Admission of state sponsored terrorism by Pakistani authorities

see this Der Spigel Interview where Musharraf admits to that.

On 7th Nov in TimesNow Channel, Tasneem Noorani, a former Secretary of the Pakistani Interior Ministry, openly said that.

Kiyani called the Haqqanis as strategic assets.

In Dec. 2008, President Zardari himself admitted to ISI helping LeT. He said,"The links between the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency and the LeT were developed in the old days when dictators used to run the country. After the 9/11 terror attacks in the US, things have changed to a great extent"

In an address to bureaucrats in July 2009, President Zardari said: "Militants and extremists were deliberately created and nurtured as a policy to achieve some short-term tactical objectives. Let us be truthful to ourselves and make a candid admission of the realities. The terrorists of today were the heroes of yesteryears until 9/11 occurred and they began to haunt us as well"

In Nov. 2009, Prime Minister Gilani admitted to the support for terrorism by Musharraf as "running with the hares and hunting with the hounds".

When Bush warned the Pakistanis in August 2008 of their support to Al Qaeda, Afrasiab Khattak, President of Awami National Party (ANP) said this: "The question is why it has taken the Americans so long to see what the ISI is doing. We’ve been telling them for years but they wouldn’t buy it.". See here.

In an interview to the BBC as far back as on Feb. 13, 1994, Benazir Bhutto admitted how she handed over to Rajiv Gandhi the complete list of Sikh activists colluding with the ISI in terrorism in the Punjab. Later, Nawaz Sharif described this interview as a faux pas.

Apart from these, of course, numerous Pakistani commentators, analysts, and editors have openly admitted to terror as a state policy.

Why Did Pakistan's Spy Chief Make a Secret Trip to China?
Quote:
Pasha's China trip has been interpreted by some as a tacit act of defiance—a reminder to his American counterparts that the Pakistanis can always look east to their “all-weather” friend across the Himalayas rather than bend the knee to the will of the U.S.

But it also may be a sign of China's growing disquiet with Pakistan. Another top-ranking Pakistani military officer, Lt. Gen Wahid Arshad, had already conducted a considerable tour of China just weeks ago in a bid to improve ties. A few analysts have suggested that Pasha's trip — couched in vague terms about building a “broad-based strategic dialogue” — may have been less a visit and more of a summons.
Quote:
Chinese officials claimed the attacks in Kashgar were authored by the shadowy East Turkestan Islamic Movement, a jihadist organization of mostly ethnic Uighurs, a Turkic Muslim minority that comprises the majority in the far-western Chinese region of Xinjiang. China routinely invokes the specter of the terrorist threat when cracking down on dissent in the restive region. Yet disturbances there tend to be triggered more often by social discontent — many Uighurs chafe at state policies they deem discriminatory and marginalizing — than militant connivance. Pasha's presence in Beijing may mark Beijing's continued efforts to root out Uighur dissidents and sympathizers beyond China's borders, as it has already done in Kazakhstan.

Bismillah the new dhaga with with this biratherly news
Pakistan is like India's younger brother and if relations between the two neighbours improve, they will be super powers, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has said."Pakistan is like our younger brother. If we stand by each other, we will be super powers and no one can challenge us,"
Yadav said while addressing convocation ceremony of a private university in Moradabad on Wednesday.
He alleged the Centre was not taking efforts to improve relations between the two neighbours.
The government was turning a blind eye to "negative" activities of China and only concentrating on Pakistan's "weaknesses", he said.
Addressing the gathering, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said the right combination of "triple E"-education, employment and energy - was the key to success.
Waiting for some reaction if any. I am sure Pukistan does not need any help to be the super power.

'Zero Dark Thirty' unofficially banned in Pakistan

Well done Bakistan.

I am outraged! Yindians invented Zero and are dark. Zero Dark Thirty should have been a movie about India, not Pakistan!

A movie about Pakistan should be rightly called "Pure Fair 72"

He might not understand that it is rather difficult to be brothers and improve relations when one of the two PARTIES (refuse to call porkis our brothers  ) is holding a sword on the neck of the other.

James B wrote: Birkin Babe's New Restaurant

Quote:
The ambience at the Polo Lounge is serene and reeks of old money, a lot like its owner, some would say. After all, the fine-dining restaurant is Hina Rabbani Khar's 'baby'. On the menu are steak, prawn and lobster - quite fittingly "foreign" for an eatery owned by Pakistan's foreign minister.
Checked tripadvisor's link on this "fine-dining" and "reeks of old money" joint, though LaWhore and not Slumabad:

Price range: $10 - $15
And this is upscale in Al-Bakistan, assuming per person.

