Pakistan firmly casts its lot with the Taliban. This article is remarkable in its frankness and possibly a ISI plant.

http://dawn.com/2012/11/30/pakistan-to-remain-aligned-with-afghan-pashtuns/

As the endgame in Afghanistan draws near, strategists in Islamabad have decided in principle to remain closely aligned with the Afghan Pashtuns instead of seeking new allies...“It appears as if everyone’s rushing to the exit and, therefore, we need to play our cards wisely to protect our own interests and pre-empt the 1989-like situation,” the official said. The insistence by non-Pashtuns on conditions about acceptance of the Afghan Constitution and renunciation of violence, among others, is being seen by Islamabad as an attempt to keep Taliban, who are opposed to pre-conditions, out of the reconciliation process.

The article is a warning to India that the PA has not changed its 'hostility' doctrine with India one wee bit.

From NUGGETS, TFT
General Ehtesham Zameer's secret files

Daly Jang carried Saleem Safi's column saying that the clerical leaders of the MMA were seduced by the promise of power after 2002 election. The seducer was ISI's General Ehtesham Zameer who regaled them to big meals and halwa. But one clever cleric managed a peek into the pages of the files the general had on the table as he talked to them. In them he saw the name of PPP (Patriot) whose members had been plucked from the mother party to make up the PMLQ majority. The MMA leaders knew they did not stand a chance in the new setup and walked out after eating halwa.

Chinese experts being ‘harassed’ in Badin

Chinese experts carrying out a seismic survey to locate hydrocarbon deposits in Badin district to overcome the country’s energy crisis are being harassed, their costly equipment have been damaged and obstacles are being created to stop them from carrying out their work
A Chinese team led by Chinese commercial counsellor Yan Jianming conveyed this information to Sindh chief secretary Raja Mohammad Abbas in a meeting on Thursday

So, in Ma-lalaland, if you are harassed by criminals and if your commercial objectives are affected, you don't take the matter up with the local cops. You go straight to the top. Next time, try the army.

Mysterious Metal Objects in Dadu fell from Hatf-V missile: ISPR
“The metal parts found in a remote area of Dadu, as reported in media today, were part of the motor body, which separated from the missile as planned, well within the safety corridor,” said a statement by the ISPR.

It was ensured that at no point, would human life or property be at risk. There is no cause for alarm or concern,” the spokesman concluded.

Fear and bewilderment overtook some parts of Dadu district after the mysterious objects fell on a number of villages late on Wednesday, the Dawn newspaper had reported.

The biggest fragment weighing 187 kilograms fell on a ground in Allah Jurio Lund village, 30 kilometres from Dadu. Other pieces fell on Pir Mashaikh, Shehak Rodnani and Khandhani villages.

Now, now. Heavy metallic parts fall on populated places and PA claims that the parts fell within the safety corridor and that there was no concern or alarm ?

I think the missile veered off course.

We on BR know him more the so called Gujral doctrine, and the damage it has done to India, but I met him at a private function in NYC, several years back, before 9/11. Very warm and down-to-earth guy, and what struck me then was that he had the right pulse: he cited TSP terrorism bolstered by US aid during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, as one of the reasons holding India held back. My point being that in death, I would give him credit for at least recognizing the problem even though his solution has been a disaster.

US drone misses target in Pakistan

A US drone fired two missiles at suspected militants in the restive South Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan though there were no casualties, officials said today.

Yesterday, Bad taliban targeted 'Establishment friendly' Good taliban. And now US drones too target Good taliban in south wasiristan.

The second factor is cognitive dissonance. Let me tell you a pisko story. So I met a motorma from across the border whose calling in life is to propound and propagate "Islamic feminism".

I am neither against Islam nor against Feminism, but certainly against Islamic Feminism -- which tries to argue that feminist principles can be derived from Islam which is a load of bull. Instead of splitting our hair about nuances in each, lets use a sledgehammer. Radical Feminism encourages and supports Lesbianism as a matter of choice for women. Islam is against it and recommends women are waji-bull-cutlet if they are Lesbians. There you go. How on earth are you going to argue that Lesbianism can be derived from Islamic principles? The proponents of this bullsh1t like "Islamic Feminism" like to argue that things like Burka are for the woman's own welfare, since now women wont be objectified. Which is a moronic argument, because from first principles that Burka is derived, it is also clear that women cant vote either (or should consult and take the advice of their husbands on who to vote for). How can getting husband's permission be reconciled with a philosophy which propounds independent thinking for women?

Instead of trashing her philosophy, I was more interested in finding out why an educated and seemingly smart motorma would propound such bullsh1t. It is because of cognitive dissonance. You are taught a religion and philosophy right from when you are born and are young. You grow up and realize it is completely incompatible with the modern world and incompatible with the values and luxuries you cherish. What do you do then?

