Iran is already reeling under sanctions. A slight increase in oil imports could be used to divert the additional oil to storage depots. Oil prices continue to rise, the later we do it, the costlier it will get. Iran could be paid in kind if dollars are a problem. The oil can also be bought from SA or other countries depending on the kind required.

how the heck does cost escalate from 1600 crore to 23000 crores??? and it's only an 8 year difference between projection and reality...are the brains behind these projections so pathetic? if not, there is something seriously wrong with the algorithm they used to come up with that number. that is a 14x cost escalation in a matter of 8 years....something is seriously haywire!

even accounting for the crude oil price escalation, the difference is still way too high.

How the ISI forged the Naxal nexus?
October 20, 2012

The statement by Naparajit Mukherjee the Director General of Police, West Bengal regarding a nexus between the naxals and the ISI is something that needs to be taken seriously. There has been talk about this link since the past three years and during the course of investigation, the police, Intelligence Bureau and also the anti naxal force have been able to understand that this link was established through a group in Dubai.

The first move was made by the ISI three years back as they realised that if they exploited this internal problem and funded the naxal movement, they could have furthered their cause of causing destability in India. However at first the naxals were not ready for this liaison as they did not want to be branded as anti naxal. Moreover they thrived on local support and any links with a Pakistan agency would have been fatal to their cause.

Sources however add that although the naxals refused any help at first they did not close their doors on the offer as they too realised that if the situation turned worse for them then they could rely on financial help.

When the first move was being made by the ISI, they used smugglers based out of Dubai to strike a deal. They ensured that only Indian nationals were part of this initial deal. What the ISI took into consideration was the funds crunch that the naxals were facing and hence decided to break them on that front.

The first of the clues that the police got when they busted a gang with fake currency who were operating between Karnataka, Kerala and Dubai. When the police arrested an operative by the name Altaf, he said that he was trying to establish a link between the underworld in Dubai and the naxals. Moreover he was instructed to hand over Rs 25 lakh to a naxal sympathiser who in turn was supposed to strike a deal between the ISI and the naxals.

During the interrogation the police were told that they were transporting fake currency and were also trying to establish a link between the naxals and a group in Dubai. The police found later that this group in Dubai was into smuggling and were playing a huge part in the fake currency racket as well. This group was also contributing funds to the ISI which was being used to fund terror operations.

The police also found a gang in India was acting as a link between the naxals and the Dubai gang and the idea was to pump in funds, which the naxals were in need of. This gang did manage to get in touch with some naxal leaders and offer financial assistance. Although the ISI found it hard at first, they finally did manage to lure the naxals.

The ISI has also made several other attempts to lure the naxals through operatives in Kashmir and also members of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. The ISI sent in a person by the name Umer Madani who is a Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative to hold talks with the naxals. However before he could strike any deal, he was arrested by the Delhi police. During his questioning he told the police that he was trying to pass on money to naxals. The next attempt was made by a person by the name Yusuf Salim who too confesses that he had been sent in from Kashmir to strike a deal with the naxals.

However the success came when the ISI roped in home grown outfits with established links in India to carry this nexus forward. For this a cadre of the Students Islamic Movement of India was roped in. Cadres of the SIMI relocated into areas where the naxal movement was strong. It was around the same time that the government decided to crack down on the movement and in the battle with the security agencies, the naxals were pushed to the wall. Their funds dried out and also they were unable to get supply of arms and ammunition. The naxals had dedicated routes which were all blocked by the police and it was at this time that the SIMI cadres came into the picture. These Pakistani backed groups had a better network and were well versed with the international routes through which arms and ammunition could be smuggled in.

The strongest link that the police have found is in West Bengal. The logistics work better for both the SIMI and the naxals, an intelligence bureau official pointed out. Groups such as the HuJI who have also taken the help of SIMI cadres have a dedicated network in West Bengal and hence any movement of arms ammunition or funds is easier in this state.

Agencies however warn that while this problem is biggest in West Bengal, they have also found that ISI backed groups are trying to reach out to the naxals in other states as well. There has been some movement in Andhra Pradesh where an attempt is being made to revive the naxal movement. In addition to this the problem could also arise in Maharashtra, the Intelligence agencies feel.

