Mirage had indeed influenced a lot of design for Tejas (LCA), and its variants. I am seeing a similar influence of inlet design for Indian MWF-4 (Mirage 4000ish) from Rafale. OT, but functionally relevant on Sandeep Unnithan's article above^^^.

Converting MKI to Super 30 will not avoid an AMRAAM, but focusing on purely stealth skins, towed decoys and reducing RCS will. It applies to Tejas/AMCA too.

Is it going from 5 engines to 2 engines or from 4 engines to 2 engines for fine-braking?

q: why shut off 2 or three engines? why can't just adjust the throttle of all 5 firing !? [I read all 5 of them are throttleable - of course the minimum thrust to weight must have been known already.]
