Can we use tube artillery in Siachen? if yes does IA use any? If not 155mm we should atlease have 105mm field guns and heavy mortars. Also couple of cruise missiles would be of excellent PR value.

First Pinaka Regiment in 2000? Where did you get that from? IIRC, IA was to induct 2 regiments (which it has) worth in 2007-2012 Defense Plan and further couple of regiments worth (the number slips me) in next 5-year defence plan. In LR-SAM (based on DRDO's slide reported by Shiv) if Israeli contribution is only the Seeker (India had already bought the MF-STAR) radar to be fitted on its frontline ships like P15A destroyers etc, why are calling it a JV and not just as a tech purchase/TOT from Yehudis. Wonder if anyone studied the economic impact of Op Parakram on both sides ? Should have done a good deal of damage to puki economy without firing a single bullet. I don't think Op Parakram was benign, Pakis reported a good number of casualties during that period in that sector in their martyrs page...

i smell a rat with this cable from Dawn... Chindu has not reported such a cable. i don't remember seeing anything of this much detail. Also quoting MMS like a bosom buddy appears fishy, if true shows MMS in very very poor light.
