Dey wasn't blackmailing anybody: Bhujbal
Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Saturday said that crime journalist J Dey, who was killed in Mumbai, did not target any gang or oil mafia in particular and was not "blackmailing" anyone. Asked if the killing could be linked to elements from the underworld or the oil mafia, Bhujbal, a for mer home minister, said, "Dey was a very honest person. He used to write on underworld. He was not targeting anyone in particular, whether any gang or any (oil) mafia."

"Dey was not blackmailing anyone. He was a very honest person. I never imagined this would happen to him," he said.

"We are very much shocked to hear this tragic news," Bhujbal said. He recalled having attended the book release of Zero Dial, written by Dey about informers, three months ago.

"I think police will come to know in some time why he was killed," Bhujbal said.
Rather strange that Bhujbal would say something like " Dey was not blackmailing anyone"!

Couple of reports that J. Dey did last month.

Sea-soned diesel kingpin arrested
By: J Dey Date: 2011-05-16 Place: Mumbai

As fuel prices soared yet again, an oil kingpin was nabbed with 50,000 litres of smuggled diesel; cops say the Rs 10,000 crore racket runs deep -- from international mariners to local politicians

Less than 24 hours after the news of hike in fuel prices -- this time by a hefty Rs 5 -- formed a lump in your throat, police uncovered a sinister diesel smuggling syndicate off the city's shores. In the wee hours of Sunday, a team led by Senior Inspector Rakesh Sharma of the Special Branch, nabbed a diesel kingpin who goes by the nom de guerre of Bada Noora.

Noora was returning with his spoils of the night, from the deep seas some 100 miles off the city's shores, where stolen diesel exchanges hands and is smuggled into the metropolis. No sooner had the kingpin landed the consignment of more than 50,000 litres of the fuel valued around Rs 1 crore in his barge, than the sleuths impounded it. The development indicates that the seas around the city are fast becoming a cesspool for diesel smuggling, or what is called pani ka kaam in gangland vernacular, as it is smuggled in via sea routes.

Logistical chain
A number of agents are involved in this underground market, not the least of which are captains and officials of foreign-flagged ships, police sources detailed. These compromised international mariners, ravenous to make a fast buck, often go on an austerity drive at sea by switching off some of the auxiliary engines, air conditioners and other fuel-consuming equipment on board the vessel, to save on the fuel.

The saved quantity is then sold to clandestine operators from the city. The operators get it from the ship's captain for as low as Rs 12 per litre. The oil mafiosi sail on their transporting freights to meet the tainted mariners some 100 miles off the city's coast. The diesel is offloaded on their vessels in tanks -- the way it was on Noora's barge -- and snuck in to the city. The consignment thus smuggled in is sold in the city at a throwaway Rs 18 per litre.

Parallel economy
The business of bootlegged diesel, which is sometimes mixed with naphta and kerosene, is estimated to be around Rs 10,000 crore for the mafia annually. Moreover, there have been pointers that it is taking place with the connivance of some senior politicians and policemen, a senior police officer admitted on the condition of anonymity.

Investigations by this newspaper revealed that that there are dozens of local gangs, most of them affiliated to Dawood's right-hand-man Chhota Shakeel, which provide the oil and diesel mafia with the necessary man and muscle power. In return, they receive protection from local politicians, which was a major giveaway pointing to their complicity.

Spin-offs
The purloined fuel is sold to dozens of tug owners and sand mafia operators in and around the city, confirmed senior inspector Sharma. A large number of fishermen and dubious petrol pump owners also thrive on the smuggled diesel to carry out their daily business, after buying it at Rs 18 per litre. Investigations indicate that transactions of more than 500 tonnes takes place almost every alternate day. The volume of the business is around Rs 180 crore for a two-month-season. The diesel smuggling business also perpetuates and enables the hawala business in the city, mainly controlled by Dawood's henchmen. Payments are made to the foreign captains and other officials in on the illegal trade in dollars.

Security threat
Other than the parallel economy the mafia is running, which puts its oar in the demand and supply of fuel in the white market, these operations also pose a serious threat from a national security perspective, as these vessels can as easily and unsuspectingly be used to smuggle arms and ammunition into the city. Cops say that Noora's arrest is just the surface of the smuggling world that they have scratched. They have launched a hunt to nab Bada Noora's key associate Akbar.