In shias there are many numeric sects like Twelver (believe in 12 Imam), Fivers(believe in 5 Imam) Paki shias are seventy twoers (wajibul destine for 72) so hence forth we will call Paki shias as as seventy twoers

Hazara killers — supported from Punjab to the Middle East
Pakillstan
In the aftermath of the Quetta massacre, the arrests of a few Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) militants have been looked upon warily as nothing more than a ploy to placate an angry nation. If there was sincerity and strategic considerations behind this move, however, the headquarters of the Sunni extremist group in Punjab would have been dismantled much earlier. But with elections approaching, a full-fledged and whole-hearted operation against such militant groups seems highly unlikely, especially in the Punjab, the breeding ground of sectarian militants. This has much to do with the fact that in Punjab, extremist and militant groups have a strong electoral presence.“I doubt that there will be a real crackdown,” says author and journalist, Zahid Hussain, talking to Dawn.com: “The Punjab government has been looking the other way for too long and pursues the policy of appeasement.” He added that it had even made a covert deal for the release of LeJ leader Malik Ishaq.Seconding Hussain, defence analyst Hasan Askari Rizvi added: “The Punjab Government is known for patronising the LeJ and (its predecessor) Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP).”But it’s not only the Punjab government complicit in the inaction against extremist sectarian outfits. The centre hasn’t appeared earnest about the issue either.Hussain has serious reservations about Pakistan’s National Counter Terrorism Authority, for example. The authority was created in 2009 under an executive order. “It remains dormant and a toothless body because the bill has yet to be passed in the National Assembly. There is also the unresolved matter of whether it should fall under the umbrella of the interior ministry when in the original charter, it was to be under the prime minister,” he explainsAccording to Rizvi, “Organisations like the LeJ, the SSP and the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat (ASWJ) are politically convenient, especially for all the Punjab-based political parties and even the present Punjab government – and they will not go beyond a certain point to enrage them.”
“So while they will condemn acts of sectarian attacks and militancy, they will never muster the courage to condemn a particular group,” he explains. In addition, says Rizvi, these groups have embedded themselves in society by setting up schools, hospitals, mosques and other welfare organisations and created a strong support base, including those in the lower ranks of the police and the intelligence agencies.”“There is no place left in Quetta that remains safe for Hazaras, be it an educational institution, school, bus stops, government offices or a marketplace. Public space is increasingly shrinking for us.”It is very easy for the LeJ, a predominantly Punjabi group to thrive in Balochistan, he further explai.

Pakistani Islamic society making less and less sense
Islam Have Established Itself In Pakistan. Peace Be Upon Them
f we had to come to this why did we go through the trouble of Partition? I have wanted to ask this question for years but never could bring up the courage to frame it thus. (BC wished the Poakshit on us Indians)After all, how can one question the basis of one’s existence? But as we continue to invent ever more elaborate forms of extremism and violence – killing in the name of our higher faith and exulting no end when the wages of barbarism are impressive – this question returns to haunt me.I can understand our helplessness, or rather the army’s helplessness, in getting hold of someone like Hakeemullah Mehsud. He is in the mountains where our troops cannot go, perhaps for perfectly valid military reasons. It was not easy for the Americans to fight the Viet Cong and the Taliban plus Al-Qaeda are our Viet Cong. The Lashkar-e-Jhangvi claims proud responsibility for the Hazara massacres and while in Balochistan this may be a shadowy outfit, although there are enough reasons to think this is not the case, aren’t we aware that elements connected to this outfit, or mutations from it, are to be found across the four corners of the holy province of Punjab? Will anyone do anything about them? We’ll look and sound tough, count on this, but perish the thought of anyone actually doing something. Our jihadis used to dream of planting the green flag on the Delhi Red Fort or creating fanciful emirates in Central Asia. Those proving arduous undertakings, they have embarked upon a new jihad – conquering Pakistan from within. ( Masaa Allah , All Ham DHo Killah)

