Anecdotal evidence somehow proves that Indians yearn for kingship and dynastic rule over democracy. Anecdotal at best for now.

Long ago posted this on Twitter to a lot of wah-wahs.

Machiavelli in the Prince wrote
"Whoever desires to establish a kingdom or principality where liberty and equality
prevail, will equally fail unless he withdraws from that general equality a
number of the boldest and most ambitious spirits, and makes gentlemen of them,
not merely in name but in fact, by giving them castles and possessions, as well as
money and subjects; so that surrounded by these he may be able to maintain his
power, and that by his support they may satisfy their ambition, and the others
may be constrained to submit to that yoke to which force alone has been able
to subject them. . . . But to establish a republic in a country better adapted to a
monarchy, or a monarchy where a republic would be more suitable, requires a
man of rare genius and power, and therefore out of the many that have attempted
it but few have succeeded.
(Discourses I; Machiavelli [1531] 1950, chap. 55, p. 256)

Nehruji was creating a monarchy while claiming it to be a democracy.

NaMo is building a republic out of the country that better adapted to be a monarchy.
He is doing a French Revolution without the guillotine.

All these dynastic parties are due to the republic in a monarchy type of state.

SC Expresses Surprise Over 100-Page Judgment Of High Court On Bail Plea Of Three 'Activists' In Delhi Riots Case
https://swarajyamag.com/insta/sc-expres ... riots-case
....
The SC bench comprising Justices Hemant Gupta and V Ramasubramaniam ordered that the High Court's judgment could not be cited as a precedent by other accused to seek bail.

The bench also expressed surprise over the '100-page judgment' by Delhi in a bail petition.

The SC bench said, "What is troubling us is that in a bail petition, the High Court authors a 100-page judgment, and that too discussing all laws. This is something very, very surprising."

The top court added, "What we can say is since the bail has been granted, those who got the relief will not be affected. But otherwise, we will stay the effect of this order."

A lot of changes coming to Bengal BJP.

1. NaMo sarkar is going to induct several individuals from Bengal - for sure Nishit Pramanik (MP from Dinhata, Coochbehar) and Locket Chatterjee are going to be inducted. Possibly Dilip Ghosh too.

2. Suvendu Adhikary will be the face of Bengal BJP - may be state president also. However, this may run contray to one man one post rule since SA is also the opposition leader.

3. Within the state BJP several leaders are venting their anger against Dilip Ghosh due to his unfiltered comments which often caused embarrassment for the party. For this reason Dilip Ghosh will be taken in Delhi.

4. Using worsening law and order situation SA is campaigning in Delhi to impose A356, but the central leadership is very wary of this as the public sympathy will go with TMC.

Olive branch: 'J&K parties may soon get invite from New Delhi'
Is the media trying to raise a 'trial balloon' by assuming these things? Or is GoI planning to get into negotiations again with the same old wily Kashmiri politicians? What has changed in J&K UT which makes GoI to think about state hood for the UT? Especially if the same old politicians are running the show and Islamists still dictating how life should move on in the area?

I wouldn't wouldn't disagree with him completely as there is an aspect of monetary based buy-ins to get a citizenship in many places. Anyway that's OT here.

This is the reply to the motivated diatribe of the darbari, parivari, and BIF led CCG against Modi's policies by the FOFA

What critics of PM Modi’s foreign policy are ignoring

Kanwal Sibal, Shyamala B Cowsik, Veena Sikri, Bhaswati Mukherjee write: They are disregarding clear continuities in key areas of foreign policy under the UPA and the NDA governments, and minimising external threats to India.

We, a Forum of Former Ambassadors of India, are concerned at the manner in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policies are being relentlessly criticised, including by those who were at the helm of our foreign and security policies in the past.

Those faulting the Modi government’s foreign policy as if there are serious departures from the past miss the clear continuities in key areas under the UPA and the NDA governments. The BJP government under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee made India nuclear, engaged the US government in strategic discussions to resolve the nuclear issue, which eventually led to the India-US nuclear deal under PM Manmohan Singh’s government.

The dialogue with Pakistan broke down under the previous government and the impasse endures. The policy to engage Russia as a tried and trusted friend even as we develop new partnerships has not undergone any change. Important openings towards the conservative Gulf States created by the UPA have been greatly broadened by the NDA. With his background PM Modi’s excellent personal equations with the Saudi rulers and the Gulf potentates is a remarkable achievement.