In this nexus it is the ISI which had more to gain. For them the entire idea of continuing to destablise India would have been done through the naxal movement. They also do realise that the naxals enjoyed a great deal of local support and hence were able to battle Indian forces well. Hence for the ISI it was more of an investment to destablise India.

BS. The connection existed from 1972. Then it was through the East Pakistan intel, and then the BD regime's intel section - which always had a Paki intel handle in it, through all the dictatorships as well as AL/BNP interludes. Naxalites were also used by "us" to train and pass on stuff across the border. The omniscient intel must have known about this throughout.

We have been talking of the red-green nexus along the Siliguri-Malda corridor in the north, and through the Midnapore-Orissa corridor in the south for more than three years on the forum. The smuggling angle and connection to the gulf was specifically mentioned here.

All they have to do to break the chain, is clean up Murshidabad to start with starting with the Palasi-Jiagunj sector - the very area used to estabilish now the Presidential dynasty. They will of course have to eliminate the islamic institutional network there, and eliminate "villages". Then look up the congrez strongholds around Malda, another key node in the network. Clean up the zone around phuntsholing, and the Sukna corridor - stretching to Nepal through to China [Birgunj is a node]. In each of these sectors they must be knowing about the Islamic biz and institutional connections.

Back down through Jharkhand and into the Mahadeo hills.

If they protect the islamists, why shout about ISI nexus to the reds? BS. Another nice try at shifting the blame outside the country.

Indian Mujahideen bomber Fasih extradited from Saudi
Fasih Mohammed, a suspected Indian Mujahideen operator and a key accused in the Delhi and
Bangalore blasts, was today arrested after he was deported from Saudi Arabia. Fasih, 28, after being in detention for five months in Saudi Arabia, was taken into custody from
Delhi airport on his arrival from the Gulf, official sources said.

India had sought deportation of Fasih from Saudi Arabia and also got an Interpol Red Corner notice issued against him.

An engineer and believed to be a member of the banned outfit Indian Mujahideen, Bihar-born Fasih is alleged to have been involved in the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast in Bangalore and the shooting near Jama Masjid (Delhi), both in 2010, and is wanted by Delhi and Karnataka police.

His name cropped up during the interrogation of suspected IM terrorists arrested during the last nine months.

As said before, here is the official version

After Fasih, Saudi Arabia deports another terror suspect
Saudi Arabia has handed over to India a suspected LeT operative, who was wanted by Kerala Police in connection with a 2009 explosive haul case.

A Rayees, believed to be an associate of banned Pakistan-based terror outfit's member Thadiyantavide Nazir, was deported to Mumbai where he was arrested by Kerala Police about a fortnight ago.

"Rayees was deported by Saudi Arabia and Kerala Police took his custody," Union Home Secretary R K Singh said.

Rayees was named as the third accused in a case relating to seizure of ammonium nitrate from Chakkarakkal in Kannur in 2009. During the period of investigation, he had slipped out to Saudi Arabia.

Ammonium nitrate, a controlled commodity, is frequently being used by terrorists to carry out blasts.

Highly placed sources said Rayees was first arrested in the Gulf country for alleged visa violation and he was deported when he completed his sentence there.

A suspected Indian Mujahideen operative Fasih Mohammed was arrested by Delhi Police today after his deportation by Saudi authorities.

Before the deportation of Rayees and Fasih, Saudi Arabia had deported Abu Jundal, an alleged handler for the terrorists who ravaged Mumbai in India's worst-ever terror attacks in November, 2008.
The momeen was arrested in the holy land by the pure and not in kaffir yindia as suggested by RAA ajints.

The NIA was FORCED to soft-pedal 26/11 case
Former Intelligence Bureau special director Ravindra Narayan Ravi discusses various security issues daunting India in an interview Vicky Nanjappa. The National Investigation Agency, he states, could not pursue its very first case with professional vigour due to political interference as it was forced to soft-pedal the case against dreaded terrorists.
What needs to be done on the state of co-ordination between the Intelligence Bureau and the state police?