Some of the other key players in the dock areas are Chhota Noora, Rafiq, Aziz, Aziz Battiwala, Chand, Munna Maldar, Santosh, Sadiq and DK Bhai. A major player, whose real identity and role investigators have not yet revealed, is someone who goes by the alias of Pandit.

Change of guard
Initial investigations have indicated that Bada Noora has been appointed as a replacement for slain oil kingpin Chand Madar, shot dead by his gangland rivals outside his Ballard Pier office last year. The role of the underworld, the links with Dawood, and the extent to and manner in which the nexus spreads are all part of the ongoing investigations, Sharma said.

What should verily raise alarm is the fact, confirmed by the police, that a large number of foreign-flagged ships are now diverting their vessels close to Mumbai to sell surplus diesel to the mafia and make quick money. This information came to light during the questioning of Bada Noora, said Sharma. In fact, feverish illegitimate activity is expected in the seas surrounding Mumbai in the coming days. The mafia will try to stock up on as much diesel as they can because of the imminent monsoon season, which makes the seas turbulent to venture into and the business dicey.
Cops lay hands on criminal data bank
By: J Dey Date: 2011-05-23 Place: Mumbai

Say a spate of arrests can be expected in the coming few days

With the interrogation of two key accused yielding a veritable treasure trove of information regarding major players in the thriving diesel smuggling racket, the Special Branch has said that a spate of arrests can be expected in the coming few days.

The interrogation of Bada Noora and Nizam Abdul Kadir, who were arrested with 75,000 litres of stolen diesel last week, has given the Special Branch access to a large data bank containing names, contact numbers and addresses of agents and ship captains believed to be involved in Dawood's oil syndicate.

"Some ships have already been kept under surveillance and we will have to arrest some agents and tainted captains of foreign ships soon. International marine agencies will also be contacted to help nab the culprits," said Senior Inspector Rakesh Sharma of the Special Branch.

Sharma said that members of the mafia are also wanted in connection with the murder of radio officer Debashish Dey after a party at Bombay High earlier this year. He is believed to have been wrapped in a fishing net before being cast into the sea. The diesel smuggling business also fuels the hawala racket, which is controlled in Mumbai by Dawood's henchmen. Payments to some tainted foreign captains and other senior officers for their involvement in the smuggling were made in dollars, which has brought them under the scanner.
Most of the players in the stolen diesel business are believed to owe their allegiance to the D-gang. They operate from places like Dongri and Masjid Bunder. The police have also launched a manhunt to nab Bada Noora's key associates Akbar, Pandit and Chhota Noora. Some of the other key players in the dock areas are Rafiq, Aziz Battiwala, Munna Maldar, Santosh, Sadiq and Jalalbhai.

Cash rich
Diesel smugglers buy the fuel from the ship captains for as low as Rs 12 per litre and then sell it to dubious petrol pump owners for Rs 18. The business, which also involves naphtha and kerosene being mixed in the stolen diesel, is estimated to have an annual turnover of Rs 10,000 crore.

Senior officers said the racket has been able to thrive because it enjoys the support of tainted politicians and policemen. "What makes the business truly dangerous from a security viewpoint is that these hardened criminals could smuggle in huge quantities of arms and ammunition along with the diesel, as had happened a little before the 1993 serial blasts," said a senior officer.

@ramana, most likely Bhujbal also knew that Dey is going to be tapkaoed (killed). It is likely that Dey may have received threats as well from the gang. I hope he made arrangements to back up and spread his writings.

It is ironic that in Indian polity it is difficult to find even one non-criminal, non-corrupted politician. Illegal activities (smuggling, extortion) is to be expected in big city like Mumbai but anything associated with Dawood has long since crossed criminal and is and should be considered national security threat. And Congress and Chidambaram in their infinite wisdom and corruption want to harangue and trample on Baba Ramdev!

Sonia Gandhi condemns journalist's murder
NEW DELHI: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday expressed shock over the killing of senior journalist Jyotirmoy Dey in Mumbai and asked the party's government in Maharashtra to leave "no stone unturned" to apprehend the culprits.

In a message, Gandhi expressed "shock and dismay" over Dey's killing in broad daylight and said that such "dastardly acts" will not be tolerated in civilised society.

She said she was confident that the state government led by senior party leader Prithviraj Chavan will act fast and decisively and leave no stone unturned to investigate the murder.

The 56-year-old senior investigative journalist, who extensively covered underworld and crime for over two decades, was shot dead yesterday by four motorbike-borne persons in Mumbai's suburban Powai.

