Re: Endgame of NaPakistan: How and what afterwards
So how long will this contradiction of Arabised Turks last as Taliban? Are the jihadi Abduls and rabble rousing Mullahs so nuanced in their thinking ? I wonder. We never see any any analysis of the tracts and texts distributed by radical islamic groups, Urdu media is in a world of its own. The fact...

An excellent feature by French newspaper Lemonde depicting where over a 100 countries are today wrt "flattening the bell curve". Updated daily. Its in French but the graphs are self explanatory and very informative to see and follow. https://www.lemonde.fr/les-decodeurs/article/2020/03/27/...

Re: Endgame of NaPakistan: How and what afterwards
So Afghan stability is needed to be hammer and anvil in turns to fracture Pakistan. Ramana garu, agree. But those were different times with different stakes, ambitions and means for us and the invaders. Islamic mindset is the only constant, you are likely referring to that. I'm trying to figure out...

what we have to do is reduce them to a size that they can't cause us significant damage..a reduced punjab state with water dpeendency on india is a good option.. Assuming for a moment that this is achievable, how do you propose we can do it, without creating multiple vipers instead of one big snake...

My predictions for 2021-22 timeframe + Most western countries and other developed countries who can afford it, will take a hard look at re-insourcing vital/strategic items manufacturing starting with medicines, medical equipment, chemical reagents and other weak link items + Supply chain dependenci...

Re: Endgame of NaPakistan: How and what afterwards
No where did I suggest inaction or downplaying of the nuisance value at best or suicidal harm at worst that our neighbour can bring to us. In today's world, redrawing borders, toppling over structures that run a country will generate consequences that are very unpredictable and very tough to deal wi...

It seems like great news that many companies with NO prior experience in manufacturing medical equipment are racing to produce ventilators in response to the current pandemic crisis. The science & medical procedures behind ventilation seem to be fairly complex and any improvisation or inadverten...

Re: Endgame of NaPakistan: How and what afterwards
Celebrating the distress and disarray of our inherently unstable next door neighbour is unwise IMHO. When the neighbour's house burns, the flames will inevitably lick us to some extent. The best we can hope for in the short terms is a weakened Pak to lay low and struggle with its problems and hopefu...

CT theories about migrant workers moving en masse in Delhi and Kerala aside, the same problem is present in other areas of India too, which is covered better by regional press. https://www.deccanchronicle.com/nation/current-affairs/290320/migrant-groups-stuck-in-hyderabad.html https://s3.ap-southeas...

Spoke to my cousin who heads internal medicine in a big regional hospital in Buffalo, NY. He says there could be around 10,000 cases in his region alone, health dept figures are grossly underestimated wrt the viral penetration he is seeing on the ground. Testing kits are very short in supply. Hospit...

If I list out the most effected places. Wuhan, New York, California, Madrid, London, Northern Italy (rich part) etc.. All cities. I wonder if it was better off locking down just these cities, rather than entire countries... Right. Unfortunately by the time they realised what was happening, clusters...

What is the forum's opinion on the mass movement of migrant laborers? I am hoping it is a storm in a teacup because community transmission hasn't (hopefully) taken off I think it is a huge risk factor and can push India into Italy-zone. Modi directly appealed to these folks, asking them to stay whe...

Vijayk, the study you quote has been seriously questioned if not debunked a couple of days ago, IIRC there was a TOI article on this. As per French Govt advisory they identified just 2 strains, L & S. S being more virulent.

Lots of villages in AP have put unofficial roadblocks with tree trunks and thorny bushes to prevent outsiders from entering. Village vigilante youth are manning these 24x7. While this might seem like a good measure to prevent spread, we don't know how far taking law into own hands like this will go ...

So France testing to positive rate is 20 %. As on 27th, india has tested approx 28000 samples and have approx 700 positives. So that is 2.5%. I am wondering why? We are actually testing high risk group like direct contacts. This again might be due to our general resilience towards flu like viruses....