Institutions like the Multi-Agency Centre at the federal level and its subsidiaries at the states have improved co-ordination between the IB and the state police.

Besides, IB maintains good operational co-ordination with special operational units of the state police departments. However, the extant institutional co-ordination falls short of the comfort level ensuring effective preventive security.

Trust deficit between the Centre and the states is at the root of the issue. So long as there is absence of a national consensus on core security concerns, this will persist. Besides, the state police need not and should not be a mere consumer of IB's reports. State intelligence infrastructure must be restructured and revamped to make it robust. That will help somewhat overcome the states' present distrust of the Centre.

How serious is the threat of illegal immigrants and which are the problem areas?

India has been a host to immigrants from almost all its neighbours except from Bhutan. A fairly sizeable number of them are undocumented. They are mostly from Bangladesh, Tibet, China and Myanmar.

While those from Tibet and Myanmar are purported to be here to escape persecution in their countries, those from Bangladesh are essentially economic migrants.

Those from Tibet and Myanmar usually retain their national identities, however those from Bangladesh acquire fake Indian identities.
This is a serious issue with serious security and political implications for the country. Their demography is such that they distort the ownership of several places.

The badly affected areas are Assam, West Bengal and Bihar. Other potential areas are Nagaland, Delhi, Odisha and some areas of Maharashtra. The threats from such undocumented immigrants-turned-'Indians' are serious
.

The ministry of home affairs is perceived to resolve the Assam crisis sitting across the table. Has the solution been found?

The crisis in Assam persists. Influx of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants has not been stemmed. The MHA has been less than honest in addressing the issue.

Instead of appreciating the problem which is of existential concern for the natives, the MHA reflexively assumes an adversarial position vis-a-vis the agitating public and seeks to defeat them through guile.
Your views on the gravity of Indian Mujahideen as a threat and whether their shifting base from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia would make it easier for India to tackle them.

The Indian Mujahideen continues to pose serious security threats to the country. India cannot afford to lower its guard against them. Their operations from Saudi Arabia do not necessarily make them more vulnerable.

Saudi Arabia's intelligence co-operation with India is essentially US-driven. It would be naive to read too much into such a co-operation.

Your views on Kerala as a hub of terrorist groups? A large part of hawala remittances in Kerala are allegedly used for subversive activities?

Beyond some anecdotal evidence there is nothing to suggest that Kerala shelters terrorist groups. To call it a hub of terrorists is a mischievous hyperbole. It is true that the state once known for exemplar communal amity is going through bouts of religious intolerance. It is a very serious matter. Much of the recent trends in thoughts and behaviour owe themselves to the exposure of Kerala Muslims to the Wahabi strand of Islam prevalent in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
our take on left wing extremists' likely tie-up with Pakistan-based groups?

Left-wing extremists are a serious threat no doubt. So far measures to defeat them have failed. However, there is no credible evidence to support the thesis that they are tying up with Pakistan-based groups. Indeed they have a tie-up with some insurgents of the North-East.

Full text....
In 2002, Mohammed Sadiq Sheikh, 26, of Mumbai, travelled to Pakistan via the Bangladesh border and attended a terror training camp, according to a security analysis documenting the emergence and spread of the Indian Mujahideen. After he returned, Sadiq sent two others, Arif Badaruddin Sheikh and Dr Shahnawaz, to Pakistan via Dubai, says the report, compiled by a central agency.

From those early recruitment steps, the IM has grown today to an estimated 100 cadres, around 50 of whom have been arrested since 2008 while the rest remain spread across India. The four men arrested by Delhi police for the August Pune blasts, as well as Bihar resident Fasih Mehmood, deported from Saudi Arabia and arrested, have all been described by police as IM operatives.

The key people responsible for running and funding the IM, however, remain out of reach, the report says.

The early years

“It appears that the IM was formed as an offshoot of ARCF (the Asif Reza Commando Force),” the report says.

