Muridke where JUD has its office is less than 20 miles from Amritsar district., An artillery shell can easily destroy and kill suar! All we need is satellite surveillance to check if he is there or not! Supreme court of India should sentence him to death and order Army to carry out this sentence.

France unhappy over Hafiz Saeed’s release
Says it will take steps to counter terror together with India

After the United States, France has also conveyed its anguish to Pakistan over the release of Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, who heads the United Nations-proscribed outfit of Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD).

French diplomatic sources said here that Paris has conveyed its deep concern to Pakistan over the release of Saeed whose outfit was listed as a terror group by the Sanctions Committee of the UN.

They said France and India will continue their “relentless” efforts to combat terrorism, and enhancing cooperation to deal with the menace will be an important aspect of French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit here in early 2018.”

In a strong reaction, India on Friday expressed outrage over Saeed’s release, calling it an attempt by Pakistan to mainstream proscribed terrorists and a reflection of its continuing support to non-state actors.

On Saturday, the United States also demanded immediate re-arrest and prosecution of Saeed, warning Islamabad that there would be “repercussions” for bilateral ties if it fails to take “decisive action” against the notorious terrorist.

The banned JuD head, who carries a $10-million American bounty on his head for terror activities, walked free on Friday after the Pakistan government decided against detaining him further in any other case.

“step in the wrong direction” and said a refusal to re-arrest him would damage bilateral ties and Pakistan’s international reputation around the world.

In a statement, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the US “strongly condemns” the release of Hafiz Saeed from house arrest and urged his “immediate re-arrest and prosecution”.

“Saeed’s release, after Pakistan’s failure to prosecute or charge him, sends a deeply troubling message about Pakistan’s commitment to combating international terrorism and belies Pakistani claims that it will not provide sanctuary for terrorists on its soil,” she said.

If Pakistan does not take action to lawfully detain Saeed and charge him for his crimes, its inaction will have repercussions for bilateral relations and for Pakistan’s global reputation.

This has to be a sick joke. Pakistanis harbouring bin Laden didn't have any repercussions for US-Pakistani relations, so we will waive that. Pakistani global reputation is that of an IT (International Terrorism) giant, so their `global reputation' will only be enhanced.

Cannibal of Mumbai carnage walks free
http://www.dailyexcelsior.com/cannibal- ... alks-free/

the author has brought out some truths on the US- Saudi- Baki relationship
excerpts
America’s demand that Pakistan should re-arrest Saeed and put him on trial for masterminding Mumbai carnage is ludicrous and comic. Islamabad knows that India is worth just a lollypop from Trump’s Pandora box. Let it be. Moreover, the US is not that naive to believe that Pakistani courts are professionally honest. Can the judiciary of a country, in which elected governments are overthrown by military dictators, enjoy the independence of delivering impartial judgment? Does not the US know that over the years it has massively contributed to Pakistani army concentrating power in its hands while allowing the politicos of that country wear the mask of democracy? Who has made GHQ what it is? And who is the US befooling by issuing comic statements? No sensible politician will even remotely think that re-trial of Saeed will not and cannot result in anything different from the verdict of Lahore High Court.
incidentally not so long ago the Paki courts freed Raymond Davis, so the US is well aware of the -impartial -judiciary of Paki
No other country in the world has mastered the art of duplicity as perfectly as Pakistan has. Mark how Pakistani ruling circles wear the mask of duplicity to mislead the world. While speaking at Asia Society in New York, Pakistan’s proxy Prime Minister Khwaja Asif said, “Hafiz Saeed is a liability” He termed Haqqani also a liability and added that Pakistan needs time to get rid of these liabilities.
Khwaja Asif indirectly wants to say that it is the court decision that has set Saeed free and Pakistan being a democracy respects independence of judiciary. This is the camouflage to hide real intentions. One may ask Khwaja Asif if you really think Saeed is a liability, why Pakistan government did not present charge sheet against him in the court of law. The court released him because there was no charge sheet. Obviously, it was with the understanding of the court that no charges were filed and the path of his release was kept clear. This is how Pakistan can hoodwink the world at large.
Knowing that the court had decided to release Saeed from detention, Pakistani made one more fake gesture of requesting the court to keep him under detention “because he was a threat to public safety.” Where did the threat to public safety evaporate in thin air when Saeed, after his release, immediately said he will campaign all over Pakistan for liberating Kashmir? Doesn’t that suit the Pakistan’s deeply indoctrinated public, judiciary, executive and the government? Is Hafiz Saeed a threat to the public safety or a guardian of public interests as he claims? Where then is the threat to public safety?
some facts on paki counter terrosism policy
Pakistan’s terrorism related policy can best be summed up in the phrase hunting with the hound and running with the hare. It is best reflected in former President Musharraf’s response to the then American President Bush in the context of 9/11 that Pakistan is “with the US” Today, America is haunted by Haqqani, Taliban and other armed groups nurtured by Pakistan in her safe havens. If Americans had not handled Pak military establishment with kid gloves, It would have been saved the humiliation of putting a prize of millions of dollars on the heads of terrorists of its own creation like Hafiz and Haqqani. Why the US is not Saddamizing or Ladenizing known security threats like Haqqani, Saeed, Azhar and others instead of dispatching envoy after envoy to Kabul and GHQ to sue for peace on their terms.
We know the inside of this narrative. Firstly because neither Saddam nor Osama was the creation of ISI while Haqqani, Saeed, Azhar and others of the ilk are the creation of CIA directly or indirectly. During the Afghan mujahedeen war against Soviet Union, these goons and many more were the apple of Pentagon’s eye. Secondly, and more importantly, these “designated” terrorists on Pakistani or Afghan soil are the blue-eyed boys of Saudi monarchy, fully patronized by that country’s secret agencies.

