+ Trudeau was given the cold shoulder and snub because of his closeness and fluency with the Sikhs. The GOI institutions would not let that pass. Modi probably shares his disdain for the Sikhs.
MODI is the only PM that I remember talking about Sikh heroes on their anniversaries.

MODI was the first PM that went to Golden Temple and did sewa (volunatary service) distributing langar to sangat.

MODI hid as a Sikh during emergency days.

MODI knows Sikh history from inside out., very unlike past PM

MODI is a better Sikh that most "Visible Sikhs"

Sikhi does not mean keeping 5Ks and advocating killing innocent people., when Sikh Gurus themselves gave their lives to protect the honor and beliefs of many others.

I am happy just by knowing that the mudi did not insult tribals, dalits, ne secessionist, maoists by his "extremely shameful" treatment of the kanuck liberandu. Got to find positives in this thin skinned world.

How many Tamil MPs were a part of the entourage of the "Tamil-loving PM", who had time to play dress-up and bhangra all over India, yet not spare a day to visit Chennai?

imo, the problem is of over-analysing the situation, earlier entire diplomatic discourses were conducted between two participating nations in an official capacity and thus no feelings were hurt publically. In this everybody-connected world, people read between the lines, read the fine print, the body language, the gestures, the eye contact, the bhangra dancing skills, the book jacket, the blurb that is being presented; and when not satisfied they go to the medium of their choice and ghost write fantasy that is more suited to their narrative. Business meanwhile goes on as before notwithstanding the angst real or imagined.

India's indifference to the Sikh diaspora is damaging Western foreign policy towards the country

The problem is that the Indian elite sees any demand by Sikhs for justice over the anti-Sikh pogroms in 1984 as a sign of separatism
Almost identical thoughts put out by this rabidly anti-india columnist. Looks like there is a deliberate strategy on to equate Sikhs with Khalistanis and pretend that any Khalistani demand or interest is a wider Sikh one.

And now Justin Trudeau's lies unravel....this deserves to be widely disseminated and covered:

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/po ... e38108058/
A man convicted of attempted murder who was invited to a dinner reception with Justin Trudeau in India says he has a friendly relationship with the prime minister, and stayed away to save him from further embarrassment.
"We know each other. He knows my name, he'll come and say, 'Hey Jas, how you doing?' We have a good relationship I never see any problem," he said in the interview on Saturday. "But now he says, 'Oh Jaspal's not supposed to be here, this and that.' It surprised me."
He said he was travelling in India last week on a personal trip and questioned why Sarai is taking the blame alone for his invitation to the reception.

"I don't know why he's taking all the responsibility; he had nothing to do with that," he said. "The high commissioner, they're the one giving the invitation. Everyone's name goes through CSIS and the RCMP."

The aspirations of Sikhs for justice for 1984 are completely valid. It is indeed a failing of GOI that this legitimate interest of Sikhs has been swept under the rug (mainly because Congress and La Familia must be enshrined forever beyond the pale of legal recourse)... and the denial of justice is being exploited to the hilt by Khalistanis and their Paki supporters to broaden their base.

Like Hindus always are, Sikhs too are being expected to repress their collective memory of the past, let bygones be bygones, shrug off secular atrocities they have faced as a community and move on. Nothing like this is ever asked of Christians, Muslims, or the members of a pseuo-identity fabricated from whole cloth by Breaking India Forces: the so-called "Dalits".

The real shame is that Modi GOI too has done exactly nothing to bring the Congis behind 1984 to the gallows.

Look at the judiciary, its full of Congi, secular idiots , I am afraid nothing can be expedited till these Congress planted people are taken out . If they could give hell to Modi and Shah , 84 victims are far away in their priority. This Nehruvian Curse on Indians still have life left in it. R-man, I agree with the above part.

Sikhs, in general, have been and are very loyal to the nation, as if their loyalty has to be proven again and again. However, to ask them to forget what happened in '84, is like asking the Jews to forgive and forget, or the Hindus to forget the last 1000 years.

A legitimate government would have expedited all the cases against the alleged perpetrators (see the full list in one of my earlier post that someone asked me to delete) and settle the cases once and for all. The affected Sikhs dont want money or platitudes. They want justice.

About those overseas Sikhs that still support the khalistani nightmare, there should be no compromise on the Indian side by handing out ten year visas. By the way, the few peach farmers that I have met in California have no intentions of ever going back if, even for a fleeting moment, they get khalistan.

Indian Govt was denied access to guest list for Canada PM Justin Trudeau’s reception
...
Amidst questions over invitation of Khalistani terrorist for Justin Trudeau’s reception in India, reports have emerged that the Indian Government authority was also denied access to the guest list, reports CTV News. On that note, the Prime Minister’s Office in Canada does not allow even the security services track their guest list. Earlier, Canada’s Public Safety Minister hailed the security services in relation to the visit. “All Canadians can be assured that our police and our security agencies have done their job in relation to this visit and they have done it very well”, said Ralph Goodale, Canada’s Public Safety Minister, in the assembly, as quoted by CTV News.