The report says the group began its “war against India” as early as 2002 but not under the name by which it is known today. It cites the 2002 attack on the American Center in Kolkata, masterminded by Amir Reza Khan and Aftab Ansari to avenge the death of Amir’s brother Asif, as the first major terror act of this group. Later that year, Amir, helped by Riyaz Bhatkal, is said to have recruited Sadiq Sheikh and sent him for training to Pakistan. Sadiq was arrested by Mumbai ATS in 2008.

{Werent there reports that the American Center attack was funded by ransom from kidnap victims in Kolkata?}

The report names Amir, Riyaz and Iqbal Bhatkal as the founder-members of the IM. Intelligence agencies believe the three were supported and guided by the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and HuJI-B, whose members helped them build a small army of home-grown jihadis. The initial recruits were youths from prosperous but conservative Muslim families from Azamgarh, it says.

[]{This is where the report's credibility takes adive. LeT, HUJi whatever dont have the skill set to train terrorist operatives who are really covert action figures. Its an intel agency that does such things. And Azamgarh wasn't that the place, (Batala House raid aftermath) visited by Digvijay Singh? Were those prosperous folks that he visited?}[/i]

“The first groups of recruits were from Saraimeer and Sanjarpur villages of Azamgarh district. Almost all the operatives belonging to Azamgarh studied together in school, several went to New Delhi for higher studies in business administration, computers and the media. The Azamgarh jihadists appear to have been drawn to the IM, angered by the 2002 communal riots in Gujarat,” the report says.

[i{Is there any terrorist who doesnt claim some Gujarat connection! Also note the founders of IM are from Western India yet the main cadre is from Azamgarh? }[/i]

In 2005 and 2006, while this group is believed to have started executing terror attacks, Riyaz Bhatkal was allegedly forming a logistic support base in his native Bhatkal and readying another group for similar activities in southern India. This group was named as the southern module of the IM, states the report.

“The southern group traces its origin in Bhatkal town of Karnataka. Riyaz and Iqbal hailed from Bhatkal and recruited youths from colleges and nearby locality to attend ‘durs programme’ at Bhatkal,” the report says. Among IM members allegedly indoctrinated in Bhatkal, some are believed to have taken have taken shelter in Muscat, Dubai and Pakistan.

The report says three maulanas, Shabbir (arrested from Pune in 2008-09), Sultan and Sajid, wooed youths for Riyaz and Iqbal Bhatkal. Among the alleged recruits were Mohd Ahmad Siddibappa alias Yasin Bhatkal who has so far emerged the most elusive IM operative. According to a dossier on Yasin, “When the family of Yasin came to know about his involvement in durs programmes, they sent him to Dubai during 2006 to engage him. But he escaped from Dubai and was once seen with al-Qaeda supporters in Abu Dhabi. He managed to reach India in 2007 and he rejoined the Iqbal-Riyaz gang in Mangalore. According to captured associates, Yasin has been trained in the making of nitrate bombs.”
:?:
Attacks and claims

The report says the name IM surfaced for the first time in November 2007 when emails were released to the media claiming responsibility for blasts in courts of Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi. The mail also claimed responsibility for the 2005 Delhi Diwali blast, the 2007 Varanasi blast, the 7/11 Mumbai train blasts and the 2007 Hyderabad Gokul Chat and Lumbini Park blasts. It cited the Babri Masjid demolition and Gujarat riots as a revenge motive, the report says.

Until then, the blasts cited had been believed to be the work of terror groups based in Pakistan. Some of the earlier suspects are, in fact, still facing trial. :?: The report agrees that initially, security agencies dismissed the claims made in the emails, which they felt had been sent only to mislead them.

On May 13, 2008, another email, this one owning responsibility for the Jaipur blasts, convinced security agencies with photo clips showing a bicycle (along with the number) strapped with an IED and parked at Kotwali police station of Jaipur. Once again citing the Babri demolition and the Gujarat riots, the email described the IM as an organisation with three separate wings, the report says.

A third email was released just before the Ahmedabad serial blasts on July 26, 2008. It had even a logo attached to it. Captioned “The rise of jihad, revenge of Gujarat,” it dwelt on the way Muslims were treated in Gujarat.

