Maudhani-jis bail plea is getting taken up today. The state government have already submitted all their reasons for denying the bail. The defence is to give their reasons for granting the bail, today. And this new case it seems has taken Maudhani-ji& Co. by surprise. I remember TN Police also using a similar case when our old pal was in Coimbatore central prison.SSridhar wrote:I am pleasantly surprised that the change of government in Karnataka has not resulted in any respite for Maudany saheb.
The Karnataka Home Minister (a Keralite) was in Kerala yesterday and some journalists were repeteadly pestering him to know what is the State Governments plan on Maudhani-ji. He categorically stated that nothing much can be done now. The prosecutors would rely on the charge sheet which was prepared earlier, and the current govt. would not interfere. An upset Maudhani-ji says it is "Police Raj" in Karnataka.

Re: Internal Security Watch
BTW, a local vernacular daily reports that Shri. Abdul Nasser Maudhaniji's bail plea has been rejected by Karnataka High Court. He can now approach Supreme Court for bail. Prosecution says 16 lakhs has already been spent on giving this chap medical treatment. Maudhaniji it seems was demanding that he gets treated at a hospital of his choice. So for our pal it is time to get back to Parappana Agrahara for the time being.
PS: Watching the 21:00Hrs news in various "secular" Malayalam channels would be fun. The whining, chest beating all would be real fun to watch .

Bangladeshis already have ID documents like ration card, voter card, etc required for Adhar cards. They are located in pockets where they can easily mix with the local population who will vouch for their being authentic citizens. So it won't be a surprise if they get Adhar cards.

Any citizen including foreign nationals can legally acquire Aadhar. Its only a problem if they are illegals.

After Tunda, Bhatkal caught in Nepal, seems like the terrorists are making a beeline at Nepal border to court arrests and subsequently get treated at AIIMS and also help UPA re-election prospects in the process!

^^ This is a big thing indeed!!
Wonder if this also was a RAW operation with the "usual" picked up at Nepal border/bus stand/railway station story! Seems there seems to be some deal with TSP or TSP based folks to atleast send out some of the wanted folks at regular intervals ( like Tunda, Bhatkal etc). Makes GoI/INC also look good

It is a good news alright even if one suspect the timing etc all.
Yasin Bhatkal, founder of Indian Mujahideen, arrested
Yasin Bhatkal, founder of Indian Mujahideen, arrested
Based on the report it does look like we got him same way as tunda got arrested. More then likely he got deported from middle east and caught in nepal.NEW DELHI: Yasin Bhatkal, the founder of Indian Mujahideen, has been arrested by Indian agencies from the India-Nepal border on Thursday.
According to sources, IB and other Indian agencies took Yasin Bhatkal in custody at Sanauli border of Nepal near Gorakhpur.
Sources say special teams had been camping in Darbhanga in Bihar for some time for his arrest as RAW and IB played a crucial role in tracing his whereabouts.
A special cell of Delhi Police was also near the Bihar-Nepal border since last one week anticipating the arrest.
According to reports, the NSA has met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and briefed him about the arrest of Bhatkal.
However, the home ministry is yet to make an official confirmation of the arrest.
The NIA is likely to get the first custody of the top terrorist.
Bhatkal is one of the most wanted terrorists and is responsible for several terror attacks in the country.
Yasin Bhatkal's real name is Ahmad Zarar Siddi Bappa. He is also known by the alias Shahrukh.
He is accused of masterminding several terror strikes including Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad blasts.
Yasin Bhatkal's arrest comes close on the heels of arrest of another top terrorist Abdul Karim Tunda.
Re: Internal Security Watch
Indian Mujahideen mastermind Yasin Bhatkal arrested near Indo-Nepal border
The arrest has been confirmed by the Home Ministry.
After a decade of searches and mis-steps, Indian intelligence agencies finally nabbed Yasin Bhatkal, one of India's most wanted for several terror attacks and founder of the Indian Mujahideen (IM).
Bhatkal, whose real name is Mohammed Ahmed Sidibapa is 30 years old and hails from the coastal town of Bhatkal in Karnataka.
He was the mastermind behind the IM along with his cousins Riyaz and Iqbal. Like his predecessors, Yasin was also hiding in the UAE when Indian intelligence agencies managed to track him down.
It is believed that the other alleged terrorist and bomb maker Abdul Karim Tunda helped locate Bhatkal since both of them had been in touch.
Using a combination of wire taps and human intelligence, Bhatkal was tracked and deported to Nepal before being packed off to the Indian border to be arrested formally.
Like the other alleged terrorists, Bhatkal was also travelling under an assumed name using a Pakistani passport, sources told dna.
Bhatkal had set up the Azamgarh and Darbhanga modules of the IM. He provided training, funding and material for a series of terror attacks from Gujarat to Maharashtra and probably even Delhi, said sources.
"We will know after the interrogation starts," a senior intelligence official told dna.
Ironically, Bhatkal was arrested in 2008 by the Kolkata police in a fake currency case. Unfortunately, due to lack of coordination, the Kolkata Police had no clue who he was.
Bhatkal assumed a false identity and managed to escape before a Delhi Police team could arrive to confirm who he was. Since then he was believed to have slipped into Bangladesh and then to Karachi in Pakistan.
It is believed that he had personally provided training to other members of the IM in the coastal town of Bhatkal and the Cardamom Hills in Kerala.
Several other alleged IM terrorists like Abdul Sathar received training under Bhatkal. Sathar too recently returned to India from the UAE.
The NIA believes that in 2010, Bhatkal planted the bomb that exploded at the German Bakery in Pune, killing 17 people.
He was also spotted on CCTV cameras after the German Bakery blast in Pune. He was seen walking away after planting a backpack full of explosives.
Bhatkal is also believed to be behind the three blasts at Dadar, Zhaveri Bazaar and Opera House in Mumbai that killed 26 people in 2011.
Re: Internal Security Watch
great job. congrats to those involved.
Re: Internal Security Watch
Seems like it. Delhi police team had camped at the Nepal border since past 1 week to welcome him! The question is from which country was he picked from. Most likely one of the middle east ones like in previous similar cases. Whatever, great job by the agencies.sum wrote:^^ This is a big thing indeed!!