Sinners of my age are in a strange kind of bind. We remember Pakistan as it used to be, no ideal kingdom to be sure but for all its faults a good place to be in. And now this onslaught of ignorance and illiteracy, the population breeding as if the end of the world is at hand and a laughable class of people claiming the mantle of national leadership, each luminary of this class a bigger hypocrite than the fellow standing next to himThis is a tale of two countries, both named Pakistan. The Pakistan created in 1947 collapsed amidst the tumult of the 1971 war, the two-nation theory plunging into the waters of the Bay of Bengal. In the aftermath of that self-propelled disaster Zulfikar Ali Bhutto proclaimed the birth of a new Pakistan.. But learning nothing from history we have allowed that thing of fantasy to come to its present pass, a cockpit of some of the most confused ideologies to be found anywhere on the planet. With our national energies thus crippled how on earth do we get our priorities right? How on earth do we fix our economy and break our begging bowl, and bring out the potentiality of a people still able to achieve so much if only there was someone to light their path and show them the way?

Track 2'ers from Pakistan are singing a new tune.

Apparently both India and Pakistan need to protest to Saudi Arabia and stop funding from gulf for LeT and LeJ because they cause so much carnage in respective countries.

The above caught my eye and that is a blatant lie. Pakistan was never a good place to be in for the Pashtuns, for the Balochis, for the Bengalis, for the Hindus, for the Anglo-Indians, for the Ahmedis, for the Shi'a from the very beginning. They were systematically targetted and every passing year saw the screw tightening by a few grooves. During certain periods (such as ZAB or Zia), the screw was tightened rapidly and up a lot of notches but it was anyway going up only one way since August 14, 1947.

May be it was a good place to be in for Sunnis and now even that is getting shattered as only Deobandi/Wahhabi/Salafi/Takfiri brand of Sunni Islam is being allowed and the rest are being systematically eliminated just like what they did to the other groups in the 50s, 60s, 70s.

To claim therefore what the author claims is falsehood and he is whining because he is under attack today.

This thread is beginning to sound as Terrorist Republic of Denialistan. :D

Pretty soon they will deny, that they even exist! Since they are already denying the original reason of why they came into existence. (As a safe place for Muslims.)

rajanb, plausible deniability was the core ethos of Pakistan for all its misdeeds until the entire facade came tumbling down in the last decade or so. Of course, nowadays, TSP is brazen about its tactics.

Like how droneacharya is the national bird, schrodinger's pig should be the national animal of Al Bakistan. A citizen can be both state and non state actor. A project can be signed and not signed at the same time. A war is won and lost simultaneously. Truly Djinn physics.

Now, it will be a one story tenement for the homeless and the distraught in the land of plenty.

BTW, this was an MOU (non-binding, photo op ploy) between this dubious Abu Dhabi group and the paki magician to provide technical assistance over a period of 15 - 20 years to help the development of the Bahria Township. The paki group's overly optimistic estimate of the total value of the township, once fully developed and functioning, would be around $45Bn (including inflation of 20% at current rates and based on today's PkR - Dollar parity).

Paki faithfuls heard the term $45Bn and took it to the bank (and the press) literally. What's even funnier was the claim that it would provide employment to a million or two people!! Wow! That's $45K per zero-value momeen. Momentary happiness and whoops of joy all around and then.... reality sets in and there is darkness until the next outburst of baseless projections of unbelievable proportions.

There used to be a magician in India called Gogia Pasha in the 60's when I was a pre-teen. He would use the phrase "Gilli - Gilli - Gilli" before each act and presto!...Magic! Every time the pakis come up with such fantastic projections, I remember the same phrase.."Gilli - Gilli - Gilli".

Pretty soon they will deny, that they even exist! Since they are already denying the original reason of why they came into existence. (As a safe place for Muslims.)

I don't think this NYT op-ed by Uber TSP RAPE Moshin Hamid has been posted, but here it is. Puke Watch: Yes, TSP has lots of terrorist scum, yes we (TSP) are using them to hit India, but the "world" should not allow the rising Indian middle class to demand any retaliation, they must just absorb the terror attacks, because there TSPians are "piss loving" onlee

LeJ leader Malik Ishaque arrested for Quetta Shi'a killing - DAWN
The arrest comes a day after the Pakistan Army emphatically denied it maintained any links with the banned terror outfit. “The armed forces were not in contact with any militant organisation, including Lashkar-i-Jhangvi,” ISPR chief Maj-Gen Asim Bajwa told a media briefing on Thursday.

“There is no reason to think about army’s involvement with LJ,” the Dawn newspaper quoted Gen Bajwa as saying.

Human rights organisations have accused the army and its intelligence agencies of maintaining links with Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.

