Re: Indian Missile Technology Discussion
To all fanboys of Brahmos, a point to ponder. All Land/Ship launched version is 3000 kg in weight and achieves a range of 290 km. It was hoped that when Brahmos was deployed on a MKI, its range perhaps would get a little (or more than a little) lift. So what did the Ruskies do to keep their export(J...

India, Russia to develop air-launched BrahMos
India, Russia to develop air-launched BrahMos
The IAF version of BrahMos will be lighter than the Naval version which weighs three tonnes. But the range will be the same. The IAF version will have an improved booster and a modified nose cap.

Saar allow me to present my case. 1. Our jurnos ask "Deemag Ki batti jala de" questions. Was this completely made in India? Designed, fabricated and executed in India? And by Indian scientists? So this is not a Russian design? Indian design, made in India, by Indians? I am told it is about...

There is no need for flypasts or acts of intimidation Saar some clarification. 1. Gets too boring talking of China day in and day out. 2. One of the astonishing aspect of the ATV project launch is that no one talks of the other capability(SSGN) that it reflects. Granted, boomers are our primary goal. IMHO The only feasible non-escalatory answer to the range question of conventional delivery systems is to go for Nirbhay on SSGN operating in the south china sea. Let the beast stay in our pond during peace times.

Rao saar, my suggestion was only in the case of Chinese getting a toe hold in the IOR region and starting active patrol. It wouldn't be neighborly if we did not return the favour.
Ofcourse, we should first secure our pond and have a plan of action for all entry and exit points.

Vasu saar, if you are referring to conventional warhead, a salvo of Nirbhay would be a better option.
Reason being,
1. Cost
2. The enemy would assume nuclear launch if they detect A3

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the flight trials which are beginning soon, all equipment aboard the aircraft will be evaluated as well.
