As someone I know once said:

"Latest survey indicates 80% of Pakistanis don't want change to blasphemy laws. The remaining 20% killed the interviewer accusing him of blasphemy for asking if blasphemy laws should be changed "

Pakistani Muslim Foreign minister meets Kafir USAID chief Rajiv Shah
http://www.thenews.com.pk/article-68415 ... SAID-chief

WASHINGTON: Administrator USAID Kafir Dr Rajiv Shah called on the Pure Islamic Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Wednesday as the two sides reviewed the state of economic collaboration and USAID work and assistance projects in poor Pakistan. The pure Islamic Foreign Minister expressed deep gratitude for the aid being provided by the kafir US to Pakistan, particularly in times of global economic uncertainty. She also thanked for the timely and generous Kafir US humanitarian support during the floods in Pakistan in 2010 and 2011. Terming the US assistance as an investment in the future of the relationship, Islamic Foreign Minister Khar particularly appreciated USAID projects in the energy sector and road infrastructure.Large signature projects, the Foreign Minister pointed out, could be important symbols of the good that Pakistan-US partnership has brought to the people of Pakistan. In this regard, she appreciated the signing of the MoU for Peshawar-Torkham road for which $70 million is being released. She also stressed the desirability for timely "on budget" release of funds and the need for greater coordination and synergy in project implementation between USAID and Pakistan government.Pure Islamc Foreign Minister Khar reiterated that the Government of Pakistan favors early convening of the Working Groups on Economy and Finance, Trade and Market Access, Energy, and Water, to intensify collaboration between the two countries. The USAID Administrator, Rajiv Shah apprised the Foreign Minister of the USAID's operational difficulties in Pure Islamic Pakistan and urged the Government of Pakistan to address these to ensure smooth and effective delivery of the assistance. CRamS wrote:Recall 26/11? That, and the bragging thereafter was definetly a colossal strategic hit from TSP that sent a message. The main difference between TSP attacking US in Afghanistan and attacking India when it wants to with impunity is the bragging. In US's case, TSP maintains strict plausible deniability (which either the US knows about but decided that TSP is too much of a precious terrorist asset in its kitty to deal it severe retribution, or US is plagued by some form of impotency which I am not aware of), while in India's case TSP bragging is pretty brazen, "non state actors", "unresolved disputes" you name it, and you (India) try any retaliatory hanky panky and we'll nuke you. No wonder that has fetched them amank ki tamasha rewards.

This has to be the funniest defence of US impotence ever! Let us see now - documented evidence exists that Pak army provided funds to Mohd Atta (WTC), US leaders and top generals have gone on record stating that the Haqquanis etc are basically an extension of the ISI - who have killed over a 1000 US troops, OBL was hidden by the army in Abbottabad (despite the pak army being given cash and in kind funding by the US to hunt down this golden goose), Pak supported terrorists destroy an entire squadron of aircrafts! and the US response? - well so far given $23 bn dollars jiziya to Pak (your tax dollars are contributing to this sir!) and killed 24 soldiers in salala - hell the Indian army has killed more pak soldiers than that and hasn't had to pay a dime.
Your defence is Pak maintains 'plausible deniability' wrt US. I'm sorry - it does not appear so going by US general's and defence secretary comments. Still they shut up and pay up - wonder why? impotence?
So instead of parrotting this 'indian impotence' theme ad nauseum, perhaps it might be a good time to look in the mirror? no?

Paki Army kills 29 Pushtun civilians in Bajaur
PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Army on Wednesday said it killed 29 Taliban fighters in the final stage of an operation in Batwar valley of Bajaur Agency. Soldiers used artillery, helicopter gunships and fighter jets against the insurgents, accused of beheading 17 Pakistani soldiers in June. Around 400 militants had crossed from Afghanistan into Pakistan on August 23 and attacked villages, said a senior security official based in Khar, the main town of Bajaur. The army launched operations that killed around 120 militants, another security official said from the border town of Peshawar. Twenty-five soldiers also died in the fighting. “The militants escaped to their sanctuaries in Afghanistan and even left the bodies of their slain fighters,” said the Peshawar-based official. He said the armed forces were now establishing posts along that section of the Afghan border to thwart future incursions. A militant spokesman confirmed fighters from several regions staged the attacks. Joint efforts to secure the long and mountainous border along with Afghanistan were hampered by a NATO strike against a Pakistani base last November that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers and severely damaged relations between Pakistan and the United States for several months. The Batwar valley has now been cleansed of intruders and is under full control of security forces. agencies