Dey, Editor (Special Investigation) with an English eveninger 'Mid-Day', was riding his motorcycle when he was gunned down. He was rushed to nearby Hiranandani hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police sources said Dey, who recently ran a series of stories on oil mafia, had received threats from anti-social elements. He had also written two books on oil mafia and the underworld.

The specialist on encounters, underworld
At 6 feet 3 inches, Jyotirmoy N Dey was hard to miss and yet he could be the most inconspicuous person in a room, speaking sparsely and quietly. With his build and checked shirts, he’d often be mistaken for a policeman. Only, mid-level and senior policemen knew who he was, the man behind the byline “J Dey”, who broke many a crime story.
Counted among the handful of journalists with extensive information networks within the underworld, Dey established himself as one of the foremost authorities among reporters on the working of the Mumbai gangsters, writing two books on the subject, Zero Dial: The Dangerous World of Informers in 2010 and earlier, Khallas.

Dey, who worked with Hindustan Lever Ltd till 1994, was also a freelance photojournalist for some time. He joined The Indian Express in 1996, and soon gained access into the Customs Department, and later, into the underworld.

Among those who covered the “encounter killings” in the 1990s, he saw, and reported, first-hand the systematic decimation of Mumbai’s underworld. Recently, he repeatedly wrote that the underworld was back in action in Mumbai, in new forms and with new interests in the globalised world.

“His biggest strength was his knack for bridging the gap with the lower-ranking policemen and getting information; he built sources from bottom to top,” said S Hussain Zaidi, resident editor of The Asian Age in Mumbai and Dey’s contemporary and colleague for many years at The Indian Express.

From 1996 to 2004, Dey was a consistent byline on the pages of The Indian Express, also writing a weekly column on the workings of the underworld, titled “Notes From The Underworld”, in which he wrote about dons and their molls, the well-known gangsters as well as the lesser-known goons.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a former policeman known as an “encounter specialist” said Dey’s reports were so accurate that encounter reviews often depended on his reportage. “From the weapon that was used to the location to the impact of the killing, Dey would get every detail correct. The Special Branch of the police still has some of his reports,” he said.

Dey, who was married to fellow journalist Shubha Sharma, lived in Powai. A keen nature enthusiast, he was also an avid trekker and loved driving off to Lonavala for a plate of bhurjee.

Those who worked with him remember his quiet smile, his wealth of knowledge about the underworld as well as his extensive sources across Mumbai and the region. “He covered high-profile news for over two decades and today has become the subject of shocking news for the journalist fraternity,” said a close friend and a fellow journalist who knew Dey since the early 1990s .

Dey’s recent reports targeted oil mafia

In the last few months, J Dey had targeted the alleged oil mafia operating in Maharashtra, off the coast of Mumbai. Following a series of reports he had most recently written about an alleged Rs 10,000-crore scam involving pilfered oil from neighbouring states, mainly Gujarat and MP, which is allegedly smuggled into Mumbai through the state’s porous coastal belt. Following the recent shootout in Mumbai’s Pakmodia Street, in which the bodyguard-cum-driver of Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Iqbal Kaskar was shot, Dey had also written about the possible conspiracy behind the attack.

A colleague at Mid-Day said Dey was gathering material for a report on the Dawood stronghold in south Mumbai, allegedly handled by his sister Haseena Parker. He was also reportedly preparing to expose the involvement of a senior police officer in a real estate dispute in Mumbai.

'Saab, nobody knows my real name...'
J Dey paid tribute to the nameless informer in Zero Dial ” the term by used in Dawood's stronghold, Dongri to describe these vital cogs in criminal reportage and investigations. Excerpts from the book.

It was around 2 pm. An hour left for mulakaat to get underway at Thane jail. Rahim had sent a message through a guard that he wanted to meet Vicky. Vicky must still be in the barrack and there was time for bandi, locking of the barracks, to be lifted, realized Rahim. The gate had to be opened again before he could walk into the compound and see him in the mulakaat cell. The guards would certainly inform Vicky about Tahim's arrival.

This would entitle them to a small baksheesh. Suddenly, he saw Vicky walking briskly towards him.

Rahim: Salaam Bhai.

Vicky: Sab theek?

Rahim: I've cutting. A definite tip-off.

Vicky: What is it?

Rahim: Kurla is admitted to a hospital in Andheri.

Vicky: Ah! Are you sure?

Rahim: Pakki khabar hain, bhai. I've seen him myself.