The names of the group’s operatives were largely unknown until the Batla House encounter of September 19, 2008, leading to what police call a breakthrough. Mohammed Atif Ameen and Mohd (Chhota) Sajid, who died in the encounter, were described as IM operatives. With the number of arrests that followed across the country, police found the IM had been involved in blasts since since as early as February 2005.

During its initial years, the IM had formed a small IT-savvy team to spread its ideology. According to the report, Riyaz Bhatkal tapped educated people with software skills and articulate speakers, especially in English. The IM released five manifestos on its thoughts. The IT team of the IM was busted during a crackdown in 2008.

Since 2008, the e-mails have ceased. The IM is believed to have been responsible for the German Bakery (Pune) and Varanasi blasts of 2010, Mumbai’s 13/7 blasts of 2011 and the Pune blasts of 2012.

The later modules

Two modules other than Azamgarh and Bhatkal surfaced later, one from Pune in 2009 and the other from Darbhanga in 2011. They had already been active for some years.

Investigators say the Pune group, whose members were trained near Pune and Aurangabad, is believed to have carried out blasts at the Lumbini Park at Hyderabad in 2007 and attempted serial blasts in Surat in 2008.

The second wave of IM strikes in February 2010 is believed to have been carried out by the Pune and Darbhanga modules. Unlike their Azamgarh counterparts, these recruits are said to be driven not by ideology but by the promise of monetary rewards.

The Darbhanga module, busted by the special cell of Delhi police, is suspected to have been behind the 2011 Mumbai 13/7 blasts, the 2010 Jama Masjid attack, the 2010 Chinnaswamy Stadium blast in Bangalore and the 2010 German Bakery blast in Pune. Police say Fasih Mehmood is part of this module. Yasin Bhatkal and Fasih allegedly became part of the IM circuit in 2002 while they were studying engineering at Bhatkal.
A lot of facts in this report. Would be nice if we listed them chronologically.
Also tie in the DCH surveillance of Pune German bakery.

How does that tie into this group being responsible?
Were they outsourced by the Paki handlers?

Secretary of the Tamil Nadu State Medical Wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, V. Arvinth Reddy, was murdered in front of his clinic on L.P.M. Street in Kosapet area here on Tuesday night.

According to the police, 38-year-old Dr. Reddy, a diabetologist, was coming out of the clinic when a motorcycle-borne three-member gang stabbed him with a knife at the back of his neck.

He died on the spot. The body was sent for post-mortem to the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital, Adukkamparai.

M.P. Ganesamoorthy, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Vellore Range, and I. Eswaran, Superintendent of Police, Vellore district, visited the spot and conducted enquiries.

Four special teams have been formed to nab the culprits. The motive behind the murder was not known. “We are looking at various angles”, said a police officer.

Dr. Reddy contested unsuccessfully as the BJP candidate from the Vellore Assembly Constituency in the 2011 elections.

He was also the Vellore district president of the Indian Medical Association. He is survived by doctor wife Sudha, a son and a daughter.

Pon. Radhakrishnan, State president of BJP, L. Ganesan, national executive committee member, Mohanrajulu, State organising general secretary, Vanathi Srinivasan, State secretary, and Gunasekharan, Vellore zonal organising secretary, visited the house of Dr. Reddy in Rangapuram here to pay homage.

Mr. Radhakrishnan told newspersons that the BJP proposed to organise a State-wide agitation in all district headquarters on October 26, condemning the murder and demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits.

He said he would be participating in the agitation in Vellore.

Flash strike

The State branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) observed a flash strike in all government and private hospitals in Vellore district on Wednesday to condemn the murder.

IMA State secretary J.A. Jayalal said over 600 doctors participated in the strike. The IMA representatives also met State Health Minister V.S. Vijay, who has been elected from the Vellore district, and petitioned for a speedy enquiry into the murder.

Dr. Jayalal said if the government did not show any progress in the investigation within a week, IMA would resort to relay fasting in front of the Secretariat.

Another doctors’ association - Doctors Association for Social Equality – also condemned the murder.

