Belgian farmer accidentally moves French border

Instead of causing international uproar, the incident has been met with smiles on both sides of the border.

Mashallah! why can't south asia be like this? When Pakistani farmers moved Indian border in 1999, India made a hue and cry, dropped bombs and killed them. India should learn from France and develop a big heart. Only then there will be peace in south asia.

This is a valid strategic concern: What if Pakistan's strategic pause and strategic patience is strategically exploited by India to achieve its strategic objectives, like strategic relationships with Afghanistan to strategically encircle Pakistan to put it under a strategic disadvantage vis-a-vis India? What will Pakistan's strategy be then? What is the strategic analysis by Pakistan's strategists to device a counter-strategy to this strategic threat?

Bajwa will then take the gloves off his strategic paws.

Amazon will soon add Pakistan to its sellers’ list: adviser
Mubarak Zeb Khan, May 7, 2021

ISLAMABAD: The new era of e-commerce boom is set to start for Pakistan as e-commerce giant Amazon has decided in principle to add the country to its sellers’ list within next few days, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Razak Dawood announced on Thursday.
Pakistan’s addition to Amazon’s sellers’ list will create opportunities for the exporters to sell their products through the platform. The platform offers Amazon’s 3 P model which serves brand owners (third party relationship — retailers sell directly to buyers through the marketplace) while 1 P model is for mass producers (marketplace acts as retailers while brand is wholesale supplier), who want to produce for Amazon brand items.
Some of the Pakistani companies are already selling on Amazon from their overseas offices, but the country’s inclusion in the sellers’ list will increase opportunities for small and medium enterprises. The move will help promote more businesses and online buyers will get reach to Pakistani brands as they will be able to access all major markets through Amazon.
In the wake of this decision, Amazon will open seller’s registration of Pakistani companies very soon. Amazon makes about $80 billion sales every year. China and India are major users of the platform for selling goods from the region.

Warning to those with a weak heart: the article contains a picture of Ms. Shireen Mazari, open at your own risk.

Pakistan Under Pressure to Recognise Israel
Federal Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari, recently revealed that Pakistan is still under pressure to recognize Israel.
Tayyab Atif, May 6, 2021

While addressing a public ceremony in Islamabad, Federal Minister on Human Rights, Shireen Mazari said there is a lot of pressure on Pakistan to recognise and formalize ties with Israel, but Pakistan has linked the matter with a just resolution of the Palestine issue.
“Normalizing relations with Israel is out of the question unless there is a just settlement to the Palestine conflict under UN resolutions.”
Moreover, Shireen Mazari lamented how the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) no longer raises a firm voice for Palestine and Kashmir.
“In the past, Pakistan has voiced support for every Muslim country in crisis. It has been a tradition for the Muslim Ummah to stand up for the justice of Muslim countries.”

There are speculations that Dimran Khan Niazi's testimonials are going to be squeezed in KSA. Recognizing Israel as a condition for the Zakat al Fitr from the Kingdom. But the reorganization will make him wajibul Cutlet instantly.

Mosques full despite Pakistan's Covid third wave
Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Rizvi -- who oversees the historic Markazi Jamia mosque in the garrison city of Rawalpindi -- said the faithful had little to fear, and dismissed comparisons to India.
"Our prayers are different," he said, and insisted restrictions were enforced -- at least under his watch.
"They are non-believers and we are Muslims. Repenting to Allah is our faith; they don't repent, that's the reason," he said.
That sentiment permeates all levels of society, with Prime Minister Imran Khan saying Thursday: "In India, people are dying on streets... Allah has been kind to us compared to the rest of the world."

by Swarajya Staff - May 7, 2021

Amid reports of back-channel talks between New Delhi and Islamabad, Pakistan appears to be toning down its rhetoric on Kashmir.
In an interview with Pakistan’s SAMAA TV, the country’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, has said that the dilution of Article 370 is India’s internal matter, adding that the move has been challenged in the Indian Supreme Court.
“In my view, Article 370 is not important,” Qureshi said. When asked what is important for Pakistan, he said Article 35A.

So they want India to not treat Kashmir as a part of India where Indians from rest of the country can go and settle. Their game plan to have the ability to keep Kashmir issue boiling by keeping the Muslims in a majority is clear. They want to step back on Article 370 for now so that BJP govt agrees to keeping Article 35A alive so as to keep the Muslims in majority and then once BJP is out of Power demand Status Quo from a Khichdi govt comprising SP/RJD/TMC/DMK/Congress/Left /AAP . This khichdi govt will be worse then the MMS (Open Borders) UPA govt and will be ready to offer Kashmir on platter to the Pakistanis.

Just like Pakis have settled Punjabis in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, India should settle its population at least in Jammu and Ladakh.

If at all BJP government is engaged in back channel diplomacy with the pakis it is very crucial that BJP govt tells the Pakis to take a hike when they try to negotiate on Article 35A . They should issue maximum domiciles and encourage migration from India into J&K. The clock is ticking....

