Thanks for those great pictures of the war museum. The museum seems to have a surprisingly large number of interesting armour and field exhibits. but the condition of them is a bit depressing. Anyway hope they are able to bring them up to shape.

Lohegaon has only one usable runway. The second cross runway has been in disuse for years - remember the parked Su-30Ks that were there for half a dozen years. they were all at one end of the disused runway

But the pilots were putting on a show for the photographers - by retracting the u/c at low level.. not normal sop. (read that bit on airliners)

Never seen MiG-29Ks with drop tanks along with the standard centre line APU. the first Sukhoi loss was due to Human Error. The pilot switched off the FBW trying to switch off something else and the ac went out of control. There was a report that went into the causes etc at that time. The 'fix' would have been to make switching off the FBW in flight impossible or difficult - ...