Taking a cue from South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), we need to form one in Pakistan. It should consist of unbiased academics, historians, artists, politicians, professionals, jurists and religious leaders, all of them under oath with a singular objective to heal the entire nation. The commission should start from 1947 onwards and work its way up one year at a time. Whoever is responsible for atrocities, wrongdoings, injustice, inequity and plunder should be exposed without fear or favour. Let the people see the truth. Let the people reconcile with the past. Without accountability from day one, we are fooling the entire nation. If the creation of Pakistan was a mistake, then let us admit that and let us show the world what we have learned from our mistake. Wise are the ones who learn from their mistakes and foolish are the ones who cover up and pretend that they are perfect and could never commit any mistakes to begin with.

Man accused of blasphemy after refusing to join anti-Islam film protest
Pure Islamic Pakistan

HYDERABAD: A businessman accused of blasphemy has gone underground and wants the religious leaders to hear his viewpoint.Haji Nasrullah, who owns a market at Hala Naka area off National Highway and is the chairman of a local shopkeepers association, originally hails from Mohmand Agency.
According to Munir Abbasi, a police officer at the Hatri police station, Nasrullah was booked for blasphemy offence under sections 295-B and C on the complaint of Kachkol Khan.Abbasi explains that the trouble began on Sunday night when the city observed a strike against an anti-Islam film.“Some protesters wanted shops at the Hala Naka area closed in protest against the anti-Islam movie to which Nasrullah objected,” he said.According to Azam Jehangiri, some shopkeepers including the president of the association Najeeb Ahmed reported the matter to a mufti in a nearby mosque. “Ahmed alleged that Nasrullah used some very objectionable remarks against the Holy Prophet,” said Jehangiri, who is associated with Maulana Fazal Rehman’s Jamiat-i-Islam.“Mufti Ashfaq asked whether he has witnesses to substantiate his claim. Ahmed accordingly produced those witnesses,” Jehangiri recalled.Subsequently, Abbasi says, after a brief gathering in the area mosque, scores of outraged religious parties activists and seminary students tried to attack Nasrullah’s house, leading to a clash.
Maulana Taj Mohammad Nahyoon, Hyderabad district president JUI (Fazal), is currently spearheading protests against Nasrullah and demanding his arrest. He had an FIR registered against Nasrullah for alleged blasphemy after addressing a press conference at the local press club on Monday afternoon.

May be moved to another appropriate thread
Pakis had moved the PoWs to places including Oman
An eyewitness Sukhdev Singh claims Prisoner of 1971 War Sep Jaspal Singh of Punjab Regiment is still alive in OMAN (Masira Island, jail). It appears that Pakistan had shifted all POWs to different such places/ jails like Masira Island, forever. Copy of letter from Baljit Kaur w/o Sep Jaspal Singh is reproduced below, as received. Is this true? If the answer is ‘Yes’, in such an eventuality the government of India needs to investigate and take action — Indian Defence Review.

I have a noob question. Even though Koran is holy as claimed by some, it also needs to be printed just like any other printing material.
1. In the process of printing, some will get ink smudges, is it counted blasphemy.
2. In the process of binding or some other work, what happens co-workers will have a friendly curse chat, while still holding some Koran, will it be counted as insulting or abusing prophet.
3. Some of the printing waste is sold as scraps, while the papers still has some koranic verses, will the seller and buyer are committing blasphemy.

As part of Aman Ki Asha, GOI should force all Hindi CHannels to Play International Gorilay on Prime time as superhit film from Pakistan.

Once enough Indians see the junk, the Paki mindset will be understood by the masses to the detriment of WKK.

India is going full steam ahead with trade liberalization for which, it claims, visa liberalization is a prerequisite and has gone ahead with that too.

Indian newspapers, analysts and WKKs continue to refer to Pakistan having having bestowed MFN status on India. In BRf, we have been realistic and challenged such notions based on the duplicitous nature of Pakistanis and their policies, especially towards India. Here is a confirmation on the reality in trade matters.
While Pakistan had given the bilateral trade talks a big push earlier this year by giving up the regressive positive list import regime with India in favour of a more liberal negative list regime, it still permits a very small number of items to be traded through the land route.

So, while the number of items allowed to be imported from India has increased from less than 2,000 to over 7,000, the number of products that Pakistan allows to be brought in through the land route still remains at 137.

From Daily Times

Bomb targeting PAF bus kills 10

* 34 others wounded; glass, metal and pieces of human flesh litter ground near a busy market on Kohat Road

* Three PAF civil employees among those injured; van damaged

PESHAWAR: A powerful car bomb apparently targeting a vehicle of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) near Scheme Chowk on Kohat Road killed 10 people and wounded 34 others, including women and children, in a terrorist attack on Wednesday, police said.