The Malabar exercises with the US began in the 1990s, resumed under the UPA Government and have now been expanded to include Japan and Australia. The Look East policy of the UPA became the Act East policy under the NDA. Priority has been given by both governments to relations with Japan. The Indo-Pacific concept was first formulated by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in his speech to India’s parliament in 2007, has been in the air in the years that followed and has evolved under the NDA.

The Modi Government has paid far more attention to its neighbours than the previous government, with PM Modi making frequent visits to their capitals. It has focused far more than its predecessor on maritime security in the Indian Ocean and on acquiring the required capabilities to better ensure this. A major maritime partnership has been established with France in the western Indian Ocean. Access to naval bases in the Gulf is now available to the Indian navy.

Ties with ASEAN have continued to be cultivated, with all its leaders present in India on Republic Day 2018 as chief guests. The more restricted format of the India-Africa summit in 2008 and 2011 was enlarged in scope in 2015 with 41 African leaders participating.

With the European Union, at the 16th India-EU Leaders Virtual Summit in May, when all the 27 leaders were present, it has been agreed to resume negotiations, blocked since 2013, on a Free Trade Agreement, an Investment Agreement and one on Geographic Indicators. Separately an Enhanced Trade Partnership Agreement has been signed with post-Brexit UK.

Where PM Modi has imposed his thinking and personality more markedly at the international level is in the active wooing of the Indian diaspora. He has been able to galvanise them with his oratory and his message of confidence in India’s future. PM Modi has also promoted India’s soft power and its cultural and religious heritage as a tool of foreign policy which his predecessor did not. In 2014, the UN declared June 21 as Yoga Day annually. The new areas he has explored, such as leveraging our cultural soft power, are add-ons to a basic continuity, not diversions from it.

Of concern are the efforts by “experts” to gloss over China’s policies, motives and hostility towards India. To argue that China occupied part of the Doklam plateau in Bhutan because we cried “victory” after checkmating them is to not only to deny the government credit for standing up to China, but actually project it as a mistake in giving China an excuse to implant itself more firmly on the plateau. By this logic China’s reported occupation of a strip of land in northern Bhutan, intrusion into large swathes of Ladakh, territorial claims on Arunachal Pradesh, stirring incidents in Sikkim, reclaiming islands, occupying and militarising them in South China Sea are all a result of India and others goading China by crying victory or following ill-thought out policies. What we saw at Doklam was simply a part of a new-found Chinese aggressiveness on territorial sovereignty issues that we see in many other geographies.

If the UPA government down played the Depsang incident, calling it an “acne” on the beautiful face of India-China ties and engaged in behind the scene discussions in order to avoid hardening of positions on both sides to give diplomacy a chance, why is the Modi government being accused of dishonesty by avoiding jingoism and pursuing quiet but intensive diplomacy coupled with strong military measures on the far more sensitive and dangerous eastern Ladakh confrontation? To claim that after massing 50,000 troops, including during winter, and occupying the Kailash Range heights, the Modi government is defending a “narrative” and not our actual position on the ground is groundless criticism.

These “experts” argue that cheap Chinese goods are good for the Indian consumer, that instead of accelerating decoupling we should build a relationship where the dependencies are minimised and the benefits maximised- as if China will play ball with such plans- and in recommending that we remain open to Chinese investments in a controlled manner. In other words, keep the security part separate from the economic part, precisely what China advocates.

China is not just another neighbour. It is a powerful adversary that has, over decades, sought to undermine Indian interests at every turn. Any peace with China would be tenuous, lasting only as long as China wishes it to last. That China has wrecked the existing border agreements and the basis on which the relationship is being managed since 1988 presents us with a continuing challenge, more acute as China becomes stronger and its ambitions become grander.

The gloss that is being put on China’s global ambitions is puzzling. It is argued that China is ready to take centre stage, not to build a different world order but to redefine the existing order and improve it, that anything outside that is dangerous, and that China is open to negotiation. This is reducing the threat China poses to the international order to mere semantics, ignoring the hard geopolitics and hegemonic ambitions at play. China, it is being claimed, merely wants a division of the world between the great powers. Would this mean that China is willing to divide Asia between China and India, that is, accept two tigers on the same mountain? Or is it a tacit support for a G2 to which India should reconcile?

To criticise the Modi government’s foreign policy on the ground that India does best when it is most connected to the outside world, that in the last few years we are turning inwards, closing our mind and cutting ourselves from the outside world, absurdly suggests that India has marooned itself on an island since 2014.