Imran arrives in Jeddah, holds talks with Saudi prince
Baqir Sajjad Syed | Syed Irfan Raza, May 8, 2021

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Friday renewed pledge to enhance cooperation between the two countries in different fields.
The reaffirmation to boost the bilateral ties came during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s official visit to Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Khan arrived at Jeddah Airport on a three-day official visit. It is the prime minister’s third official visit to Saudi Arabia since he came to power in 2018. The prime minister was warmly received by Saudi Crown Prince and Defence Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Earlier in the day, Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa held meetings with the Saudi leaders.
According to an agreement signed after the prime minister’s arrival, the two sides decided to form a ‘Supreme Coordination Council’ to have close coordination between the two states. Besides, five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were inked in the fields of economic cooperation, strategic partnership, trade, investment, energy, environment and media partnership. Soon after Mr Khan’s arrival, the crown prince took him to Royal Palace where he hosted a reception in honour of the prime minister.
Following a one-on-one meeting with Prince Salman, a delegation-level meeting started between the two sides. The talks covered bilateral cooperation including economy, trade, investment, energy and job opportunities for the Pakistani workforce, and welfare of Pakistani diaspora in the Kingdom.
Accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Senator Faisal Javed, the prime minister arrived in the Kingdom at the invitation of the Saudi crown prince.
During the visit, the prime minister will meet the secretary general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, secretary general of the World Muslim League Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa and the Imams of the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Medina. He will interact with the Pakistani diaspora in Jeddah. He will also perform Umrah and pay his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (Peace be Upon Him) in Madina Munawwara.

Pakistan Imposes Eid Holiday Shutdown as Virus Cases Soar
By Agence France-Presse, May 08, 2021

Pakistan on Saturday began a nine-day shutdown affecting travel and tourist hotspots in a bid to prevent a surge in Covid-19 cases during the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr.
Already battling a third wave of infections and increasingly nervous about the crisis across the border in India, the government has imposed the most severe restrictions since a one-month lockdown in April last year. "These measures have been necessitated by the extremely dangerous situation which has been created in the region with the spread of virulent mutations of the virus," tweeted planning minister Asad Umar, who has been leading the government response to the outbreak.
....
Mosques, however, which have been packed each night throughout Ramadan -- with few people wearing masks -- will remain open. Authorities fear curbs on places of worship could ignite confrontation in the deeply conservative Islamic republic.
Impoverished Pakistan has recorded more than 850,000 infections and 18,600 deaths, but with limited testing and a ramshackle healthcare sector, many fear the true extent of the disease is much worse.

Note the "purple" carpet welcome.

Why is Sheikh Chilli the only one not wearing a mask? Even the pilot is wearing one.

2 Agreements signed By Saudi and Pakistan.

The country's state news agency added officials from both countries signed two agreements in the western city of Jeddah addressing the treatment of criminals, and crime.

They also agreed two memorandums of understanding around combating drug trafficking; as well as financing energy, infrastructure, transportation, water and communications projects.

The nations also agreed to establish a higher coordination council. (Quantum of Gubo deciding council  )

Yes. And then there was a time when he left the King of Saudi Arabia abruptly in his (the King's ) mid-sentence, as he was in a hurry to go some where. Time time ki baat hai. Drug use produces great mood swings. One moment you are on top of the world, in another moment the whole world is on you.

Ms. Kazmi is talking about Ramadan and how Muslims give to charity during this period and how Dimran Khan Niazi is above all world leaders in begging. This trip was to get some Zakat from the Saudi Prince, during a period when he may find it culturally difficult to refuse a beggar, who has come to your house for alms. She shows a sign that says "Zakat al Fitr Project in Pakistan-2021".

What happened to the MoUs that were signed a couple of years ago when Saudis visited Pakistan? Lot of publicity was given to that then. Not a single project got materialized. One of the MoUs was about KSA establishing a refinery in Pakistan. The MoUs were signed a few months after Aramco-Reliance announced $44 billion investment in building one of the largest refineries in Maharastra which must have hurt H&D of Pakis. Someone must have asked 'if India can get Saudis to invest in a refinery, why can't Pakistan?' and arranged an MoU for a similar investment.

It's a PAF plane... which begets three questions:

1. where is dimmy's solemn pre-election promise to only use commercial flights and travel coach class?
2. with only one toilet on the plane, how did peerni control herself (with all that religiously mandated distancing)?
3. why does paf operate a "commercial" plane?

This explains why Sheikh Chilli was included in the cohort (to sign an agreement as an "interior" minister). If it was about the treatment of criminal pakis in KSA, that agreement would fall under "Gaddi Nasheen" Quereshi's bailiwick.

In other words, KSA is now dictating pakis how to manage its criminals in pakhanistan.

the saudis even seem to have sent an aircraft to pick up this beggar.

No plane by Saudis but this is an improvement. What's going on. Pakis are backstabbing Turks and Malaysians? May be the the visit by Indian Army Chief has made Pakistan get off their turkish-malaysian-paki axis dream and line for GUBO. But how are they useful to MBS now?

I did not anticipate post oil economy this soon. US shale has been singularly responsible for bring this moderation to the Arabian peninsula.

