not your style then you can get...