India continues to participate actively in international fora, be it the G20, invitations to G7 meetings, those of BRICS and SCO. It has initiated the International Solar Alliance and the Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Coalition, taken a leadership role in Climate Change negotiations in lieu of a defensive position, reinvigorated ties with Europe, defined the Indo-Pacific concept in accordance with our vision, calibrated the strengthening of the Quad and launched new initiatives in the Indian Ocean area. To say we are convinced we are unique and exceptional and do not need the world is empty criticism. As of May 2021, PM Modi has made 109 visits abroad, visiting 60 countries.

India has aspirations to be a leading power, but there is no officially expressed ambition to be a “Vishwa Guru”, though the West has been a “Vishwa Guru” in seeking to mould the world in accordance with its “universal” values. That India seeks “to change the world, get revenge, gain status or to get other people to say how great we are” is mocking at our aspiration to rise as a power. Unlike China, when has India seen its rise as a way to get revenge for past humiliations?

How much Bengali supported BJP in 2021 election :

2011's Poriborton Election which CPIM lost, TMC got 38.93% vote.

In 2021's election, BJP got 38.13% vote.

BJP despite following wrong agendas, lacking leadership enjoys same popularity as TMC did in 2011.

Let this sink in.

statehood may also mean UT with an elected govt like with the dilli model, thus leaving police, security, and many other vital matters with the LG without allowing these "representatives" access to sensitive matters of major interest to the pakis and the hans

almost the entire body politic in cashmere is paki pasand and many function more as informers than "state" representatives.

the many poisonous political families of the state should be defanged as well as neutered

U.S DoJ has ordered Al Jazeera to register as a foreign agent for engaging in political activities on U.S. soil.

What's stopping India from doing the same with quasi-political entities like NYT, NPR, FT, WaPo and Al Jazeera?

U.S. Orders Al Jazeera Affiliate to Register as Foreign Agent

The Justice Department ordered a digital news network based in the United States and owned by Al Jazeera, the media company backed by the royal family of Qatar, to register as a foreign agent, surprising a high-level delegation from Doha just as officials from the two nations met to strengthen diplomatic and economic alliances.

Most news outlets haven't covered it. No CM, PM, HM, has been worked up about it. No tweet or appeasement.

Gujarat: Cow smugglers kill VHP Gaurakshak Hardik Kansara, nephew of district BJP president, 10 arrested
https://www.opindia.com/2021/06/gujarat ... nsara-bjp/

Five of the accused have been arrested in the past in connection with illegal transportation of cows in Maharashtra and Gujarat. As per reports, the accused have also been booked under sections of the Gujarat Essential Commodities and Cattle (Control) Act and the Motor Vehicles Act.

The victim, Hardik Kansara, was reportedly keeping a watch at the Bam Creek bridge on the Dharampur-Valsad road after receiving information that a tempo carrying cattle would pass by that road. In order to stop the tempo, Hardik Kansara parked a truck at the center of the road. The tempo driver reportedly drove the vehicle over him when Kansara was standing near the truck and injured him severely in the process.

How Muslims made Periyar bend a knee, while he continued to abuse Hindus despite protests

Suren | 20 June, 2021

A striking aspect of the Dravidian brand of rationalism is how it attacks only Hindu beliefs and icons and is very careful to never critique the beliefs and practices of any other religion. Let us peer back in history and see if it was always so.

Dravidian publications and rationalist critique

In Kuti Arasu, EV Ramasamy’s journal, an essay titled – “Why Purdah must be abolished” – was published on 14-10-1928. On 4-11-1929, M S Hussain Saheb, writing for Kuti Arasu, wrote in an essay titled “The Injustice of Purdah” –

“Men and women must be allowed to see each other freely and intermingle, so that they may wed based on mutual attraction and understanding. Can a man have any greater pleasure than a wife of his heart’s desire? Why must we hide our women behind a visual prison in the name of religion?”

In 3-3-1929, Kuti Arasu published another essay – “Islam and the Self-Respect Movement”, in which they decried the clergy as “Pauranika liars” who would cheat young Muslims and mislead them away from the path of rationalism and making enlightened choices for themselves.