1. You can either accept the incompatibility and give up one or the other,
or
2. You can embark on delusional mumbo-jumbo on why they are compatible in the first place.

I think No 2 is what most Pakistanis do in pakistan (pun intended). You get it in the form of "Islamic feminism" and entire country espousing "Islamic Banking", ZAB's "Islamic socialism" and yes Mr Hamdani's "Was Jinnah a man of Unity and Minority rights?"* Trying to reconcile two obviously incompatible beliefs by self delusional and obviously laughable assertions and distortions of truth which they pursue with full passion.

*Even in the case of terrorism, Pakis (and even smart ones like Sethi and Agha) somehow seek to justify it from time to time. Like "natural reaction of people" or "evidence is not enough". They seem to have trouble stomaching the reality that Pakistan government (yes I said government instead of "Retired Rogue ISI working during medical leave of absence") plans and launches terrorist operations by brainwashing unemployed abduls on Islam and Jihad to go kill innocent people from countries all over the world. This is not how civilized countries behave towards their own people and people of other countries. But Sethi and Agha were born and brought up in Pakistan and I am sure have affection and patriotism for their country. So what do you do? You propound some bullsh1t somehow trying to reconcile the love for your country with the barbarity it practices.

Three boys aged 12 to 14 held in Pakistan 'on their way to train as suicide bombers'

The children - aged 12 to 14 - were being transported from Karachi to a city in north Waziristan, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, when police arrested them following a tip-off.

...It reports the children, originally from south Waziristan but living in Karachi, confessed to police they were travelling for suicide bomb training.

Khan told CNN the trio and alleged handler Yahya Medsud were brought before an anti-terror court yesterday. The police official said the handler is accused of being part of a gang that recruits young boys for suicide bombing.

Is this the Islamic nation that Djinnah dreamt off? Is this the Islamic ummah they want to create in India after invading it?

kenop wrote:For demanding wages, 5 teenaged girls gang raped in Pakistan by landlords
Five teenaged girls from the same family were gang raped by two landlords and their aides in Pakistan's Punjab province after a relative of the girls asked a landlord to pay him his wages, according to media reports today.

Landlords Mara Jat and Zaheer Jat and their aides tied up labourer Mohammad Boota and his wife and raped the girls, aged between 13 and 18 years, at Kitro in Sheikhupura district yesterday.

Members of Boota's family told the media that the girls were abducted by the landlords and taken into the fields, where they were gang raped.

All the girls were unmarried, police officials said.

The incident occurred after Boota, who had moved to Kitro two weeks ago to work in the fields, demanded his salary from the landlords who had employed him.

The landlords and their aides warned him of dire consequences.

Police have filed an FIR, which quoted Boota as saying that he and his wife managed to free themselves and went to search for the girls.

They found the girls in a field while the landlords and their aides managed to escape.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited Boota's residence and directed police to immediately arrest all the accused.

He presented cheques to the victim's family and assured them that the accused would be brought to justice.

Police officer Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal said an initial medical report had confirmed that the girls were raped.

A case has been registered against eight men and three men have been been arrested, he said.

Without 4 male witnesses, the police and the doctors are liable to be called murtad while the girls are in line for stoning till death for adultery.

May islamic sharia reign supreme.

'Water war', Pakistani style

Brahma Chellaney in his book Water: Asia's New Battleground (Harper/Collins 2011) remarks: 'Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi told a national news conference in April 2010 and said: "Is India stealing that water from you? No, it is not. Please do not fool yourself and do not misguide the nation. We are mismanaging that water". Despite his confession, the Pakistani government has continued to spotlight water as a contentious bilateral matter. One possible reason for its raking up the water issue in recent years is that it helps Pakistan to redirect attention away from India's focus on cross-border terrorism emanating from Pakistani territory as the core concern' (p.223).

Pakis say they would sacrifice their lives for Kashmir, but they end up loosing life in kashmir.

From another source

Azad Kashmir landslide kills three soldiers: Military

A first landslide hit early Friday, killing the three soldiers, said Raja Saqib Majeed, deputy commissioner of Neelam district, of which Kel is part.

Later in the morning the 10 civilians and eight soldiers made it to the site to search for, he told AFP.

“Another landslide hit this rescue party and they were buried under it,” he added.

The bodies of the three soldiers had been recovered but rescuers were still hunting for the eight soldiers and 10 civilians from the search party, local official Raja Saqib Majeed told AFP.

Its soo funny to read. The landslide took 3 paki soldiers first. It waited till the rescue parties arrival and ambushed them.

Exports to Pakistan hit due to rail wagon shortage
You may ask why there is a shortage. The reason is:
Exporters further said the cement laden wagons coming from Pakistan were being used for sending commodities from India to Pakistan for export. “Since goods train from Pakistan is not coming to India, we are not getting rail wagons for supply of exports,”

You may ask why goods trains are not coming from TSP. The reason is:
Exporters said that problem of wagon shortage emerged when Pakistan-based traders stopped supplying cement via rail after the recovery of huge consignment of heroin in a cargo train.