Vicky: That's great work. I'll be out by next week. But I think we should not waste time. I'll give you a contact, Rohit Verma's telephone number. Collect some money from Mama.

Rahim: I will contact Rahitbhai.

Vicky: Main uska bond nikalta hoon. I will get Nana to issue his death warrant.

Rohit Verma was among Nana's most trusted lieutenants. He joined the big league through Matya, a senior-level organizer in the Nana Company, entrusted with dealing with recruits and assigning them jobs in the gang.

Starting off as a robber, he made it to the upper echelons of Mumbai's underworld after ambushing East West Airlines' chief Takkiuddin Wahid near his office in Bandra.

April 21, 1998.
Rohit's car halted outside Bellevue Hospital. Azam Khan was at the wheel. Dressed in a pair of expensive jeans and a white shirt, Rohit was accompanied by Jaggu. The duo was the most dreaded and fearless combination in Mumbai's underworld circles. The two men looked like doctors ” except for the .38 caliber revolvers tucked at the back.

Climbing up the flight of stairs, Rohit who was the first one to reach the male ward, bumped into a nurse. Even before he could enquire about the patient in bed number 4, Rohit recognized Kurla sitting on the cot, chatting with two of his associates. A ward boy was inside the room filling a jug with water. The two shooters did not have much time. Jaggu pulled out his gun and pointed it at the trembling attendant, who ran out of the room.

Kurla was shocked. He didn't have the slightest idea that Nana's men would track him to the hospital. In fact, he had no idea that he was on Nana's hitlist. He wasn't a frontline shooter. All he did was pass on information to the gang on developments in Bollywood. Nevertheless, Kurla had played a secondary role in the serial blasts that rocked Mumbai in 1993 and it was time for retribution.

Rohit brandished his revolver and pumped four bullets into Kurla's stomach. The impact of the bullets made Kurla's body fly and hit the wall behind him. Jaggu fired four more rounds at Kurla's associates assuming that they too were members of D-Company. Blood spattered all over the room. Even the walls were stained red.

Their getaway was as simple as their entry. The two shooters hopped down the stairs and got into the waiting Esteem. Their car weaved its way through the traffic on Veera Desai Road and disappeared into the night.

That very night, Rahim was invited to attend a party hosted by Rohit. Jaggu and Khan were also present at the restaurant in Borivali. Rahim joined the three men, who had occupied a corner table and were drinking beer. A feeling of pride gripped Rahim. Till now he had been a mere chindi, a climber. Never in his wildest dreams had he thought that he would one day be sipping beer with Nana's key shooters. He had been promoted.

A few minutes into the party, Rohit's phone rang. Picking up the phone, Rohit said, "Jai Hind. Vithala. Vithala."

Rahim immediately realized it was the Don on the line, 'Vithala' was code for 'mission accomplished,' when someone was killed and sent to their heavenly abode. Handing over the phone to Rahim, Rohit whispered, "It's Nana. He wants to talk to you." "Good job. Raja, jo apni ma ka na ho saka, who gaddar hain. If a man is not loyal to his country he deserves to be killed. We killed him," Nana said, speaking in a voice that carried his conviction even on the phone. "Did you get your money? It will be arranged soon. Get more information on these traitors," he added.

Nana's words had a deep impact on Rahim. He now began feeling that he was in Nana's inner circle. They may even promote me to a shooter, he thought. But no, I would still prefer to remain an informer. The stakes become higher if you are an artiste or shooter.

The news sped across the border and Dawood was furious at the death of his man. Dawood ordered his men to run a check on who could have tipped off Nana's men about Kurla's whereabouts.

From twitter account of MId-day's Editor Sachin Kalbag.
@SachinKalbag Sachin Kalbag
A request to the international media calling me about J Dey. Please do not mirror Pakistan with India. Dey isn't India's Syed Saleem Shahzad.
I tend to agree about != between SSS and J. Dey.

While i am certain that Mumbai underworld is involved in killing of J. Dey we certainly dont want pakis to jump up and down claiming India is no better! Big difference being Paki state itself is involved in killing of SSS and no such thing in case of Dey.

Was Dey in his latest material on Dawood able to dig up detailed politician connections? In that case, they would have more benefit of his killing than even Dawood.

I'd think all politicians that come out "expressing shock" are direct beneficiaries of Dey's murder. So far Bhujbal and Sonia have come out and it is least bit not surprising that INC and NCP politicians may be biggest protectors of Dawood's network in Mumbai.

