Re: Naval Tejas Mk1: News & Discussion - 03 January 2020

Levcons indeed help with L/D at high AoA. @Rishi, that graph was a from the following paper https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Aircraft-Performance-Improvements-A-Practical-Jebakumar/d73ea1324ae9e8b212010d80a9ab656194f0ea16 . Is it far to say that HTFE and HTSE 1200 are the results of manufacturing the Adour and the Shakti engines respectively. I hope they also build an HTPE (Hindustan Turbo Prop Engine) based on their learning of producing the Garrett engines.

Don't know. But when they say "Endurance:1000 secs", and engine starting capability at 0.4-0.8M, it points at an ALCM with a range of about 300 km range. Expect a weight of about ~500 kgs

The final configuration of Helina/Dhruvastra is now clear to me. The sustainer lies ahead of the booster. The Booster uses a blast tube and fixed nozzle+JVC at the back. The sustainer uses 2 lateral nozzles. 40 such missiles are being prepared. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E9AxZV3VcAAavi7?format=jpg&...

CDG has more parking space, but that is at the cost of a runway and taxi-space. So can it maintain the same tempo of operations as Vikrant? For example, a jet can't take off while a heli is preparing for take off. Two successive jet launches have to wait for the CATOBAR to reset. On Vikrant you lin...

Two more are going back to ITR. I expect them to be armed versions. SJha also indicating something to the same effect?

I think Panchi is also getting revived. Tender for 3-bladed constant-pitch propeller. Most likely to be integrated with the 65 HP Wankel engine.