“At least nine people have been killed in the blast and 34 others wounded,” senior administration official Javed Marwat told AFP. Glass, metal and pieces of human flesh littered ground near a busy market on Kohat Road. The blast also damaged four vehicles, including the PAF’s, however, passengers of a Kohat-bound coaster were the victims. The blast completely destroyed the bus. No group claimed responsibility for the blast.

“It is unclear whether the terrorists targeted the air force vehicle or were simply interested in bloodbath of innocent people,” Badhaber Police Station in-charge Naseem Hayat told reporters. “It appears as if the PAF vehicle was the target,” said a senior police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Bomb Disposal Squad Additional IG Shafqat Malik told reporters the bomb was planted in a car parked at a roadside that exploded when a PAF vehicle was passing by. He said 30 to 40 kilogrammes of explosives had been used in the explosion.

At this rate, will the Porki population growth turn negative?

Rehman Malik's disqualification now has no great impact. The PPP government's term will come to an end in two months' time at the most. Besides, Rehman Malik has already become an advisor.

Expecting concessions: Pakistan seeks greater access to Indian markets
In this regard, commerce secretaries from both countries will hold talks on September 20 and 21. They will discuss phasing out the negative list; the opening of a second land route through the Wagah border; and preferential arrangements under the Safta agreement, according to the Ministry of Commerce. Both sides will also review other broader areas of cooperation; including power, petroleum products and the opening of bank branches in each other’s country.

First amendment is not applicable in the rest of the world. It is a US law. Apologizing and restricting free speech in other countries have nothing to do with first amendment. Last I checked pakistan was not following US constitution.

On the other hand, countless other religions can claim to be hurt when Muslims chant the kalima "there is no god except Allah " hurts my sentiments as a Hindu / Jain / Buddhist / wiccan whatever. Proselyting Islam is encouraging Hindus to convert and thereby commit blasphemy against Hinduism so where is the apology for that?

When will this hypocritical chutiyapa end?

The Pakistani army was drafted in to protect foreign embassies on Thursday after thousands of violent protesters clashed with police on the eve of an expected day of anti-western fury across the Islamic world.

Dozens of people were wounded during vicious street fighting after masses of students, many carrying banners of hardline religious parties, attempted to converge on the diplomatic quarter in the heart of the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.

The outbreak of serious violence for the first time in the capital comes amid escalating tension, with protests held on consecutive days all around the country.

On Thursday the rising threat prompted the US state department to harden its travel warning for American citizens, explicitly warning them against non-essential trips to Pakistan.

Authorities in Islamabad had been making significant preparations for what many fear will be the most violent day of protests since controversy first flared around a YouTube video called Innocence of Muslims that ridicules Islam.

In response the government declared Friday "a day of love for the prophet", a move which was welcomed by the Taliban and which risks substantially increasing the already high threat of violence on the traditional Islamic holy day.

But the crowds of young men made short work of the various measures put in place, with protesters simply pushing to one side some of the huge metal sea containers that had been positioned to seal off sensitive areas of the capital, including the enclave.

Police did manage to prevent crowds reaching the entrance to the diplomatic enclave, but that simply prompted them to fight on a nearby road, directly outside the Serena, Islamabad's grandest five-star hotel.

Teargas canisters were lobbed back at police lines and into the grounds of the Serena, prompting police to fire live rounds into the air amid some unconfirmed reports that some demonstrators had been injured by gun shots.

At one stage a group of police was surrounded on all sides by demonstrators and were pelted with stones. Protesters set fire to the few things available to them on the wide boulevards of Islamabad, including traffic cones and police checkposts.

Rehman Baig, a posgraduate student, said the mission of the crowd was to reach the US embassy, a large complex deep inside the diplomatic enclave, and demand the dismissal of the ambassador.

"The infidels want to capture Muslim lands, defame Muslims and plunder our wealth," he said. He also demanded to know why the makers of Innocence of Muslims, have not been arrested.

"If they can find and kill Osama then why can't they catch this film-maker and punish him?"

Many demonstrators carried placards, including one saying: "Obama we are all Osama", and the flags of hardline religious parties, including the banner of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, a group associated with banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

I thought that they have not shown such partiality. They have equally divided their attention to PN as well.

Wow ! TSP has another avenue to make money and the Americans have another avenue to shower their largesse on TSP. Perfect combination.