‘IM responsible for Dey murder' http://www.hindu.com/2011/06/19/stories ... 931200.htm
Mumbai: A person claiming to be calling from Yemen told the Mumbai police on Saturday that the Indian Mujahideen (IM) was responsible for the killing of senior crime reporter Jyotirmoy Dey.

The journalist was shot dead a week ago by four unknown assailants in Powai here.

“A person called up the police control room at 5.30 today [Saturday] evening saying that the Indian Mujahideen had hired shooters from Kashmir to kill J Dey. He also said that the shooters were from Hyderabad, Bihar and Srinagar and that they were paid Rs. 4 lakh for the killing. We are verifying it,” a senior police officer told reporters here on Saturday.

Police officials said the claim needed verification as the IM is not present in Jammu and Kashmir, but that all the information related to the case was being taken seriously. According to a senior police officer, more than 150 persons were questioned as of Saturday.

The officer also said that the police now had nine CCTV clips of the incident. This includes footage from the professional establishments near the spot.

Initially, the police had only one CCTV clip. This, however, was discarded since the images were grainy due to heavy rain at the time of the incident.

The police had earlier said that as they were trying to reconstruct the day of the incident, they had stumbled upon some gaps, which they were trying to fill up. The police have now said that they have received J Dey's call records from 1.30 p.m. — when he left his mother's place in Ghatkopar — till 2.45 pm.

^^^ Localities near Old Hyderabad were notorious for availability of foreign sim cards, especially from Gulf nations. Not sure if it has spread to other cities.

J Dey was asked by cops to go into hiding near Satara, apparently he was double-crossed due to "sensitive" info about German bakery case explosives trail leading to the same players carrying out the diesel smuggling.

Posting in full as a real good read on reproters+ underworld combo. Seems Sri. Dey wasnt lily-white himself:
The killing of a crime reporter
The men, police say, were paid by Rajendra “Chhota Rajan” Nikhalje, the fugitive East Asia-based ganglord, to murder Dey. But about why those men were paid to assassinate Dey, or the circumstances that led up to the killing, there are still no answers.

Emerging evidence, though, suggests that the killing had little to do with Dey's work: he kept no notes or tapes which suggest he was working on a life-threatening exposé; asked no questions of long standing colleagues and friends in the police force; mentioned nothing to his editors.{ So the story of working with SSS was DDM?}

The investigation has, instead, begun to raise an uncomfortable question: has the toxic shroud that Mumbai's organised crime cartels have cast over the city's police and politics also tainted its press?
Mr. Asrani, investigators say, claims he conveyed a request from Rajan not to write articles hostile to his mafia — an account broadly corroborated by Mr. Prabhakar. Bar staff do not recall any acrimony, but there is no independent account of the meeting; Dey does not appear to have kept notes.

The article in question had appeared on June 2, painting a picture of a mafia in decay. Large numbers of Rajan's lieutenants, Dey had written, had “gone on pilgrimage,” fearing attacks by his Karachi-based rival, “Chhota” Shakeel Ahmad Babu.

In the machismo world of Mumbai's gangsters, the charge of cowardice is the deepest possible insult — in this case, even betrayal, because Dey's work had historically cast Rajan as a patriot, fighting off the Inter-Services Intelligence backed Karachi mafias which had carried out the 1993 serial bombings in Mumbai.

For reasons that aren't clear, Dey never discussed what others might have seen as a threat with friends or colleagues. It is entirely possible he didn't see it as one.
.....

There's little reason to believe, though, that the article in itself would have been the cause of Dey's murder. Mumbai journalists have often gone considerably further in criticising mafia figures. Asian Age Husain Zaidi's racy “Mafia Queens of Mumbai,” for example, records that Shakeel had an affair with an incarcerated colleague's wife.
Part of the answer might lie in a somewhat mysterious visit Dey made to London on April 27. The holiday was booked through Raj Travels, a Mumbai tour operator which specialises in package holidays to families and couples. Dey travelled alone; others on the tour, interviewed by the Mumbai Police, have said he kept to himself.

No one knows quite why he went: even the young woman journalist he had become involved with as his marriage disintegrated, has told investigators he offered her no explanation.

Inside the Rajan gang, though, there was speculation that Dey had used the trip to speak with Iqbal Mirchi, a 1993 bombings fugitive who has successfully battled Indian extradition proceedings for years. Mr. Mirchi was granted leave to remain in the United Kingdom in 2001 — even though his name figures on a United States government list of key global narcotics traffickers.