On Jun 17, 1932, a Self-Respect Conference was held in Mannargudi under the chairship of Smt Kunjitham, a young graduate and wife of “Kuthoosi” Gurusami, EV Ramasamy”s confidante. In this, Smt Kunjitham spoke –

“The Congress under Mr Gandhi wants to keep Hindu, Muslim and Christian faiths as they are and seek unity among all Indians. However, we wish to destroy all such religious faiths as we believe only freedom from such faith can lead to social unity.“

The backlash

P. Kalifullah, a Muslim League leader and sometime collaborator of the Justice Party leadership, openly said that if the Self-Respect Movement had to gain any support among Muslims of South India, they should give up on the habit of applying their principles of atheism to Islam. The Dar-ul-Islam, a Tamil publication wrote against the idea of Dravidian race politics and cautioned “The Tirukkural may be another Holy Book and Tiruvalluvar another Prophet in a Dravida Nadu“. In Aiyampettai, a small town in Thanjavur District, the local jamaat excommunicated all Muslim members of the Self-Respect Movement.

The climbdown

By November 1935, EV Ramasamy wrote –

“If, to shun the religion that imposes untouchability on them,  Ambedkar and his followers turn to Islam for succour rather than to atheism, we would not have any objections to it.“

Ramanathapuram Baghdad Sahib writing in “Madras Mail” in January 1939 –

“Periyar is a Muslim inside. His plan is to outwardly stay in the Hindu faith and send the Depressed Classes over to Islam“. There was no objection from any quarters to this claim.

In the Kuti Arasu editorial of April 17, 1947, EV Ramasamy wrote –

amasamy wrote –

“In a Dravidian Government, Muslims and Christians shall be regarded as groups friendly to the Dravidians. Muslims, being Dravidians, must have equal rights over the Tamil Land. Except for the small matter of religion, there is no means by which one can divide the Islamic and non-Islamic Dravidians“.

The capitulation

Writing in Viduthalai on July 15, 1947, EV Ramasamy –

“There is so much in common with the original Dravidian religion and Islam. The Arab word for Dravidian religion is Islam. When the Aryan faith was sought to be forced on our people, the Prophet Muhammed revived our people”s original faith by means of Islam“.

Addressing the Trichy Employees Association in March 1947, he said –

“Before Islam, Christianity, Shiva, Rama or Krishna, we Dravidians had our own pristine religion. Do not think Islam is an invention of the Prophet or that the Sahibs (Urdu speaking Muslims of Madras Presidency), Rowthers, Marakkaiyars or Mappillas are the sole Muslims of this land”.

As we can see, the slightest resistance from the Indian Muslim population was sufficient to make the Dravidian movement capitulate, while the campaign of abuse and calumny against Hinduism has gone on for decades, inspite of wide spread protests.

Shanmukh
So, it is in its interest to render the debate irrelevant by its actions, an obvious action that comes to mind is the implementation of the CAA.
And then it can legitimately ask the questions:
1) what is a Bengali identity that denies citizenship to Bengali refugees of religious persecution
2) what is a Bengali identity that allows for unfettered rape of Bengali women on an industrial scale as part of post-poll violence [129]
3) what is a Bengali identity that allows the murder of Bengalis, looting of their properties, and their forced exodus as part of post-violence [130] [131]

Hope you quadret address these.

EXCLUSIVE: Centre to Clear Path to J&K Statehood, PM Modi to Discuss Blueprint in June 24 Meet

Why keep posting fake news headlines designed to create a false sensation ?

Read the article, which itself says there is no chance of statehood anytime soon. The path to statehood was never "obstructed", so what is there to "clear the path" ?

It has always been the same roadmap. Delimitation, UT with legislature, and then we'll see about statehood depending on how the political parties behave.

The delimitation exercise itself has barely started this week, with the bureaucrats sending letters to political parties to cooperate.

Ramana-garu,
Those are questions that the BJP can legitimately pose to Mamata IF they complete the CAA and give citizenship to the Hindu refugees from Bangladesh. Mamata has no answer to them. Bengali identity IS dhaarmic identity. There never was and there never will be a religion-neutral Bengali identity. Bengali speaking Muslims are NOT Bengali - in fact, Muslims until 1947 refused to say that they were Bengali, and claimed only that they were Muslim.

With BJP showing that they are caring for Hindu refugees and Mamata and her thugs looting and raping [most of Mamata's criminals are non-Hindu, BTW], the Bengali vs outsider identity will be rendered irrelevant. Mamata has no answer to the above questions if the BJP shows that they are pro-Bengali. Mamata is able to play the Bengali vs outsider card only because the BJP is also seen as an outsider [their leaders, with some exceptions, are abysmal at Bangla]. If the BJP completes CAA, then it becomes obvious that BJP is pro-Bengali and in fact, it is Mamata who is anti-Bengali with her actions targeting other Bengalis.