The importance and relevance of these jihadists increased manifold for the Saudi monarchy way back in 1979 when Iranian religious potentate Ayatollah Khomeini publicly announced export of Iranian Islamic revolution world over as the formal policy of the theocratic Islamic State of Iran. Saudi monarchy considered the slogan squarely directed against it. Khomeini substantiated the policy by asserting that the Saudi monarchy cannot claim to be the sole custodians of the holy sanctuary (bait-ul haram).
On the prompting of the US, Pakistan army agreed to deploy almost a full Brigade of its fighting force to be the bodyguard of the Saudi monarchy. Maintenance and salaries of the contingent are debited to the State Exchequer of Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, the reason why the US turned away her head on knowing that Pakistan was preparing to produce nuclear device should be probed into. The question is why the US came down heavily on Teheran for its “fault” of producing nuclear weapon but turned Nelson\s eye towards the identical adventure by Pakistan many y ears ago. The answer is that Pakistan said she was producing an “Islamic bomb” and its cost was met by the Saudis. Replace Islam with Saudi monarchy in the catch “Islamic bomb” and the cat walks out of the bag. Nuclearized Pakistan became deterrent to India and forewarning to Iran. Now that Iran is heading towards nuclear country status, Pakistan has shed its Islamic nuclear hegemonic status and is trying to mend fence with Iran.
Therefore in terms of realpolitik American warnings to Pakistan for its role as the fountain head of world terrorism is nothing more than symbolic This is a long drawn love-hate story between these two countries. Nothing extraordinary should be expected out of this spat. The US has indirectly accepted the jihadi legions of Pakistan as the “frontline of Pakistan’s defence against Indian invasion” as Pakistani Generals have often said. By offering huge annual military grants to Pakistan, the US is indirectly supporting the Theo-fascist outfits in Pakistan who survive on the crumbs thrown to them by Pakistani Generals.
The crucial question which Saeed’s release and his anti-India vitriolic raise is this: how is India going to react to the scenario? Saeed’s assertions have immensely boosted the spirit of Kashmiris who are “outright dissenters” and not “alienated” ones as the Indian authorities would feign to profile them. We hope the special envoy of the Government of India, now making hectic exercise of telling Kashmiri dissenters not to look to Pakistan and remain content with India will not fail to gauge the impact of Saeed’s outpouring.
and we should not be beguiled by these shenanigans of the Pak- Saudi - US
India should not be under any misunderstanding that her peace gimmicks will blunt the sharp edge of Kashmir Theo-fascism. The envoy must understand that when he meets with the groups of Kashmiris or with Kashmiri individuals, he is meeting the Islamic missionaries. We hope before burning more midnight oil he should try to read the writing on the wall. We do not mean to underestimate his mission we only want him to equip himself with harsh realities on the ground and dovetail his approach accordingly lest another fiasco is added to various earlier fiascos.

There were multiple players and plots in 26/11:
- TSP had Mumbai attack by LeT terrorists
- US had David Headley providing targets for Paki LeT
- Congress was running a Saffron Terrorists plot

What else?

