Question for Hari or Raghu...when I used to go through Janes back in 2002-2003 time frame, it was mentioned that HAL intends to reduce ALH weight to around 2200 Kg from existing 2500 Kg. Any progress on this?

Let me provide an answer which may be partly correct. I haven't seen the video you mentioned, so really can't comment on the type of material used on A5's heat shield. However if its similar to the heat shield used on NASA's Space Shuttle, the material is basically foam...doesn't have the mech prope...

I think WDG5 is based on different design with increased driver comfort and first Indian loco to comply with crash regulations. There is a pic of the loco on IRFCA website gallery section (supposed to be removed in a few days though). Loco is not a dual cab like Chinese version...single cab. Very lo...

Singha, thanks for response. I will check the shoes you have recommended this weekend. 2160 looks solid... Gakakkad, I did consult Orthopedic surgeon back when this problem started. X-rays were taken & things were normal of course and he prescribed some exercises to track the patella optimally. ...

Folks, need some suggestions on running shoes. I have a slight sports injury on right knee (runners knee). I can do brisk walking without any discomfort. I do some exercises to mitigate the injury again intermittently. I wanna take up running again...very light (about < 3k/day...3-4 days a week). I ...

Of course like any other airport in the country, you have autowalas and taxi walas pouncing on you the moment you walk out with your luggage, but the BMTC service is excellent. There are dedicated bus bays and dedicated BMTC people telling you what bus to take to where. ++1, BMTC Volvo is a god sen...

Congrats for participating in a marathon. Running is very addictive. My onlee suggestion and you probably know this as well is to do good stretching exercises before & after your running session. I hurt my knee this way around two years ago...

Emirates has possibly one of the best range of fleets. Back in 09, I did JFK-BLR-JFK (changed planes at DXB). As Singha pointed out BLR-DXB was on A330-200 and flight was short but flight didn't feature Emirate's excellent ICE (they had a stripped down version which was horrible). DXB-JFK was 15 hou...

From what I understand, in airplanes with tricycle landing gear configuration, nose landing is avoided as plane can trip forward. The plane lands on MLG until it slows down to speeds which are safe enough for nose wheel touch down. probably the only exception of beefier NLG might be with carrier bas...

Folks,
I bought a business pass at SBI Jay 2nd block branch. No credit accepted and long line. Whole process took almost 2hrs. Anyway, I was wondering if we could compile list of questions that could be asked about various products.
Is navy displaying its 29K at the airshow?
Regards,
