First India-Nordic summit to boost ties with 5 nations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet leaders of Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark & Iceland for the first India-Nordic Summit in Stockholm on April 17.

Modi will be the first Indian PM to visit Stockholm since 1988. The only other instance of a similar Nordic summit was during President Barack Obama’s tenure when heads of state or governments participated.

Swedish Ambassador to India Klas Molin told ET “Prime Minister Löfven was very happy to accept the proposal by PM Modi to hold an Indo-Nordic Summit in Stockholm. The two PMs have met and spoken often over the last few years and they have very good chemistry. They jointly invited the other Nordic prime ministers to Stockholm for the summit.

The six leaders will exchange views on regional and global issues such as environment and climate, trade and investment and discuss areas of future cooperation,”. Löfven’s office in a statement said “the government is working to strengthen Sweden’s role as a key partner for India in the country’s rapid development, especially in innovation.”

Modi will meet the Indian diaspora at the end of the visit. There are 25,000 living in Sweden, with industries like tech in particular attracting skilled labour. Over 170 Swedish companies have invested $1.4 billion since 2000. Around 70 Indian companies have invested in Sweden. India-Sweden annual bilateral trade stands at around $1.8 billion, according to MEA statement. India-Nordic trade $ 5.3 billion in 2016-17, with Cumulative FDI to India at $ 2.5 billion.

Relevance here: What the Oiropeans do routinely. Is India immune?

The SEC is accusing Volkswagen and its former CEO of 'massive fraud'. By Daniel Shane, CNN Business. Updated 4:38 AM ET, Fri March 15, 2019

SEC's complaint, filed in a federal court in San Francisco, relates to $13 billion in bonds and other securities that Volkswagen issued in 2014 and 2015. The lawsuit alleges that the company made false and misleading claims about its financial health and the environmental impact of its technology in order to sell the securities to investors at inflated prices.

The SEC alleges that senior Volkswagen executives were aware when the securities were sold that more than 500,000 of the company's vehicles in the United States breached vehicle emissions limits.
"By concealing the emissions scheme, Volkswagen reaped hundreds of millions of dollars in benefit by issuing the securities at more attractive rates for the company," the SEC said in a statement. The complaint targets Volkswagen, two of its US subsidiaries and Winterkorn.
The SEC is seeking to recover "ill-gotten gains" from the automaker and impose civil penalties.

The originators of Mice Schidt said:
SEC report is "legally and factually flawed, and Volkswagen will contest it vigorously." The securities were "sold only to sophisticated investors, who were not harmed and received all payments of interest and principal in full and on time," the spokesman. The complaint "repeats unproven claims" about Winterkorn who "played no part in the [securities] sales," he added.

Notre Dame Cathedral on fire. No Pakistanis arrested (yet).
Strange that a fire in an attic during maintenance work can destroy the whole structure. Frogistanis found time to sneer at Trump's suggestion of an aerial tanker. Figures.

Whole news in Khanistan is on the Notre Dame fire. L'office de Prosequtore Superiore has sent L'Inspecteure Clouseau to investigate "Comboostione Involuntaire". The church is one of the most revered and loved places of worship for Catholic ppl in Frogistan as well as Khanistan: where Louis the XIV prayed b4 executing a few more starving peasants, Inspecteur Javert prayed before stalking Jean Val Jean through the sewers, and Napoleon prayed for blessings to cause the deaths of 400,000 Russians, most by starvation, and 500,000 of his own troops.

Look at the videos. How did they make a smoke cloud look orange/vemillion? Artistic renderings, even of a disastrous fire?

All said and done (no offence to any Xtian ppl reading) it was due for major renovation to bring it in line with 21st century Fire Code for a downtown bldg, hain? That is what is going to happen now - and Macaroni showed native Frogistani mentality by "opening" the fundraising b4 the fire had gone out, all over the world. What a scam!!!

Now they'll be selling
Je suis Notre Dami

buttons with pics of the spire collapsing like a deflated Paki mijjile, for 1000 Oiros each, and ppl in India will rush to buy them.

But one wonders if this was just a larger and more imaginative version of the usual evening fireworks involving cars, shopfronts etc .....

not a good equivalence as the hunchback's workplace spontaneously combusted. as no foul play is suspected at the moment, it would not be right to compare it to ram mandir.
as eirope as a whole will come together to build it back, it will be interesting to see if the components of modernism make it to the structure and transform it to a place of "faith" and human heritage.
also, the al aqsa mosque was burning at the same time as the cathedral, wonder what that's all about.

I don’t think it necessarily concerns Xtianity specifically. Such structures are the cultural heritage of all. Just as is the anaerobic distillation of zinc in ancient India, for example. Of course it is a loss.