Even a partitioned India has in time bounced back so much that the West fears us in the long term.Hence its insurance policy with Pak.What it truly fears is a Triad of Russia, China and India in a security alliance which will be so strong and magnetic, that it will attract to it the mass of smaller Asian nations, African ex-colonies,esp.S.Af. with its massive mineral wealth and spur the S.Am. states to go/remain socialist. The former Warsaw Pact E.European states are increasingly becoming disillusioned with their colour revolutions and a weakened EU and even the ME potentates have smelt the samovar and sulphur in Syria, courtesy Putin.

The supreme arrogance of the Chins and their ego-bloated latter-day Chairman prevents any movement on that score. When this happy event was hinted at by Sov.dpl. at a dpl. function years ago , I said it was most unlikely becos of the Chinese mentality. That has only worsened with its giant economic success and military modernisation and pro- active adventurism in the ICS. It will change only when India teaches it a "lesson" just as Vietnam taught it not too long ago.

A lot of planning went into the attack.

One odd thing is the Chabad House attack.

US reaction to the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s release of UN designated Mohammadden Terrorist Hafiz Muhammad Saeed delivered by US White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.

While a tad dated, nonetheless being posted for archiving the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting ways of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan:
The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release
November 25, 2017

Statement by the Press Secretary on Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) Leader

The United States strongly condemns the release of Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) leader Hafiz Saeed from house arrest in Pakistan and calls for his immediate re-arrest and prosecution.

LeT is a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization responsible for the death of hundreds of innocent civilians in terrorist attacks, including a number of American citizens. Saeed himself is a notorious terrorist who stands accused of having masterminded the November 2008 Mumbai attacks that killed 166 people, including six American citizens.

A clear international consensus exists regarding Saeed’s culpability—he was designated by the United Nations under U.N. Security Council Resolution 1267 in December 2008. The Department of the Treasury has designated Saeed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, and the United States, since 2012, has offered a $10 million reward for information that brings Saeed to justice.

Saeed’s release, after Pakistan’s failure to prosecute or charge him, sends a deeply troubling message about Pakistan’s commitment to combatting international terrorism and belies Pakistani claims that it will not provide sanctuary for terrorists on its soil. If Pakistan does not take action to lawfully detain Saeed and charge him for his crimes, its inaction will have repercussions for bilateral relations and for Pakistan’s global reputation.

As President Donald J. Trump’s South Asia policy makes clear, the United States seeks a constructive relationship with Pakistan, but expects decisive action against militant and terrorist groups on Pakistani soil that are a threat to the region. The release of Saeed is a step in the wrong direction.

The Pakistani government now has an opportunity to demonstrate its seriousness in confronting all forms of terrorism, without distinction, by arresting and charging Hafiz Saeed for his crimes.

Our country’s reaction to the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s release of UN designated Mohammadden Terrorist Hafiz Muhammad Saeed delivered by our MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.
Transcript of Weekly Media Briefing by Official Spokesperson (November 23, 2017)

November 24, 2017 ……………………………..

Question: You reaction to the decision by court in Pakistan to release Hafiz Saeed, that his detention was not extended. The Pakistani Government has said that he still is a threat to Pakistan but did not really provide any evidences including evidences provided by India to the court?

Official Spokesperson, Shri Raveesh Kumar: Any other question on Hafiz Saeed?

Question: Aatankwaadkolekar America ki jo chinta hai wo Haqqani Network aur Lashkar-e-Taiba ke liye bhi hai, aisa hum maan kar chalte they, lekin haal ke dinomein jo ek badlaavaayaa hai aur America Haqqani Network ki gatividhiyon ko lekarjyadachintaamein raha, Lashkar-e-Taiba ki gatividhiyon ko lekarnahi. Kya aapmaante hain ki ye ek wajah ho sakti hai ki Hafiz Saeed aajnazarbandnahi hai?

(We believed that the concerns of terrorism of America are same for both the Haqqani Network and Lashkar-e-Taiba, but recently there has been a change and we have seen America being more concerned with the activities of Haqqani Network and not that much with the activities of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Do you think this could be a possible reason that today Hafiz Saeed is not House Arrested?)

Official Spokesperson, Shri Raveesh Kumar: Any other question on Hafiz Saeed?

Question: On the same issue, recently we saw the US designating North Korea as a state sponsorer of terrorism, from India’s perspective does it thinks that Pakistan deserves or is a fit case to be declared state sponsored terrorism.

Official Spokesperson, Shri Raveesh Kumar: No, it is not a related question. I said any other question on Hafiz Saeed.

Question: Again on similar grounds, the State Department has told us that they have noted the release of global terrorist Hafiz Saeed. US has already given a last warning to the Pakistan, a last opportunity, do you think that perhaps bilaterally to the US it needs to be communicated much more that we need to move ahead of the terror designations and much more needs to be done to let Pakistan know that enough is enough?

