UNGA fallout: Turkish Company could be out of the FSS project for Indian Navy

Without citing any reason, speaking to Financial Express Online on condition of anonymity, a senior official confirmed that “The contract for the 45,000-ton fleet support ships (FSS) for the Indian Navy with the Turkish Company could be delayed.”

“It could be a fall out of Turkey cosying up to Pakistan and raising Kashmir issue at the recently concluded 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA),” said the officer.

I think this order itself was some long drawn out plan with an intent to punish Turkey should they stick to Pakistan on 370.

Turkey summons US diplomat over a Twitter 'like'

Turkey summoned a top American diplomat Sunday after the U.S. Embassy’s official Twitter account “liked” a tweet that said the people of Turkey should prepare for a political era without the leader of Turkey’s national party, who is reportedly ill.

The Foreign Ministry said the U.S. charge d’affaires Jeffrey Hovenier was summoned despite an embassy statement that said its Twitter account had liked “an unrelated post in error,” and apologized.

Many interpreted the tweet as suggesting that the nationalist leader Devlet Bahceli could soon die. The tweet was posted by a journalist Turkey accuses of having links to a network led by a cleric who is blamed for a 2016 failed coup attempt. Turkish media reports say the journalist, Ergun Babahan, is wanted in Turkey.

Yawn! If modi thinks “meeting” the Greeks, Armenians & Cypriots is enough to rattle Erdogan he’s just plain wrong. Start with kicking Çelebi out (owned by his daughter) & move up to restricting
@TurkishAirlines
& then have Armenian Genocide recognition

How true is this? A simple Google search didn't show any linkages but the ownership structure of such companies isn't that clear to figure out.

If it is true, high time they pay a price for his jihadi crap.

US to let Turkish forces move into Syria, abandoning Kurdish allies

Kurdish forces have spearheaded the campaign against Isis in the region, but the policy swerve, following a phone conversation between Donald Trump and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday, means Turkey would take custody of captured Isis fighters, the White House said.

The statement suggested that in return for US acquiescence in a Turkish offensive, Erdoğan had assured Trump that Turkey would take over the detention of Isis militants captured by the SDF, on the battlefield. The custody of Europeans and other foreign fighters has long been one of Trump’s preoccupations, and he has lambasted European governments for not taking responsibility for their own nationals in Isis ranks.

Syria experts warned that the US abandonment of the SDF would lead to another, new front in the eight-year Syrian conflict, and could push the Kurds into seeking an arrangement with the Assad regime in Damascus.

Another outcome of the Trump-Erdogan call, is that the Turkish leader is expected to visit the White House next month.

The worry here is:
Where will these guys go ultimately.
Remember the recent Dimran's announcement of 'Trioka'
SMQ waiting in the wings to occupy the 'Electric Chair'
'Cash more' not going up conflagration.
Jarnails not happy with Dimmy.
Recent FATF report not conducive to TSP.
Fazalur threating to start the peacefuls version of the 'Long March'
My worry is these guys will ultimately given a choice 'Cash more' and 72 or bullet in the head.
And a large percentage would accept 'Cash more' as they already have a experience of subjugating Yazidis, Iraqis etc., so the 'Cash mooris' will be the gullible 'Low Hanging Fruit' to be plucked!!!

IMO this is the end of Erdogan. They HOPE they are going to fight just Kurdish. They may end up running away in pieces from Gen. Smirnoff. It's Syrian territory. I think Erdogan will have some leeway to "clear the border area" but then better withdraw immediately or else. No Yoo Ess cover, so Putin has free hand.

the turks want to go after the kurds. The amerikis have played into their hands.

they will butcher as many kurds as they can before someone stops them.

aren't the turks and the russians the new BFF now.

After selling the turks the S-400 system, neither the turks nor the russians are going to rock the boat. So they both will avoid the possibilities of each others operations becoming friendly for the other.

The russki pilots will still be looking to "accidently, on purpose" take out a couple of turki aircraft to settle the old score. If it were to happen, putin may make sympathetic noises but beyond that he will let it slide.

Erdogan claims that they have no intention is staying, only to resettle Syrian refugees. Considering that it is the SDF that is targeted, you are right, it may be win-win for Putin-Dogan.

The Turks are giving real experience to their kit, in these adventures.

Paks would probably start receiving some war tested kit, in form of artillery and specially A2G PGM.

We need to send/sell our kit to some bush wars to get it battle tested.

the guy is casting a wide net to regain the past and lost ottoman identity, leadership, and pride when they were the leading power in the region with influence and sway in the desert regions.