Re: Internal Security Watch
^^ So, does the ARC bring back such high-level prodigal sons in a special aircraft from the ME/xyz or is he brought in normal Air-India type passenger airlines with 2-3 escorts?
Do Nepal and UAE have a extradition treaty?Using a combination of wire taps and human intelligence, Bhatkal was tracked and deported to Nepal before being packed off to the Indian border to be arrested formally.

1) Why do we have to deport to Nepal and bring them by road to India...why can't we directly deport to India from ME ?
2) After they are caught, interrogated and bought to court or before press they don't look under any kind of pressure or looks like no 3rd degree is used on them to get the info ? is it because for the fear of high profile cases no 3rd degree is used to get info from them ? I am not sure if they will give away all the info with just a normal interrogation ...
for that matter a small time thief is given 3rd degree to get the info ...why these animal are given the privilege like political leaders caught in scams... ?

The ME countries do not want it to be obvious that they shelter terrorists all the time
The ME countries do not want it to be obvious that some times they are willing to trade the terrorists they shelter with others friend forces in the world in order to further their cause, often joint, often the same as the one for which they sheltered the terrorist in the first place. (The cause is greater than pawns serving it)
GoI does not wants it to be obvious that it knows where that it knows the above, but is not working as hard as Indian interests would demand, in some cases it can not and should not disturb relations with ME countries and so plays the fool, but mostly its not for good reasons.
So this Kabuki theatre is useful for pretences and going London, looking Tokyo type of tactics that geo-politics at the lower end evidently thrive on.

The interesting point was:Lots of pigs still to be hunted down. There was a long list of men, though, who evaded police, and are still at large—among them Azamgarh’s Mirza Shadab Beg, Shahnawaz Alam, and Muhammad ‘Bada’ Sajid, Gujarat’s Alamzeb Afridi, Mahrashtra’s Zulfikar Fayyaz ‘Kagazi’ and Rahil Sheikh, and Asadullah Akhtar’s own alleged co-conspirator in the Hyderabad bombings, Uttar Pradesh resident Ariz Khan.
Key leaders, more important, also escaped the police: operational commander Riyaz Shahbandri, his brother and top ideologue Iqbal Shahbandri, and the man who liaised between the network’s various cells, Abdul Subhan Qureshi. The ganglord who financed them all, Bihar’s Amir Raza Khan, is also still at large.
Each of these men could be—and perhaps already is—the next Yasin Bhatkal.
Only hope that the IB officers who did this operation aren't mercilessly hounded by a future "uber-secular" govt like how the Ishrat Jahan folks were victimised
Re: Internal Security Watch
Kudos to IB chief Syed Asif Ibrahim for capturing Yasin Bhatkal.
Re: Internal Security Watch
There will be retaliation from ISI(LeT) and its wing IM soon.
Re: Internal Security Watch
According to The Hindu, YB's case appears to be purely the effort of IB, Karnataka Police and R&AW.Where did US counter intelligence come into play as some people claim ?

From the Indian Express
Re: Internal Security Watch
Now, a terrorism fast-track court needs to be set-up, the lawful process must be gone through but without any delay at all and appropriate punishment meted out to this guy. It is not just the question of 272 deaths. For every one person who died there were at least 4 or 5 who were injured. Then, there was hospitalization of the injured, damage to properties, loss of business, routine work, disruption of services etc running into hundreds of crores of rupees. Then, the fear psychosis that gripped the cities and indeed the entire country that cannot even be quantified. The time and money spent by various government agencies to investigate his evil crimes. Above all, he waged war against our country. He should be tried for treason, nothing less and the highest punishment for that crime be awarded swiftly after going through proper legal processes without wasting time. The punishment, if awarded, must be carried out very quickly too.

Pune blast: CCTV footage shows 2 persons walking into bakery with bag
NIA however said that it wanted the clip because Yasin Bhatkal was in it. Now I wonder why they did thatATS sources said the footage was being analysed. ``The footage shows two persons walking inside German Bakery with a bag,'' said one source. However, they maintained that jumping to any conclusion would be premature at this stage of the probe as the footage details needed to be corroborated. The images, however, were of the backs of people, and it wasn't clear if faces could be seen clearly enough for identification, said a home department official.
German bakery blast: NIA seeks CCTV footage
According to the agency, the footage shows that the man who planted the explosive substance was Yasin Bhatkal, alleged founder of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen. NIA filed its application along with the death confirmation petition of Mirza Himayat Baig, the lone convict in the blast case in which 17 people, including five foreigners, were killed.

Shouldn't this guy's arrest be made a secret till they nab and disable most of the cells and terrorists? that too this guy is one of the king pins, won't the other friends of his hide? may be this news should have been suppressed till that time.

Watch rabid Islamists like Abu Azmi spit all over the screen defending Yasin Bhatkal. I am shocked and stunned to watch people actually defending mass murderers just because they happen to be of Islamic faith. India's sad fate.