Niatzi’s trip may have to do with the American victory in Afghanistan.

I don't follow TSP as closely as I used to do.
Did the Pakis re-pay the $3B that MBS demanded immediately? TSP went to China for a loan to repay the loan.
Tks.

Yes the Paki's had to take loan from China to pay the $1 billion that was demanded back by MBS. UAE and Saudi have been acting in Tandem in bringing pressure on the Pakistanis. UAE has even stopped issuing any new Work Visas to the Pakistanis since the last one year. But it surprisingly did not insist on getting its $1 Billion back after initially asking for it.

Though no one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, it could be linked to last month's announcement where Washington said it was pushing back the troop withdrawal deadline from May 1 to Sept. 11, which the Taliban warned could have consequences for the agreement.

India strongly condemns the terrorist attack on Sayed al-Shuhada Girls school in Kabul yesterday, which killed more than 50 innocent girl students during the holy month of Ramadan: MEA India.

Can Imran Khan Change the Course of Saudi-Pakistani Relations?
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s relationship is walking a fine line.
By Niha Dagia, May 7, 2021

The decades-long relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is treading on thin ice. Riyadh is looking to diversify its oil-dependent economy by further engaging with other South Asian countries while Islamabad struggles to expand relations with its long-standing partner beyond security cooperation and cultural ties. In the latest attempt to revive the relationship, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia today for a three-day visit with Saudi leadership. Ahead of Khan, Pakistan’s army chief, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, reached Riyadh on Tuesday to lay the groundwork for a fresh start.
The Pakistani army’s media wing said Bajwa discussed regional security and bilateral defense, among other matters, in meetings with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and others. Meanwhile, Tahir Ashrafi, Khan’s special aide on religious harmony, told Foreign Policy talks will cover a green deal; enhanced trade cooperation; and collaborations in media, information, and cultural exchange. He said they will also discuss a joint strategy against terrorism.
Islamabad and Riyadh have had a strategic partnership for decades. Historically, the kingdom has almost always come to Pakistan’s financial rescue. Since the 1960s, Pakistan has received more aid from Saudi Arabia than any other country outside the Arab world and has almost never repaid any loans. In turn, Islamabad has provided military aid and expertise to Riyadh. “Deep inside their hearts, the kingdom knows that they can count on Pakistan’s support in case its security comes under threat. A historic bond of trust exists on security cooperation,” said Khan Hasham bin Saddique, a former Pakistani ambassador to the kingdom. Lately, however, Islamabad and Riyadh have been less in sync. The foundation cracked six years ago when Islamabad decided to sit out of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen’s ongoing war—a public snub that irked Saudi leadership. When defense cooperation is taken out of the picture, it turns out, Pakistan has little to offer to the kingdom. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia began seeking closer economic ties and increased military cooperation with other South Asian countries, including Pakistan’s archrival, India. In April 2016, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick-started a new range of bilateral cooperation with a visit to Riyadh.
As New Delhi and Riyadh have grown closer, Islamabad, witnessing a tumultuous shift in its own relationship with Riyadh, set out to fix it. Losing the favor of one of the strongest Muslim nations would mean an outcry among religious Pakistanis at home—alongside economic and security drawbacks. Islamabad has realized it must increase Saudi stakes in Pakistan. It can do so by offering—and following through on—economic opportunities to Saudi investors and becoming a part of the kingdom’s bid to diversify its economy. And if Khan plays his cards right, the damage control launched shortly after the fallout over Yemen may finally reach its conclusion during his weekend visit.
Islamabad’s bid to reset relations started in 2018. First, Pakistan essentially put its flag in the Saudi-led coalition against the Houthi rebels in Yemen by sending troops on a “training and advise mission.” “It was good for optics,” said a Pakistani foreign office ex-official privy to the development who spoke to Foreign Policy on condition of anonymity. Then, looking to diversify the ties beyond security cooperation, former Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi negotiated an economic and cultural package in 2018 that promoted social and cultural exchange programs; increased the quota for the Pakistani workforce in construction projects in the kingdom; and secured Saudi investment for regasified liquefied natural gas plants, an oil refinery, and alternate energy. The table was set for a closer relationship. Then Pakistan got a new prime minister. “After much lobbying, we ensured Imran Khan’s first foreign visit was to meet King Salman bin Abdul Aziz,” the ex-official added. “But he arrived in Riyadh clueless and unprepared about maintaining foreign relations.”

Im duh Dim has spoken!

Pakistan not talking with India: PM Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically said that Pakistan is not talking with India and will not hold negotiations until the special status of Indian Occupied Kashmir is restored.
Speaking on India's efforts to counter China’s growing military and economic power, he said it was a futile effort on New Delhi's part, adding that India will suffer in the process.
He addressed concerns by Kashmiris of Pakistan returning to the negotiating table with India, saying that till New Delhi did not reverse its August 5 decision of scrapping Article 370, the government of Pakistan will not hold any dialogue with it.

Ok. So I give this dimwit seven days to start U-turning and backtracking. Watch this space.

By the way, I did not know that there were cashmeries in pakhanistan?