Or a monument more suited more to the inspiration of Mother Mary and less to the Crusader mass-murderers and child-molesters who built it with slave labor, using non-"green" methods and materials. They probably discovered asbestos during the roof maintenance work and decided on this ploy to get Indians to pay for it.

Stay tuned for reports of fundraising in India for this.

European parliamentarians slam Pakistan for harbouring militants, say terrorists didn't land from Moon.

European parliamentarians Ryszard Czarnecki and Fulvio Martusciello have slammed Pakistan for harbouring militants, with one of them saying terrorists who carried out attacks in India did not come from the Moon.

During a special debate of the plenary of the European Parliament on the situation in Kashmir on Tuesday, Czarnecki, the member of EU Parliament and European Conservatives and Reformists Group in Poland called India the "greatest democracy of the world".

"India is the greatest democracy of the world. We need to look at terrorist acts that took place in India, Jammu and Kashmir. These terrorists didn't land from the Moon. They were coming from the neighbouring country. We should support India," said Czarnecki.

Martusciello, a member of EU Parliament and Group of European People's Party (Christian Democrats) in Italy, said Pakistan had threatened to use nuclear weapons which was a concern to the European Union. "Pakistan is somewhere where terrorists have been able to plan bloody terrorist attacks in Europe," said Martusciello while accusing Islamabad of human rights violations.

Opening the debate on behalf of the vice president of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, EU Minister Tytti Tuppurainen said 'no one could afford another escalation in Kashmir.' The EU minister urged India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir issue through dialogue, seeking a peaceful and political solution, respectful of the interests of the Kashmiri population on both sides of the Line of Control. "This is the only way to solve the longtime dispute to avoid instability and insecurity in the region, she added," she said. She also called on India to restore means of communications in the Valley.

India revoked Jammu and Kashmir's special status on August 5. Reacting to India's move on Kashmir, Pakistan downgraded diplomatic ties with New Delhi and expelled the Indian High Commissioner. Pakistan has been trying to internationalise the Kashmir issue but India has asserted that the abrogation of Article 370 was its "internal matter". New Delhi also asked Islamabad to accept the reality and stop its anti-India rhetoric.

India has defended imposition of restrictions in the Kashmir Valley on the grounds that they were put to prevent Pakistan from creating more mischief through proxies and terrorists.

US will abandon the Greeks, as they did with the Kurds: Russian ambassador to the EU

The Russian Ambassador to the EU Vladimir Chizhov warned Greece from Rhodes, where he attended the International Forum of Dialogues of Culture that the US might abandon it just as it did with the Kurds.

In an interview with the Russian news agency TASS, Chizhov said specifically about the Turkish invasion in northeastern Syria and the US decision to abandon the Kurds:

"The problem must be resolved through dialogue. The EU also does not include the government at Damascus and we, of course, do include them. We are ready to mediate between Ankara and the Kurds and between the Kurds and Damascus. We had warned the Kurds that the Americans will abandon them. And here, in Rhodes, I can personally warn the Greeks about it, that they will have the same fate as the Kurds".

On the Defense Cooperation Agreement Greece signed with the US during the visit of US Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo to Athens, the Russian Ambassador to the EU replied:

"I think this is wrong, but this is my personal opinion. Of course, you need to ask the Greek side why they made such a decision. But I do not rule out the possibility that they did so amid tensions between the United States and Turkey. However, this does not mean that this decision is well weighed for the future".

Why Israelis like to travel to India?

In this video, the presenter says that if dressed openly as a Jew, one will be assaulted within a distance of 100 meter in Europe. That is one reason why Israelis love to visit India.
Then this:

Never Again?
The Halle Attack and Everyday Anti-Semitism in Germany
Jews in Germany are taunted and harassed every day, often -- but by no means exclusively -- by the far right. This daily discrimination also sets the stage for violence against Jewish people.

By Annette Großbongardt, Tobias Rapp and Antonia Schaefer

It seems it has become possible again to marginalize and denigrate Jews in public in Germany. Anti-Semitism never disappeared entirely, of course, but it is now becoming increasingly visible everywhere. The near bloodbath in the Halle synagogue last Wednesday is only the shocking climax of a development that Jews have been sensing for years.

Kitji,
I was trying to say that the rise of antisemitism in EU countries have been followed not only by the rise of the right, but also the increase of the Islamic population. Both make it acceptable to be antisemitic openly and as a part of a long held tradition. The Spiegel article is worth reading.