Mamata's campaign on the ground was heavily focussed on her claim that the BJP will never give citizenship to Bengalis. With nearly a thousand Bengali refugees imprisoned in Assam's detention camps [to release them, BJP government in Assam just needed to notify a gazette], Mamata was able to credibly make her claim that BJP would never give any citizenship to Bengalis. If BJP destroys her credibility by giving citizenship to Bengali refugees, she has no leg to stand on to claim that BJP is an outsider.

All Bangladeshi and Pakistani Hindus(Sindh mostly) should be granted automatic Indian Citizenship i.e whenever they need/want it.This will come out to about 1.5 Crore Hindus. If they cannot come to Bharat, where else they will go? This is one of the lowest hanging fruits that Namo can pluck.

For the present Govt at center , to win 2024 elections, they have to implement more populist schemes like the way AP govt and Telangana Govt gave sops to all and sundry with out bothering about the financial implications. In AP many rich ppl have included themselves in schemes like arogyasree ,which provides free healthcare in Govt run and corporate hospitals. only the salaried class pay through their nose. farm labourers have become costly and small and poor farmers cant afford them. The present govt at the center received so much flak during COVID second wave due to shortage of vaccination, shortage of life saving medicines and oxygen cylinders. Eventhough , every state has a chief minister ,health minister, several IAS secretaries and district collectors, With out proper planning and lack of coordination and foresight ,these CMs have found the easy way to blame the central Govt for their lapses.. may be with the exception of ODISHA CM. I don't know how prashanth kishore operates , he is successful in dislodging BJP in WB, TN. He should be checkmated by BJP. The corporatization of OFB though is a welcome move, but center has made so many enemies with the OFB staff, which will be encashed by cong(I) and other BJP opponents. The Govt should have a counter social media propaganda machine to nullify the venom spewing news channels and media. The opponents are going to play the Islam card in UP,WB under the guidance of owaisi,

R^3, Have you considered OFB has been a very anti-national setup with a cabal to ensure Indiavwill always be weak.
Corporations OFB as DPSU is best option. If they persist then these will be privatized fully.
The OFB staff is worse than govt departments. They go through motions of working and thus prevent arms procurement and worse provide shoddy goods. All this jeopardizes national security.

usually such people have skeletons under the cupboard..IB/local police should be mobilized..strangle the money, make them busy with NIA raids..rest all might fall through...if innocent ISRO scientists can be put in jail..then i am sure they will have enough evidence against them to turn them into regular court goers...less guns than LCAs is a sin...

my sense is few know whats happening...unless of course modi govt has already discussed the agenda with gu-pkar folks and they have leaked. I think there might be some appeasement of Biden administration to show flexibility and bide time before we move in for some key sites in GB/PoK before 2024 time period. Lots of parts are moving, we will only realize from hindsight. At best we can hope to be with the curve, definitely not ahead of curve on this.

The general theme here is that the Hindu is weak and all it takes is a threat (though the threat is real). Without Hindus constantly discussing these issues at a family level and forcing hands of politicians by manifesto commitments and work towards it not much is going to change. Hindus have to be able to defend themselves and it's the street credit that counts. Else, all it takes is a treat to rape and convert Hindu women.
The second case of use of "Anti Love Jihad" law by Police in Gujarat
https://www.deshgujarat.com/2021/06/21/ ... n-gujarat/
...
The accused named Imran Vashi Ansari (age- 23 years, married) had forced the victim (age- 19 years) to escape and marry him by threatening to kill her brother. The accused had sexually assaulted the victim women many times in Ajmer and Indore and had also made unsuccessful attempt to marry her in Ajmer. The crime is reported under Section 4 of Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act 2021 and IPC Section 366, 376 (2) and 506 (2) against the accused by the police and further actions will be taken.

It is to be noted that the police have found nude photographs of the victim women from the cell-phone of the accused of recently emerged Love Jihad case of Vadodara named Samir Qureshi alias Martin. Police have sent the cell-phone to FSL for further investigation and added two more sections in the complaint registered against the accused which are Section 5 of Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act 2021 for forcibly converting the religion of the victim and Section 419 for adopting the fake name.