King Abdullah II arrives in India for 3-day visit: Narendra Modi receives Jordanian ruler at New Delhi airport
New Delhi: King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, who arrived on Tuesday on a three-day visit, was accorded a grand welcome with Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving him at the airport, in a special gesture.

The Jordanian king's visit comes nearly three weeks after Modi travelled to Jordan as part of his trip to West Asia, including Palestine.
Narendra Modi‏Verified account @narendramodi

Welcomed His Majesty King Abdullah II to Delhi. It’s wonderful to meet him again, after my brief halt at Amman earlier this month. His visit to India will further deepen bilateral ties between our nations. I look forward to our talks on Thursday.

Replying to Scheer’s question if he agreed with the allegations that India was “complicit” in the “Jaspal Atwal affair”, Trudeau initially replied that the Opposition did not recognise the importance of the Canada-India relationship.

Reading from a document, Trudeau went on to talk about the economic ties between the two countries, saying that India contributes a lot to the Canadian economy.

Scheer repeated his question, and asked, “Does the Prime Minister agree or disavow those allegations?” Still reading from a document, Trudeau replied that his government, the Liberal party, respects the non-partisan nature of public service, and especially those who serve in Canada’s security agencies.

“We trust and listen to the advice and actions that they take, and that they will be in the national interest, and that they will be impartial,” he said.

Scheer then asked if the Prime Minister could confirm that anyone “arranged, organised, or participated in the media briefing provided to reporters, that included the allegation that the government of India was somehow involved in his embarrassing blunder in India.”

Trudeau replied that that his team performs “high quality, non-partisan public work”.

“And when one of our top diplomats and security officials says something to Canadians, it’s because they know it to be true,” Trudeau added.

Justin Trudeau Unfriends Jas (Atwal )

FATAH: Jaspal Atwal, the Aga Khan and Trudeau's shifting definition of friendship
Tarek Fatah
In the era of social media, the word ‘friend’ has lost some of its meaning. In fact, a new related word has cropped up in our language — the ‘unfriending’ of a friend. And its use has now reached the highest levels of our government with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ‘unfriending’ the convicted terrorist and would-be assassin Jaspal Atwal.
Perhaps Trudeau just doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘friend’. Maybe papa Trudeau should have gifted young Justin a copy of the works of the great Arab-American poet and novelist Khalil Gibran, who once said: “Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity.”
And if Gibran does not ring a bell with Trudeau (after all, the Arab Catholic community in Canada is hardly a vote bank to be cultivated and harvested),... :D
People that Trudeau claims to be close friends, turn out to be fake friends, while those who claim that he is their friend, are disavowed by him.
Take the case of the Aga Khan, who Justin Trudeau never met once over 30 years, yet boasted close ties. Canada’s Conflict of Interest Commissioner Mary Dawson stated unambiguously, “Trudeau had no personal or private interactions with the Aga Khan and his family between 1983 and April 2013,
But the same Trudeau disavows friendship with Jaspal Atwal, with whom he has been photographed multiple times long before he was prime minister. Yet despite this evidence, Trudeau claims he knows not the man he apparently addressed as “Jas”, at least according to how Atwal tells it.
Enough has been written about Atwal, but just as a refresher he was convicted of attempting to kill Indian cabinet minister Malkiat Singh Sidhu during the Indian politician’s visit to Vancouver in 1986.
Surrey Centre MP Randeep Sarai is the Liberal parliamentarian who apparently put Atwal’s name on the reception in India that Trudeau was attending.Four days ago Trudeau declared, “I will be having a conversation with that MP in Canada next week.” He hasn’t yet. This leaves us lesser Canadians who have no vote banks to offer, a bit confused. How does one know who is Trudeau’s friend; the billionaire Aga Khan, or the supposedly reformed Khalistani Jaspal Atwal?

Read the post through to end. Although the first half talks about the failings of the Canadian govt; the second half subtly points to all the recent Chinese infiltration into Canadian politics and bureaucracy and the author is implying that there could be a Cheen hand to prevent India-Canada reconciliation; especially on Khalistan front.

Whilst I agree that the massacre of Sikhs in 1984 must be fully atoned for, we must agree that this is a Congress Party atrocity on Sikhs and retribution must come from Congress party. Surprisingly even though they had a Sikh PM, they did nothing to bring the murderers to justice or even to apologise.

Why hold this against the rest of the nation, who were helping protect the Sikhs?

At the very least it's shameful to see Sikhs vote Congress.

I have been to Canada at least 9 times over the years.
From what I have seen of these khalistani's (in the UK as well) the older generation is filling the younger generations with ideas of greatness and glory from the times of M. Ranjit Singh, the younger generation are keen to re-establish their roots and have grasped onto these fables & stories.
After all everyone wants to know who they are and where their roots lay.
The khalistani's & their paki supporters are trying to develop a fictional historical enmity between the Hindu & Sikh communities, which obviously has never/will never exist. I would say that only about 5% of the Sikhs I have met are khalistani.

The khalistani propaganda often likes to harp on about caste injustice, however the Ravidassia community has disowned these people. I believe approx. 26-35% of Punjabs population belongs to this community.
The shootings/murder of two Sants in Vienna a few years ago, the events in Talhan also a few years ago have made other Sikh communities realise what khalistan will mean for them.