Over 140 kg of heroin has been seized during last five months in goods train coming from Pakistan, official sources said.

"Shia school of thought". Never seen this before but I could be wrong. Is this normal in Paki press or is this the new "Ahmedi place of worship"?

The mindless fanaticism on both sides of the border is causing wastage of precious economic resources on defense expenditure. India should show a big heart compared to its size and disband its army. It will strengthen the democratic forces in Pakistan.

X-Posting from Indian Foreign Policy ,

The nuclear threat by Shahibzada to Gujral ...

From the link above ...

...
THERE was one significant and scary juncture in India’s foreign policy under his charge that he has left unexplained. In fact, the eternal debate is about just how scary that moment was. It was during V.P. Singh’s government in the summer of 1990, when India and Pakistan came close to war over Kashmir. Benazir Bhutto, feeling pressured by her army, was making speeches of the kind that would make Hafiz Saeed look relatively moderate. She was threatening to cut Jagmohan, then governor of Kashmir, into little pieces: jag-jag, mo-mo, han-han, she said making chopping motions from one hand on the other arm at a Muzaffarabad rally. She repeated her late father’s favourite rant of waging a 1,000-year war against India. V.P. Singh responded in Parliament by asking if Pakistan would last 1,000 hours. It’s an aside, but I made a semi-facetious calculation in India Today (in partnership with defence expert Ravi Rikhye) to show how expensive a 1,000-hour (nearly 45-day) war would be, and even if India won decisively, how little it would achieve. But this story really opened up much later.

First, Seymour Hersh claimed (“On the Nuclear Edge”, The New Yorker, March 29, 1993) that Pakistan had indeed threatened to start that war with a nuclear attack against India and that threat had been conveyed to South Block by Bob Gates, then deputy national security advisor, who was the US president’s emissary to the subcontinent. This was immediately denied. But a much more detailed description of those perilous days appeared in a subsequent book (Critical Mass: The Dangerous Race for Superweapons in a Fragmenting World, William E. Burrows and Robert Windrem, Simon & Schuster, 1994). Again, there were denials. But now they sounded thin.

The story, that Gates brought the warning to New Delhi, was never conclusively established. But at one point, many years later, after a great deal of cajoling and pleading, Gujral admitted to having had a curious conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Sahibzada Yakub Khan. Sahibzada had come to India ostensibly to defuse tensions. But he said, as they walked down the South Block corridor, “Gujral sahib, this will not be like any of the decent, clean wars we have fought in the past. Your rivers, mountains, cities, will all be on fire, a fire of the kind you cannot imagine, and on the first day itself.” Gujral admitted he was taken aback. But he said he gathered his wits and replied: “Aisi baatein na karein toh achcha hai, Yakub sahib... kyunki humne bhi unheen daryaon ka paani piya hai jinka aapne...” The closest translation would be, keep these threats to yourself, because you will be paid back in kind.

I did persist with researching this over the years. That the Pakistanis threatened to begin the war with a nuclear attack is a fact. It is, truly, the first example of a nuclear blackmail. Did it work? That question is not fully answered yet. The one key witness who was most directly in the picture, Air Chief Marshal S.K. “Polly” Mehra, was the most forthcoming. He confirmed the threat and recounted how he was called by V.P. Singh and nervously asked, in front of Gujral, if he could prevent a Pakistani plane from delivering that “bomb”. Mehra said no air force could guarantee that. He could reasonably make sure, though, that the intruder wouldn’t go back. But, if such a thing happened, we need to retaliate, he said, and then asked an important question: “If the IAF has to deliver something in retaliation, can we at least see what it looks like? We can then figure out on which platform to put it, and how to deliver it. What are its aerodynamics, and so on.” Mehra said while this conversation was on, he saw Gujral in some sort of a panic, almost sprinting in and out of the room carrying fresh sheets of paper, obviously cables of some kind, and showing them to V.P. Singh. This much I was able to confirm with V.P. Singh himself, on the record. The implicit, and shocking story is, that if India did have a credible, deliverable deterrent then, its armed forces had not even seen it. More likely, India did not. We can say with certainty that this is when India finally dropped all notions of nuclear ambiguity and embarked on full-fledged weaponisation. Whether the Pakistani nuclear blackmail then worked, whether it intimidated V.P. Singh’s truly weak government, and if so, into what, is what we do not yet know. It is one of the most important questions Gujral has left unanswered.

According to islamic sharia, the punishment is valid and legal.

Since the constitution of Pakistan abides by Sharia, the qazi agrees with it and there is nothing wrong with it -- by order of Pakistan Supreme Qazi.