Official Spokesperson, Shri Raveesh Kumar: Let me first read out the statement which I have on the release of Hafiz Saeed.

We have seen reports on the release of the leader of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and internationally proscribed terrorist Hafiz Saeed from House Arrest by Pakistan. As you are aware he was the Prime Organizer, he was not only the Master Mind he was the Prime Organizer of the Mumbai Terror Attacks in which many innocent Indians and many people from other nationalities were killed.

He is also responsible for unleashing numerous other terror attacks against Pakistan’s neighbors. His release confirms once again the lack of seriousness on the part of Pakistani Government in bringing to justice perpetrators of heinous acts of terrorism including by individuals and entities designated by the United Nations.

It also appears to be an attempt by the Pakistani system to mainstream proscribed terrorist. It is evident that Pakistan has not changed its policy of shielding and supporting non-state actors and its true face is visible for all to see. It is the responsibility of Pakistani Government to fulfill its international obligations and take credible and effective action against terrorists like Hafiz Saeed.

India as indeed the entire international community is outraged that a self-confessed and UN proscribed terrorist is being allowed to walk free and continue with his evil agenda.

Now coming to the two questions which are related, we have in our discussions with the US Government at different levels including at the level of the Foreign Minister, at the highest level as well, we have had very productive discussions on fighting the scourge and menace of terrorism.

Further, I do not agree with your assessment that there is a bit of softness by the US side on certain entities. I think we are trying to work together with them, we have worked with them and if you have seen the statements emanating from the US Administration in the past, I think it is very clear that we are on the same page as far as fighting terrorism is concerned.

26-11 Trial Of Headley Was Botched As Per This Opinion Piece .

The strange pardon of Headley
One more anniversary of the horrendous Mumbai attack passes us by. One more ritual of pointing out what’s wrong with our security apparatus; yet another repeat of castigating Pakistan for protecting Hafiz Saeed. But no one, it seems, is willing to ask why a trial, perhaps one of the most significant trials in a terror case, was allowed to collapse. Why was David Headley, accused number 2, converted to a pampered approver and prosecution witness number 1 with such scandalous alacrity?
On December 10, 2015, Headley, appearing for the first time on a video screen from an undisclosed location alongside his lawyers, expressed his desire to become an approver. It took the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Ujjwal Nikam a mere 30 minutes to confer with the investigating officer (IO) and turn in a “No Objection” certificate to the grant of pardon. Apparently, the SPP did not feel compelled to seek instructions from the government to discuss the grave consequences of pardoning the man who had conducted reconnaissance of the sites, photographing and videotaping Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels, CST station, Leopold café, Colaba police station so that attackers could familiarise themselves with the locations; who had hired boats to select landing sites for the attackers. It strains credulity to think that a decision with such ramifications could have been the result of an impromptu conference between the SPP and the IO. Headley being in US custody - the options for the Indian Govt are limited !
The charade of legality was reinforced by repeatedly announcing that Headley was now in the custody of the sessions court. It was crucial to fulfill the procedural requirements under the grant of pardon rules. If Headley was truly in the custody of the Indian court, why was Nikam’s argument that the US authorities had been requested only for four days of Headley’s presence accepted by the court in order to reject the defence’s application to defer the cross-examination by a few days? Even the period of Headley’s appearance was beyond the Indian court’s control. The US Govt can only go "so far" to embarrass the Non-Nato Al-lie . It still needs the co-operation of Pakistan to supply men and material to Afghanistan via Pakistan !
The court records its appreciation of the witness for “facing searching and gruelling cross-examination” — a small price, one would imagine, in return for complete amnesty. If the purpose of accepting Headley’s application to turn approver was the elicitation of the full extent of the terror attack conspiracy, one fails to understand why the prosecution and the court sought to protect him from the defence’s questioning.
n the end, whom did Headley indict? There isn’t a whisper in his testimony about the role, if any, of Syed Zabiuddin (alias “Abu Jundal”), the other accused, who unlike the mollycoddling Headley received, was subjected to months of solitary confinement in an airless bunker. Indeed, Nikam admits that Headley did not even mention him.
Did Headley, then, indict the Pakistani state? He does, after all, provide detailed accounts of the meetings, the shadowy and not-so-shadowy links between ISI and Lashkar, Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammad. But just weeks after Headley’s testimony, the government rolled out the carpet for Pakistan’s Joint Investigation Team in Pathankot. So Headley’s pardon was certainly not to nail the complicity of the Pakistani state or its agencies in the attack. And was someone fantasising that they could prosecute and try the assortment of actors named by Headley in his statement: Sajid Meer, Hafiz Saeed, Lakhwi et al. In whose elusive search did the prosecution so willingly renounce Headley’s extradition and trial?
In the end, there is only that 19-year-old girl from Mumbra. There, he said it, was the relieved reaction of sections of the media and the BJP when Headley named Ishrat Jahan as a LeT operative, after much cajoling and prompting by Nikam. “Reopen the Ishrat Files”, frothed many self-righteous news anchors, ruling party spokespersons and retired bureaucrats from intelligence agencies.