The sure way to kill khalistan is to develop Punjab at a rapid pace.

Justin Trudeau Backs Official In Row Over Khalistani Terrorist, India Sees Red
...
The opposition Conservative Party raised the issue in Canadian parliament, demanding to know whether Mr Trudeau agreed with the remarks of the official, identified by the Canadian media as national security adviser Daniel Jean.
"Will the prime minister tell the house whether or not anyone in his office arranged, organised or participated in the media briefing provided to reporters that included the allegation that the Government of India was somehow involved in his embarrassing blunder in India?" asked opposition leader Andrew Scheer.
"Our professional, non-partisan public service does high quality work and when one of our top diplomats and security officials says something to Canadians, it's because they know it to be true," said Mr Trudeau in his response.
Reacting strongly to Mr Trudeau's remarks, the ministry of external affairs said, "We categorically state that the Government of India, including the security agencies, had nothing to do with the presence of Jaspal Atwal at the event hosted by the Canadian High Commissioner in Mumbai or the invitation issued to him for the Canadian High Commissioner's reception in New Delhi. Any suggestion to the contrary is baseless and unacceptable."

If this is the case:

The man who nominated Atwal must be an Indian agent.

The matter reflects very poorly on the liberals, the PM’s office and vetting the agencies, for the invitation and for the above.

After Trudeau aide's claims, opposition to move motion for India

TORONTO: The controversy created by an invitation to former convicted Khalistani terrorist Jaspal Atwal for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's dinner in Delhi last week has created a storm in Canadian politics, with the opposition moving a motion to support India's unity and condemn Khalistani separatists.

The issue snowballed into a major issue in Canadian parliament on Tuesday after Trudeau's national security advisor alleged that the invitation to Atwal was arranged by some elements in the Indian government to sabotage Trudeau's India visit.

With India rejecting the allegations as "baseless and unacceptable", the opposition Conservative Party on Wednesday asked Trudeau to respond to India's rebuttal.

Trudeau defended the allegations against India by his national security advisor, and said: "When one of our top diplomats and security officials says something to Canadians, it is because they know it to be true."

Calling the allegations against India "bizarre", opposition Conservative Party leader Andrew Scheer asked Trudeau: "Will the Prime Minister produce some kind of proof for his conspiracy theory?"

The Opposition party is moving a motion in parliament on Thursday to condemn Khalistani separatists and pledge support to India's unity.

The motion says: "That the House: (a) values the contributions of Canadian Sikhs and Canadians of Indian origin in our national life; (b)Condemn in the strongest terms all forms of terrorism, including Khalistani extremism and the glorification of any individuals who have committed acts of violence to advance the cause of an independent Khalistani state in India; and (c) Stand with a united India."

It will be interesting to see how Trudeau and many Sikh MPs of his party respond to the motion.

The Atwal controversy marred Trudeau's visit to India. A former member of the banned International Sikh Youth Federation, Surrey-based Atwal spent years in jail in connection with the 1986 assassination attempt on then Punjab Minister Malkit Singh Sidhu during his visit to Canada.

He was also involved in attack on Ujjal Dosanjh in the mid-198s in Vancouver.

Atwal, whose picture with Trudeau's wife in Mumbai, led to the controversy and cancellation of his invitation for dinner with Trudeau in Delhi, was on India's blacklist for many years.

Trudeau has said that he doesn't know Atwal. But Atwal has told the Canadian Press that he has known Trudeau for many years.

"We know each other. He (Trudeau) knows my name, he'll come and say, 'Hey Jas, how you doing?' We have a good relationship I never see any problem. But now he says, 'Oh Jaspal's not supposed to be here, this and that.' It surprised me."

Esteemed Ladies & Gentlemen Forumites : The Khalistani Movement - it is alleged - was Financed by the CIA, Trained by the S A S and Manned, Based, Groomed & Sheltered by the Terroristanis. Canadian, Austrailian & Other Khalistanis are a later development.

The NSA of Canada shamelessly claiming that Indian intelligence has successfully penetrated his establishment and handed out invitations as it pleases, is sweet music. Does he mean that Liberal MP, Shree Randeep Sarai is an "unregistered agent" of India, since he is the one who took responsibility for the invite? :rotfl:

What sort of a shoddy security structure does the NSA oversee, if an environment rich in high value targets does not have guest-list vetting?

If he has any shame, Trudeau should consider resigning along with his NSA, rather than sacrificing a Canadian-Sikh for their foibles

For quite some time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has been seeking assurances and hoping for evidence that whatever Trudeau’s avant-garde eccentricities, Canada’s intelligence and security files were being managed by grownups

Anyone remember the douchebag Gibbs and his defense by Obama?

There is no end to these crypto-white supremacist morons and their arrogance, when in India.

No J&K in India map at reception hosted for Canadian PM Written

The long list of embarrassments for team Justin Trudeau only became longer. A columnist with the Ottawa Citizen has said that during the reception at the Canadian High Commissioner's residence in New Delhi, a map of India was displayed, but the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir was omitted.