No evidence to support these rumours has emerged: if Dey did speak to Mr. Mirchi, he didn't do so either from his cellphone.

But the unexplained visit, investigators speculate, likely set alarm bells ringing in the Rajan gang. Ever since he was almost assassinated in Bangkok back in 2001, by a Shakeel hit-team member posing as a pizza delivery boy, Rajan's paranoia has been legendary.
Dey built his career as a crime reporter as part of a small group of journalists admitted to the inner circle of Pradeep Sharma and Daya Nayak, two of the Mumbai Police's so-called “encounter specialists.”

Both men, were dismissed from service on charges related to corruption and organised crime links — but have won reinstatement after protracted legal battles, though other cases are still pending.

The two men, prosecutors allege, worked closely with Rajan, profiting in the process. In 2002, though, the relationship between Mr. Sharma and the Rajan gang fell apart after the execution of mafia money launderer Omprakash Singh — allegedly after he failed to pay back Rajan several million rupees of drug money.

There is no evidence to bear out media allegations that Dey profited from his contacts. The home he purchased in Mumbai's upscale Powai area was part-paid for with a loan which does not appear to be consistent with its full market value. However, property transactions in Mumbai are routinely undervalued for tax purposes, and Dey could well have saved enough to make the purchase legitimately.

Fairly or otherwise, though, Dey came to be identified as part of Mr. Sharma's caucus — possibly fuelling Rajan's fears that he, too, had defected to the other side.
“You're asking me to guess,” says a senior officer on the murder investigation, “so here's my guess: I think once the rumour got around that Mr. Dey was double-crossing Rajan, he wouldn't have done a lot of cross-checking.”

The senior Police brass (those who can actually do something) find their vocal chords only after they are no longer in the force. Any one care to check the assets of the former senior worthies now finding their voice?

That article contains little fact and a lot of insinuation and allegation. Clear indication that an effort is underway to malign Dey as well. From disintegrating marriage to supposedly dubious property purchase.

Russia says Dawood, LeT on its terror list, vows to boost co-operation with India
Saurabh Shukla | New Delhi, July 7, 2011 | Updated 17:34 IST

Russia has listed underworld don Dawood Ibrahim as a terror financier.
It's not just India, even Russia has identified underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan-based terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and HuJI as financiers of terrrorism.
The list in possession of Headlines Today names jihadi financiers, who are funding terror through money laundering.
Ambassador of Russia to India Alexander Kadakin told Headlines Today in an exclusive interview that Ibrahim had linkages with some terror groups in Russia and their financial links will be snapped by this classification.
Apart from naming Dawood and Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Russian list also says that Jamaat-ud-Dawa, headed by Hafiz Saeed, is being used as a cover for Lashkar's terror activities.
Part of the list compiled by Russian Justice Ministry identifies 48 organisations and over 1,500 individuals, whose illegal activities against Russia were established in court or whose activities on Russian territory were officially terminated. This part of the list names Lashkar-e-Taiba, whose activities were put to an end in Russia and banned by the court order.
Kadakin told Headlines Today that India and Russia were cooperating against these groups in a real-time manner. The list will make it difficult for Mumbai attack perpetrator Saeed to get any funding for LeT in the garb of charity organizations.
"This list will tell special services to block funds to these terror groups. The list will make it difficult for terror masterminds to find safe haven," Kadakin said. "We have given information to India on some Chechen terrorists being trained in Pakistan," Kadakin added.

The impunity with which Dawood Ibrahim operates shows he has backing form higher than ISI types. Could be the Aunty and unkil. Otherwise by now he would have been encountered and better yet brought to justice.

I think he passes on hawala transaction details to the unkil/aunty agencies so they can keep tabs on whats going on wrt Indian politicians and gullible elite.

Have we considered the possibility that D company could act as a bridge for Hackany network heads to escape to Somalia and into East Africa when Dronacharya starts handing out serious losses to their inner circle?

Both D company and Al-Shabaab in Mogadishu had quiet periods before upping the ante in September, this was during the time when Al-Shabaab made a tactical withdrawal to south west parts of Somalia.

DI will be buried in Karachi only

What ever it is, it has to be serious. Something is brewing.

The burqha brigade will not raise the issue unless it's a paise vasool case.

Imagine these undietv morons providing a forum for musharraf to discuss dawood in such glowing terms.