From Amar Ujala:

This is an observation of moi, an inconsequential internet Hindu, that people from 'peaceful' community are setting themselves up for serious push-back by indulging in these nonsensical acts. I have traveled over large parts of North India this year and I can see and at times sense a pressure build-up. From taxi drivers to hotel waiters to government employees to tour guides...all of them common folks going about their job and earning their bread and butter. It seems one of these acts is going to go just too far and something is going to snap...I see a repeat of Mumbai happening in one of the big centers in North. I really hope I'm incorrect.

I hope you are. The first time I heard such a thing was SSwamy saying that if the muslims push the hindus too far, it might create a pre WW2 situation in Germany where a Hitler like personality could rise. This was an interview to a gora so the Hitler analogy makes sense. But the point is shivaji & guru nanak could rise in such situations gives a lot of hope. Modi is also a creation of the media. His pan Indian popularity is due to the cong media. It is said that oppressors create their own destroyers.

No pushback. They are too well entrenched now. Look at the spatial distribution and how contiguous they are. The pushers have no single leadership. While the peaceful are quiet well organized, even if a single leader is not visible. But the leadership exist alright - in all the major regional player parties, and the educational centres of course. Problem is also that the state will support them with full power.

From twitter

Muslims who resorted to violence, molesting of women constables, arson n Looting at Azad Maidan, r getting bail easily http://t.co/H3SrGcxL

Communal riots in Hyderabad; several injured, 7 arrested. Trouble started wen Mohammad Arif was loitering near a temple http://t.co/nOek0NJr

One killed, four injured in a grenade attack on Hindus who were returning from Durga Idol Immersion procession (Asom) http://t.co/Qqq9SiNU

And so on and so forth...how convenient that such "isolated" incidents are not dot-connected. Media actively buries anything that hurts psec interests. Sadly, the case of Kerala shows that even after being reduced to 50% of the population, the Hindus are unable to organize and pushback. Darwinian lessons are dying to be taught the hard way, I guess.

If certain other countries are not doing that well economically - there is a complicated set of steps that might lead to exactly what you say. At the moment, the three chief among them - UK, USA, PRC are sort of paralyzed in their decisionmaking where it concerns Islam/Muslim. They have always known the risks, but at this point - they are no longer sure that whatever they do - things will remain under control in the sense that Islamic loyalty to these three will remain unaffected.

Pakistan has almost no other way - and hence the Pakistan connection of UK, will be a reliable connection for these three. But outside of Pakistan, things are not that straightforward. In fact, my hunch is that if non-Paki Islamism gets more anti-US, that will strengthen the Pak position vis-a-vis Paki handles in UK decisionmaking [or UK handles in Paki decisionmaking]. In turn this means - out of greater continuing historical base of the British among the elite in the ex-colonies, enforced US and PRC reliance on these Britsh interfaces.

Greater strength of Pakis in the UK-USA-PRC scene, can lead to destabilization attempts on the north. If this threatens entrenched biz interests in the north, then out goes rashtra support.

Fasih is India's passport to nab terrorists
Sources told rediff.com that there are a large number of educated persons settled abroad who help the IM carry out its tasks. These persons continue to work on valid work permits and avoid the scanner. In Fasih's case, the police have found that he has been in the business since the past decade while maintaining a low profile at all times.

Fasih had been on the radar of agencies for almost nine years. Doubts about his role started growing when several arrested IM operatives began taking his name. They knew him on a direct basis rather than through e-mails or phone calls.

While India and Saudi Arabia are working together on busting terror modules, there is still a long way to go before more key operatives are nabbed.

The police hope that through Fasih they could get the required evidence to seek the extradition of many more crucial operatives, who have sought shelter in Saudi Arabia.

The first person on their target is Fayaz Qagzai, an IM operative from Maharashtra [ Images ].

Immediately after Abu Jundal's arrest and subsequent deportation, the Indian agencies had sought to get their hands on Qagzai. However, the details about him were insufficient. and Saudi authorities sought more evidence before they could move against him.

While Fasih could provide the required details regarding the IM's set up in Saudi Arabia, it would need more investigation before the entire network is busted.