On this topic (Europe and Islam) and relevant to the Mighty Mongolian's post above, I offer the following comment, which I copied from a blog a few years ago. I would love to give credit to the blog and the original author, but I can't because I don't have that info handy here. Anyway, here goes:

The Muslim migrants flooding into Europe are meant to be the retirement plan for an ageing continent. They’re supposed to keep Europe’s ramshackle collection of economic policies, its welfare states and social programs rolling along. But they’re more like a Final Solution. Mohammed is Fritz’s retirement plan, but Mohammed has a very different type of plan. Fritz is counting on Mohammed to work while he relaxes, but Mohammed relaxes and expects Fritz to work. Fritz is not related to him and therefore Mohammed sees no reason why he should work to support him.

European social democracy reduces society to a giant insurance plan in which money is pooled together. But insurance is forbidden in Islam, which considers it to be gambling. European social democracy expects him to bail it out, but to Mohammed, European values are a crime against Islam. Mohammed’s Imam will tell him to work off the books (i.e. unofficially, in the black-market economy) because paying into the system is gambling. However, taking money out of the system is just Jiziya -- the money non-Muslims are obligated, under Islamic law, to pay to Muslims. Under Islamic law, it’s better for Mohammed to sell drugs than to pay taxes. That’s why drug dealing and petty crime are such popular occupations for Salafis in Europe. It’s preferable to steal from infidels than to participate in the great gamble of the European welfare state.

Mohammed isn’t staking his future on the shaky pensions of European socialism. He invests in what social scientists call "social capital". He plans his retirement by having a dozen kids. If this lifestyle is subsidized by infidel social services, so much the better; and when social services collapse, those of his kids who aren’t in prison or in ISIS will be there to look after him in his golden years. As retirement plans go, it’s older and better than the European model. Mohammed doesn’t worry much about the future. Even if he doesn’t make it past six kids, by the time he’s ready to retire the European country he’s living in will probably be an Islamic State -- and he is confident that whatever its arrangements are, they will be better and more just than the infidel system. Sweden will take in 180,000 migrants this year. Germany may take in 1.5 million. Most of them will be young men following the Mohammed retirement plan.

Europeans are being assured that the immigrating Mohammeds will balance out the demographic disparity of an ageing European population with too many retirees and too few younger workers. But instead, the Mohammeds will put even more pressure on the younger European workers who not only have to subsidize their elders, but millions of Mohammeds, their multiple brides and their fourteen child Islamic retirement plans. Retirement ages will go further up and social services for the elderly will be cut. The welfare state will collapse, but it will have to be kept running because the alternative will be major social unrest.

Among the triggers of the Arab Spring were rising wheat prices and cuts to food subsidies. Prices went up and governments fell as street riots turned into civil wars. Imagine a Sweden where 50 percent of the young male population is Muslim, mostly unemployed, turning into Syria when the economy collapses and the bill comes due. Imagine European Muslim street riots where the gangs have heavy artillery and each ghetto Caliph has his own Imams and Fatwas to back up his claims.

Europe is slowly killing itself in the name of "European values". It is trying to protect its economic setup by bankrupting it. European values have become a suicide pact. Its politicians deliver speeches explaining why European values require mass Muslim migration that make as little sense as a lunatic’s suicide note. Islamic values are not compatible with European values. Not only free speech and religious freedom, but even the European welfare state is un-Islamic. Muslims have a high birth rate because their approach to the future is fundamentally different than the European one. Europeans have chosen to have few children and many government agencies to take care of them. Muslims choose to have many children and few government agencies. The European values so admired by American leftists have no future.

Europe is drinking rat poison to cure a cold. Instead of changing its values, it is trying to maintain them by killing itself. The Mohammed retirement plan won’t save European Socialism -- it will bury it.

I will just add my closing remark that I think the above applies not only to continental Europe but also to the UK and potentially to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. I would have added "and the US", but I think Americans staved off that problem (at least temporarily) by electing Trump and letting the Repubs retain control of the Senate. If they elect a Democrat pres in 2020, or give Dems control of both houses of Congress, they put themselves right back in the Islamic cross-hairs.

Arab Muslim fertility rate is down to 2-3 children. Even Pakistani Muslims in inglaad have about 3-4 children, unless I am mistaken.

However it is true that these rates are almost twice the rates of the native population.

Another Sweden Houristan story. I get cognitive dissonance. Is SWEDEN really this far gone?
African voodoo. Kidnapping / sex slavery gangs. Islamist goons peddling grenades. {'#Sweden does not have an image problem. Sweden has a crime problem' OpEd by Graham Dockeryhttps://on.rt.com/a45m }
What about Norway?
I once tried to price a post-conference train vacation in Norway. Swiftly gave up on seeing the prices, and abandoned trip to the conference. I thought these places were uber-expensive, COLD places that took great Viking pride in their freedom. All reduced to ISIS sex slaves?
“They are holding women hostage and are tricking them [into believing] through the use of voodoo that it will end up badly for them if they quit the job,” Poljarevius said. “Yet, it is also about selling cocaine and heroin.”
Now, the police fear that the group’s rise in the city would lead to a wave of gang violence, as it will have to fight for its place in the sun in an already extremely crowded criminal environment. “There is a lot of cocaine but not so many users so the market is quite saturated. It would lead to violence rather than cooperation,” the police spokesman said.
Network of evil
Uppsala appears to be just the latest battleground for the gang that has already entrenched itself in other major cities like Gothenburg, or Sweden’s capital of Stockholm. In early October, the Swedish media reported that 15 people linked to the dreaded mafia have been charged with “particularly serious drug offenses” in what was described as one of the Swedish Customs Administration’s “largest investigations ever.”