The allegations stem from the army using Ishaq for negotiating with the terrorists who had attacked the military headquarters in October 2009. Ishaq’s subsequent release from jail was sceptically seen as a deal. The escape of LJ’s operational commander in Balochistan, Usman Saifullah Kurd, in 2008 from a detention facility in the military Cantonment in Quetta has also raised questions.

My thoughts on the so called moderate muslim after watching MJ's full show. He says Jinnah changed his stance from homeland for muslims to homeland for islam. He also praises Jinnah for being truly secular. Jinnah is an example of a secular muslim home who played a major role in creation of a homeland for islam. Any hindu leader who even mentions homeland for hindus would have been shotdown by mainstream media and termed fanatic. MJ says the reason for Pakistan being in a mess was because Jinnah founded the country for islam. Had he founded the country instead for muslims Pakistan would not have been like this. This is madrassa logic. I am not surprised that a so called muslim intellectual talks like this. MJ says that shia/sunni split occured immediately after prophet died and it is political. What kind of political fight is this which lasted for 1300 years and still counting. The shia/sunni is just a family feud in the prophet family and the followers of this faith around the world are involved in this feud killing each other. MJ talks about democracy. One thing he did not point out is freedom of speach which includes freedom to criticize any religion openly. This freedom is dear to US where anyone can criticize any region. I can go on and on. This shows that even the so called muslim intellectual who is intelligent and can quote from history does not go anywhere near Koran or the founder. On the plus side I give him credit for defending and articulating the progress made by India since independence. My 2 cents.

“Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter gave us multi-million dollars worth of publicity by default. We plan to go to the United States and make a queue to hug both the daughter and the mother,” Sabih ur Rehman, special assistant to the chief executive, joked with Reuters.
Typical Paki bombast followed by denial by the concerned party.
The Pakistani brewery said it has reached an agreement with the Czech Republic’s Zatec Brewery initially to produce at least 5,000 cases, each containing 24 bottles of Murree Beer, annually from next year. That amount will double in 2015, Rehman said.
However, the managing director of Zatec Brewery, Martin Kec, said he knew nothing of this arrangement and his firm had only produced a very small amount of Murree Beer in the past.
And as usual, bite the hand that feeds you.
But company officials are hopeful, particularly for the US market. “Americans will drink anything. They are like fish,” Rehman said.

Pakistani man accuses ambassador to U.S. of blasphemy

Sherry Fass Gye
MULTAN, Pakistan (Reuters) - Pakistani police registered an accusation from a businessman on Thursday that the country's ambassador to the United States had committed blasphemy, a crime that carries the death penalty, in connection with a 2010 TV talk show. The accusation against Ambassador Sherry Rehman is the latest in a string of controversial blasphemy cases in Pakistan, a largely Muslim nation whose name translates as Land of the Pure.According to Pakistan's blasphemy laws, anyone found to have uttered words derogatory to the Prophet Muhammad can be put to death. Those who are accused are sometimes lynched by mobs even before they reach court.Rehman has already faced death threats from militants after calling for reforms to the country's anti-blasphemy law, according to court documents. Two politicians who suggested reforming the law were assassinated.
The case against Rehman was brought by businessman Muhammad Faheem Gill, 31, who said that the comments Rehman made about the law on the Pakistani talk show in 2010 were blasphemous."I've been trying to get this case registered for the last three years, ever since I saw that TV show," Gill told Reuters. "I've even gone to the highest court. I'm glad that action will finally be taken now."Gill went to the Supreme Court with his complaint after police refused to register it. The court ordered police in the central Pakistani city of Multan to investigate.

Pakistan State Oil ‘on its knees’, more blackouts threatened
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan State Oil may default on payments due this month unless state-run companies at least partially pay for their oil, a spokeswoman said on Thursday, putting energy supply at risk and threatening increased blackouts ahead of key elections.

The country’s largest energy company said last week it would be dramatically cutting back on the amount of oil companies can buy on credit, an action that would worsen already daily power cuts.

The power shortages have sparked violent protests and crippled key industries, costing hundreds of thousands of jobs in a country already beset by high unemployment, poverty and a local Taliban insurgency.

Four fathers come only when Bakis are on their knees, for then the four fathers know that Bakis are ready, but Bakis should not raise their hopes too much regarding payment.

400%.
1) Who in their right mind will risk investing $4B in Pakistan?
2) Only Paki news outlets have carried the reports.
3) No statement about it from Iran. Some Paki babu just announced it.