Sources said Fasih and Jundal revealed that Qagzai was a point man in Saudi Arabia who was in charge of recruitments. He even facilitated Jundal's movements when he landed there from Pakistan. Moreover, Imran Khan [ Images ] and Asad Khan (IM operatives arrested by the Delhi [ Images ] Police on September 26) have also revealed that they were facilitated by the same man when they had visited Saudi Arabia three years ago.

The arrest of Qagzai could possibly lead up to the arrest of the Bhatkal brothers, Riyaz and Iqbal. There is a lot of intelligence data on the duo, but the Interpol has demanded more proof.

It is said that they have sought shelter in Saudi Arabia and were present there a couple of months back. Qagzai has been the man who is directly in touch with them and even IM operatives arrested in India have stated that it was he who introduced them to the Bhatkal brothers.

A Delhi Police official said that Jundal and Fasih Mahmood could lead to them to more IM operatives like Tulla Gauri, Abdus Subhan, Ismail and Haneef.

The official added that they would move fast with these cases and provide Saudi Arabia with information on a regular basis so that they are able to nab more operatives who are part of the syndicate in Saudi Arabia.

EC orders FIRs against 3 Congress leaders, religious leader in Gujarat

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission has ordered registration of FIR against a religious leader and three Congress leaders for allegedly making inflammatory speeches and inciting people on grounds of religion during election campaigningin assembly poll-bound Gujarat.
The commission has written to chief electoral officer of Gujarat to ask the Surat district magistrate to register FIRs against three Congress leaders Kadir Pirzada, Maksud A Kazi, general secretary of district Congressminority cell, Surat, and Rizwan Usmani, another Congress leader, besides Maulana Faiyaz Laturi under Sections 153A, 295A and 505(2) IPC as well as under Section 125 of the Representation of People Act.
The commission also sent notices to all of them to explain by October 29 why action should not be taken against them for violating the modelcode of conduct, failing which the the matter will be decided without any further reference to them.
Pirzada and Maulana Laturi had, during a public meeting at Tadkeshwar in Mandvi of Surat district, made certain allegedly inflamatory speeches which were found to be objectionable by the commission.
After complaints from BJP leaders about the allegedly inflamatory speeches, the commission obtained the video CD and their transcript andviewed the relevant portions of the objectionable speeches and then decided to initiate the action.

>> dispute over immersion of Durga idol

This happens often. There are many cases when riots begin when some people throw shoes (or other things) during religious processions (like Durga puja, Janmasthmi). Some people also want that these processions should not traverse their neighborhoods.

More caught in the net:

Police, NIA keenly await Sabir's extradition from Saudi Arabia
City's terror links may soon become visible to police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) with the extradition of the most wanted Ernakulam-based suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) operative, K P Sabir alias Kochu Peedikayil Sabir alias Ayub, from Saudi Arabia.

Though the state intelligence was certain about the IM activities based out of the city after the Kalamassery bus burning incident on September 9, 2005 and an IED blast at the Ernakulam collectorate on July 10, 2009, it failed to make any headway in these cases as Sabir had escaped to Saudi Arabia.
Indian doctor detained in Riyadh, alleges mother
Bangalore: Usmane Ghani, an Indian doctor from this city working in a military hospital at Riyadh, has been detained by the Saudi Arabian police at the behest of the Indian government, alleged his grieving mother Fathima Khan.

“I got a call from his wife Rashida October 8 that my son was picked up by the Saudi police from home without giving any reason and he has been under detention since then,” the 55-year-old Fathima told IANS on Friday.

Ghani, 36, went to Saudi Arabia in late 2008 to join the National Guard hospital at Riyadh as an anaesthetist after working three years at St John’s Hospital and three months at Apollo Hospital in Bangalore. He also worked earlier at Seventh Day Adventist Hospital at Ottapalam in Kerala for 10 months.

Rashida joined Ghani a couple of months later when she got a visa and the couple have been living in Riyadh since then.

Article continues below

“Though I have written to the Indian embassy to help us know Ghani’s whereabouts and on what charges he was detained, there has been no response so far,” Fathima said.

