The 2013 Daulat Beg Oldi Incident had been a wake-up call for the Army HQ. In reviewing the preparations for the DGMO, Lt. Gen. HPS Randhawa (retd.), had laughed out aloud when a XIV Corps Staff officer had repeated the Indian politician's standard party-line, "we will not give up an inch of ou...

If I was IA, I'd ask ARDE to develop MCIWS/AAR in 7.62 NATO, then throw open the design to all small arms makers to determine who can come up with the most reliable and cost effective implementation... Also why did SIG make two versions of the same rifle with 2 different actions? Seems very unusual. #1 Cost. The G2 Patrol is at least $600 more expensive than the 716i version. #2 Weight. The G2 Patrol is about 0.5kg heavier than the 716i version. For the average American hunter, if he has to spend...

If anyone can point to earlier APC requirements in the army, I would be grateful. In 1960s and 70s, APCs were the sole requirement for the Indian mechanized battalions. In an R&S tracked battalion, the BFSR and NAMICAs (and BMPs) work as a single team. The Nag missiles are meant to be launched after the enemy armored column is spotted by the BFSR, and the BMPs have taken position to channel the enemy towards own armor/ambush location.

The IL-76s were barely able to take off from Chandigarh with stripped-down T-72s, so I'm curious if they have up-engined the IL-76s to lift heavier T90s or they are transporting major components separately?