Not to forget that the US through its own sources knew more about the impending planned attack in Mumbai, than it warned the Indian Govt about the same !

What else?
US elections were also happening at the same time & an iraq like surge in afghanistan was being talked about. Any indian action would have had a huge impact on US plans

Yes. However if you note, the attacks happened after the elections were over.
And many accounts claim that attacks were launched earlier and called off due to various reasons.
So the timing of the US elections was not a major factor. It also happened at same time.

Dont think it was to influence the US elections. Pakis with all their cunningness can't look beyond means to a singular end: Harras India.

My sense it was to
1. disrupt any peace talks that might have been happening. I Remember there was a peace delegation that was in pukiland at that time even when the attacks were going on. The excuse given later was that they were visiting in some hinterland and couldnt hear what happened in India.
2. Bring US into calculus, especially when a paki pasand president will be in place. It was all but a done deal that Ombaba the O'bomber was going to win.

This incident. I was wondering whether anyone in this world has ever thought whether using drone technology to handle this episode. Someone from probably a research consortium/institution could probably design miniature drones....who could probably sneak up to these guys without them noticing. Then probably launch a catapult oriented injection to make them go to sleep in a matter of minutes.

I dont know if the big research folks have ever experimented finding a injectable sleeping agent that acts very rapidly ..more along the lines of a tranquilizer...on humans...may be ...only for a few minutes.

If there could be this solution through this technology, then probably those guys would not have had face the high intensity projectiles that were fired on them. This angle could probably be more effective in.. I hope not a repeatable incident. This would have helped agencies to question the attackers.

I saw this on youtube...very good and scary research done by this russian.

Which brings me to discuss so many applications. Something I should mostly not discuss but it is important to emanate this out and I think some folks might have envisioned it already. I hope ...that if people believe that the next few lines should be taken out, then I will be in their side but I felt there could be a school of thought to share to preserve the values of us common folks who go about doing their work in life....and have a few ideas in mind.

The US government correctly imposed a registration of buying drones. But I think it should be more stringent...even check travel of these toys.
I think this should be done by all governments. Period...even the companies who sell them should be in very closely working with governments.

First, drone technology can be used to drive out people who are dug in hidden caves, tunnels, any embedded enclosure...basically start a fire and cause smoke...that will lure this guys out.

I very very scary thought comes to mind when I put these toys together with someone from a chemical background.

I also think that drones can also act as initial screen approach pods who could screen a vehicle's underneath and trunk...can initial interaction and identity inspections in places like embassies, security perimeters, high value hotels and government buildings.

Or also like a situation when a cop in US pulls you over and you stop. He could launch a small miniature drone. All he has to do is give you the reason for being pulled over and serve you a ticket. He can pretty much write the ticket in his vehicle and launch it towards your vehicle. Interact for a few minutes, you take the ticket...the drone goes back to him. This puts him completely out of any possible sudden instinctive actions that he recognizes as a threat to his ability to serve and protect.

Anyone wants to rethink 26/11 in light of the Paki-Congress Summit in MSA's house in New Delhi?

I am coming around to think Congress was also a player in 26/11 attack.

MSA was Union Minister in 2008 -- I suspect any intelligence/security information that he received would surely have been passed to Pakistan. Most likely the same with information that went to VP Ansari.

Congress types like Antulay, I believe, were already blaming "Saffron Terror"

We are and will continue to remain their followers. A following vision that will guide to ....probably even...see their draw backs...but it is in our greatness to follow them in their visions...something that we have probably be un-forseen .....no matter what we have ****** not foreseen it. It is in our abilities to repeadedly be seen some thing so profound that we simply we and probably time and again...can only acknowledge their goals.

It is and will continue to be so foreign in our outlook to be compelled to even match their visions. It is not something that I enjoy but it is something that I so compellingly loved. Period. Nothing and no power can even take that idea from me and my fellow folks who express so much reservations about them. It is simply bowing and to simply endure.
