What is interesting is that first Mk1A squadron will not be raised at Sulur AFS to iron out ‘issues’. I think the platform has matured and ready for front line duty (in spite of the Mk1A having decent amount of new stuff over FOC/IOC jets).

Santosh ji, it's not just the muslim vote, but everone who had a beef with BJP, and TRS went with congress. Even the erstwhile TDP voters who slowly got into TRS votebank because of KTR's 'IT Development' image voted congress this time because of the resulting high drama from the arrest of CB Naidu...

Pappu will contest from K'taka or Telangana Both States are tough. KA can still return 25+ (out of 28) for BJP. Last time also con had won the state and BJP LS. BJP doing better in LS from Kar is a long term trend now. Telangana - North, BJP will trounce him, and south with very less minority vote,...

Any RoP vote splintering helps BJP, but any additional to the congress may not be of much help. It can only help them against non BJP regional parties (that are anti-BJP anyways and in the opposition camp). There is a bigger game Chetak sir, and it would pay to figure out that. I don't believe it is...

SU30MKI with say 200-400 KM range standoff weapon is a very superb in breaking -the-door mission. In fact it is very stealth plane at that point. Many targets cannot see it and that can see cannot do much about it, except track the standoff weapon coming their way.

Let me be the first to post we are a 4 trillion economy as of today (nominal). Number 4th and 3rd are in very striking distance.
While our economy grows theirs is at best stable or at worst shrinking. Most likely we will cross them way before projected data, perhaps by 2025.

Why not lca mk1a? The 40 th plane that will have uttam is at least 3-4 years away, enough time to qualify a gan based arsa for it. Let’s skip a generation by moving to gan based uttam. GaAs based uttam is so passé. Why? Because we can. Unlike west we have not yet negated very high on gaAs based infr...

The original M46 had a problem with elevation - I think it has a max elevation of only 45 degrees or so. Not sure if Sharang upgrade has fixed it or if it retains this issue. This would create problems in mountainous regions where you need to clear high ridge lines and hit the leeward side. you kno...

I am also saying the same. There could be 1-2 squadron with just 2 seaters for conversion plus lift training. We have 18 LCA 2 seater on order, we may need another 20-40 (if all our rookies get additional LIFT training then 40) double seaters.

We have 1000 off M-46 guns in service. It costs peanuts (1-2 cr. each) to upgrade them to 155/45. The last report said,it costs 70 lakh per gun, peanuts really. We can have 1000 M-46 converted (what will you do with M-46 ammo stockpile, I guess we will keep decent amount of M-46) for 700 carores, o...

The catch is that, pilots transitioning to F-22 or F-35 (or in our case Tejas MK1), already have 1000s of hours on other aircraft. They are experienced. They can pick thing in simulator. At some point, Tejas MK1 will be our entry plane (after say Mig 21, Jags and m2k,m29 are retired). There just a f...

There is also a trainer manufacturing facility with some 3 or 4 planes a year. Maybe that will be churning these planes.