Not only the britshit but even the conservative amerikhan interviewer (hoover institute is a conservative think tank) was saying BS like "Britain has no apologies to make. No reason to feel guilty" and mentioning niall ferguson and his whitewashing of britshit colonialism. The rot is deep on both sides of the atlantic lake.

Even when i want to sympathize and want to support britishits and amerikkkns on illegal migrants, muslim immigration, lunatic leftists on the campuses, the moment they start whitewashing colonialism of India, all my support and sympathies washes away and i hope karma will be a bitch.

Norway arrests US rw twit
U.S. citizen was arrested Saturday "on the basis of the Immigration Act section 106" including a suspicion that "he may play an obvious role in radicalization." PST didn't give the person's name, but he was identified by Norwegian media as Greg Johnson who was a scheduled speaker in the conference by the Scandza Forum, a far-right network known for its anti-Semitic and racist views. Based in Seattle, Washington, Johnson is a writer and editor-in-chief of the white nationalist Counter-Currents Publishing and a contributor to several publications.

Situation Naarmal in Paris:

On Saturday, a large tent belonging to a local circus troupe was set on fire in the Chanteloup-les-Vignes commune 27 kilometers (17 miles) north-west of the French capital. When police and firefighters arrived at the scene they were ambushed by a group of about 30 aggressive youths. The area quickly turned into some sort of 'battlefield' as police officers were targeted with stones, firecrackers, and Molotov cocktails..
Two officers were wounded in the clashes and police detained only two of the attackers, according to local media. The cost of the damage caused during the outbreak of violence is reportedly about 3 million euros.
“We obviously deplore these foolish and violent acts,” Philippe said on Monday. He insisted that the clashes were instigated by a “small gang of imbeciles… who think that breaking everything is the way to go.”
The violence was was a response by criminals to anti-drug measures implemented by police in the area, the head of the government pointed out. “We are determined to ensure that trafficking ceases and that order is restored and respected.”
However, not everybody was convinced that Chanteloup-les-Vignes was an isolated incident, saying that the scale of the problem of the so-called “urban guerillas” was far greater than the government was admitting. Critics insist the state had almost no control over ghettos in various parts of the country where the drug trade and extremist ideology strives, while the police endanger their lives every time they enter those districts. The government has turned a blind eye to the danger posed by lawless neighborhoods, Marine Le Pen, head of the National Rally party, said. She slammed Interior Minister Christophe Castaner and his associates for being “incompetent.”

“Where are the state and the authority [President] Emmanuel Macron?” National Rally spokesman Julien Sanchez added, sounding the alarm over the increased number of attacks against police.

Last month, more than 20,000 police officers took to the streets in Paris to protest against proposed pension reforms which could deprive them of bonuses. They were also protesting against being overworked due to the weekly Yellow Vest protests and France being in a state of emergency since the November 2015 terrorist attacks. Officers claim their work is now more dangerous with the number of assaults against them increasing 15% in 2019.

October was also marred by a brazen knife attack which took place inside police headquarters in Paris. A police staffer killed four officers with a ceramic knife, which he had smuggled undetected through metal detectors, before being shot dead.

NATO lovefest: Macroni calls NATO "brain-dead"
By calling NATO braindead and criticizing the US’ role in the alliance, Emmanuel Macron has shown a desire for European military independence but the political reality works against his will, analyst John Laughland told RT.
“Macron is very confused, like many European leaders. He wants things which are incompatible,” Laughland told RT.
He is naturally disposed to be pro-American. He comes from the Atlanticist elite of France. But he is horrified of Trump. The French leader earlier told the Economist that NATO is experiencing “brain death,” as member states cannot fully rely on the US to follow the bloc’s collective interests, and Europe needs to regain military sovereignty to fix that.

“The words Macron is using are interesting but I don’t understand how he expects to implement them,” Laughland said, noting that Macron has to deal with too many obstacles in order to achieve tangible military independence from Washington.

Von der Leyen: 'Europe must learn the language of power'
In the future, she added, the EU's partners should expect stronger positions from the bloc as the former strategy of exercising "soft power" is no longer enough in today's world.
