We keep hearing about how FCI has massive stocks and its a dead-end storage and doesn't really do anything. With wheat prices going up due to the Russian nonsense, could FCI sell some of their stocks in the open market? Esp given the above news that we'll have record production of grains this year? ...

All that prospect is only if these companies can enable the DPSU to produce worthwhile products on par with what private companies can. How would a small company get that to happen? That is a solid risk.

All cash-flow related help can come later. First place orders. Companies and banks will find a way to figure things out and govt can be on-hand and aid companies getting funding to kickstart production. Without orders, everything else is immaterial.

If things move along and firm up, there are a lot of companies who would love to get a piece of the pie. LANCO is just one example. We could use a nuke power plant for it and call it sustainable. Coal was just a placeholder for non-polluting source of power. Could be anything to sweeten the deal. An...

Mortji,
That is precisely what happened with the radar program. DRDO was able to get a few components from macom initially but were ITAR'd when they asked for bulk procurement for serial production.

We have LANCO that makes poly for solar cells. So it isn't a stretch to say that we can make bulk poly silicon with the idea that bulk production for domestic fabs as well as domestic production of solar cells will make it economically feasible. And if we run it using partly-renewable power, we coul...

The IAF needs both. Mk2 & AMCA. There's no either or. IAF can't afford an entirely AMCA fleet for the future as it's lower end. The Mk2 is a Mirage2000 equivalent. That's not a light medium fighter. We need 120 Mk2 & 120 AMCA. Plus the Mk1 & 1As. AMCA timelines are suggestive. We need a ...

Curious as to why you ascribe the lack of a firing solution to the radar? Very unusual. As to the Su30 upgrade - it needs to start by 2024, Uttam won’t be a mature product at that time, so not available. - fleet upgrade will take a decade or so, so Uttam could make it to the later aircraft to be up...