What are the chances of Russia-Iran biting off south east part of Turkey so that Iran has a direct link to Syria? As of now Syria and Iran do not have a common border.

Where is singha saar? He was tracking developments of this area for years.

BTW, with new found friendship of Turkey and Russia, don't think Russians will bite off part of turkey. BTW, what are equations of Iran and Turkey? Are they enemies due to different sects?

syria is being targetted for a long time because the gulfies want to run oil and gas pipelines to europe and that has to run through syria. This venture has ameriki backing because the amerikis want to hobble russia and also the contract for building the pipelines and all the infrastructure will go to ameriki companies because no US president will let it go elsewhere.

the ruskies will lose a very big market if these gulfie pipelines go through because they almost have a monopoly in supplying some of the EU countries and the turks want to control the supply of oil and gas via this route since this gives them a chance to blackmail and influence EU policies. The jehadis will never think beyond this threat, blackmail play because it is culturally and historically embedded in their desert psyche and afterall this is how it all started out in mecca and medina.

putin and erdogan are actually on opposite sides as far as the pipelines are concerned so putin is trying to wean the turks away to his side.

Shows what a sh1thead LindseyGraham is, in keeping with the traditions of South Carolina. The only ppl fighting ISIS have been the Syrians/Russians and the Kurds. The main supporters and sponsors of the ISIS are Turkey and US Deep State, plus KSA. This 3-star King of SC doesn't know, or is lying, or both. Good thing there is no Twitter in Mongolia

Iran and Russia combine gets direct access to Mediterranian instead of via Bosphorus. They can supply (and will) supply arms to Palestinians via land-route through Golan to West Bank and to Latakia or Tartus and ship to Gaza Strip. Right now they have to go through Suez.

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over.....the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!

SDF just received a consignment of US weapons at the Semalka border checkpost, merely an hour before Turkey commenced aerial bombardment of PKK pickets. Despite US prohibiting Syria use of Northern Syrian airspace, hypothetically what does this mean if the Ruskis take out a Turkish asset? Can they invoke Article 5 ? What happens to the 40,000 ISIS fighters in captivity of the SDF?

Keeping European winters warm must be significant source of income for Russia. If Erdogan thinks he can steamroll over Russia and resurrect Ottoman empire he will be in for a rude shock. And I don't think US will let Kurds get massacred at the hands of Turks. Any change in status quo will only lead to progressively worse situation for Turkey unless Erdogan can keep his massive ego in check.

So this is Erdogan being given a long rope to hang himself? A bit hard to believe, especially with Trump and his short term thinking, but would be interesting if it pans out that way.

Keeping Erdogan engaged in his neighborhood might help us in terms of reducing his space to conspire with Urdu-gan (the Dim) in our neighborhood.

turki and the malays are already feeling the heat of India's displeasure because they both have supported the pakis in the UNGA.

with the FATF meeting coming up, we need to ratchet up this heat and cause real pain by toning down the philosophical and upping the ante on the transactional, just like the amerikis and the cheeni would.

The Kurds have 90,000 ISIS people in their custody. If they have to fight off the Turks, then guarding these 90K will become a lesser priority.

IMO, India should reach out to the Kurds and take custody of any of the 90K that is affiliated with India, so that they can't somehow find their way back to India undercover.

For the umpteenth time the US has stabbed the turds....oops!...Kurds. The US betrayed them when Saddam was in power, allowing him to gas them, a celebrated event. But where the conflict will now go is a
toss-up for the the moment. Erdogan is gradually., becoming weaker politically and as the Yanquis begin to retreat, leaving the Turds exposed, may force the issue to gain political points at home.

I don't understand the ISIS prisoners thing. Aren't they cretins that came THROUGH AND OUT OF Turkey? So they are basically mercenaries for Turkey? However I see no evidence that they hold any brief for Erdogan & Co.
If they are not, and they fear Turkey, then the solution is obvious. That is how the Soviets won the battle of Leningrad. Sent out thousands of political prisoners each with a rifle and one bullet (that was all they could afford) to rush the German lines. The Kurds standing back will shoot any that try to return, so they have no choice.
The Turkish armored columns will get shredded. So far I have not seen any evidence of the fighting mettle or enthusiasm of the New Ottoman Armies. Much of their competent officer corps are getting buggered in Erdogan's concentration camps - or have been shot already.
I think this is Erdogan's equivalent of MBS' Yemen experience.