Efforts by Rashida to find out from the Saudi government where her husband had been kept also did not yield result.

“We have no information about Ghani’s whereabouts. Only once Ghani called Rashida a week ago and spoke a few sentences. He did not tell where and how he was but told her to do daily namaz (prayers) and not to worry,” Fathima said in choked voice, recalling her recent conversation with her daughter-in-law.

Bangalore police, however, denied having any information about Ghani’s detention in Saudi Arabia.

“We have no information about his detention in Saudi Arabia. We can’t comment on what his mother (Fathima) is alleging or claiming. You have to find out from the authorities concerned,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) B. Dayanand told IANS.

Fathima and her younger son Mustafa Khan, a hardware engineer working at a private firm in Bangalore, are shocked at the “silence” of the Indian government and the indifference of its embassy in providing consular access to Ghani though the news about his detention was telecast on a Saudi channel the whole day (October 8).

She noted that the state police had summoned her son in early 2008 when he was in Bangalore after some youth were picked up in Hubli, about 410 km from Bangalore, for allegedly planning a terror attack and was questioned.

“Police had threatened Ghani of ruining his career if he did not cooperate with the state intelligence agencies. As there was no evidence of his involvement in any anti-national activity, he was cleared and allowed to go to Saudi Arabia,” Fathima said.

Accusing the authorities of framing her “innocent” son without proof, she said her family was being harassed as even her second son (Mustafa) was not spared by the police in questioning about the terror plans though he had no connection with such elements.

“We live in constant fear of being summoned or questioned by police as we are under surveillance since a fortnight. I am worried about Ghani’s safety and welfare of his wife though they have no children yet,” Fathima noted.

Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) coordinator Irshad Ahmad said the family would soon file a habeas corpus petition in the Karnataka High Court if the Indian government did not act to find out Ghani’s whereabouts and reasons for his detention.

“We are waiting for a response from the Indian embassy or the Saudi government on Ghani’s fate and what was the crime for his being suddenly picked up from his house in Riyadh,” Ahmed told IANS.

A desperate Fathima made a fervent appeal to the Indian government to provide consular access to Ghani, arrange a lawyer to represent him in Saudi Arabia, disclose reasons for his detention and provide her a visa to meet her son in the kingdom.

Things must go worst before they get better. Right now keep giving the rope but control the length and the strength. When time of hanging come , delay no more , Help them in every which way to expedite the final journey to no where. Imagine 20 years down the line, no Congress , No Pee-assers, energy security and one of the top 3 economies in the world with millions of young Dharmics fed up with shenanigans of last few decades. India needs Pachas Lakh well armed Dharmics all the time for mainataning the internal security. The clamouring of religion based reservation using minority excuse ought to be seen in this aspect. Falling for the trick will tentamounts to laying down the foundation for civil war in near furture. If Providing political space is finger, religion based reservation hand then soon india will loose the arm and leg.

Two police injured in group clash
Two policemen were injured and 20 men were arrested following a clash between two communities over the alleged slaughter of cow for the Bakrid festival, at Kakati alley in the City on Saturday.

The City found itself in the grip of tension after news of a bovine sacrifice, to be followed by a second cow which was being readied for butchering spread by noon.

The police had to resort to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and to bring the situation under control.

Abrupt violence

Soon after, however, people from one community began to hurl stones at Khanjar alley. In the incident, DySP Muthuraj and DySP Ravikumar were injured. Later, a team led by Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil arrested the miscreants.

Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil told Deccan Herald that there was no confirmation of a cow being slaughtered in the City. However, a cow has been recovered and its details are being verified.

Riot after riot in Uttar Pradesh

http://www.niticentral.com/2012/10/riot ... adesh.html

The despicable attack on Hindus in Faizabad, Badarsa, Rudoli on the occasion of Durga Puja deserves to be unequivocally condemned. In Faizabad, Hindus were attacked while they were taking the Durga idol for visarjan on Vijaya Dashami. The attackers, as official sources have put it, “belong to a particular community”. Similarly, the Durga Puja at Badarsa was disrupted and the pujari was killed. At Rudoli, the idol was desecrated.
