The police shouldn't name him as Tripathi unless and until his family identifies him.

Not Indian -- from Rediff

14:06 Boston bombing suspect dead, other armed, dangerous: Massachusetts State Police, on its official Twitter feed, warns Watertown residents to stay in their homes and to not answer the door "unless it is an identified police officer." "If any concerns about someone at door, call 911 immediately. Repeat -- Do not answer door, stay away from windows, keep doors locked," the state police says in another tweet.

Boston police now say one suspect is deceased, the 2nd suspect (white hat) at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

3:57 2nd Boston bombing suspect is white, armed: Cops: Police warn residents not to answer the door unless it is a clearly identified police officer. One suspect has been taken into custody. The second suspect (in this picture released by the Boston police) is still at large is believed to be Caucasian and white.

looking at how they are pointing guns and the dress, doesnt look too impressive...it looks like the cops scampering outside Taj in 26-11 with SLRs and not looking very professional ... the pic above looks similar too. the old guy sitting on a stool(?) in front is likely to get hit by his buddies as well.

One captured Boston Marathon bombing suspect dies-Times Of India

Police have told residents of the town of Watertown near Boston to stay indoors and "stay away from windows" as they hunt a second suspect

Bad situation. This will make them all the more insecure and paranoid. Common man has to take hits while the arms lobby makes money.

No, I'm saying they shouldn't do that unless his family identified him. Cretins on social media have already been proved wrong once with the blue jacket guy.

From the scanner feeds, they're reporting that suspect #1 was shot, but was found to have an explosive vest strapped around him when taken into custody. There was also a code black (i.e. call EOD guys) reported from the hospital where they took him earlier. Not sure if the two incidents are related.

Would explain though why they made that other chap drop his clothes before they arrested him. Apparently the nanga chap we saw in the screenshots just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but I guess the police weren't taking any chances.

There is no official confirmation of the identities of the suspects as of yet. And it shows up the retarded TV news programs for what it is, here in oz land, for running with the Sunil Tripathi rumours as if it is a confirmed fact. The incompetence of the western media is another story that is going to emerge from this.

That's what they always say. In India they put an AK 47 in the dead man's hands. Human rights abuse! Dead men tell no tales.

Explosives used in Boston

If this was the sequence of events in India, there would be howls on Undie TV and Dimes Now with loudmouth Boorkah Dudd and Go-Mooth- Swamy mouthing inanities about Police ineptitude.

Here it is from NY Times.
The two suspects wanted in Monday’s deadly Boston marathon bombing, using guns and explosives in what appeared to be backpacks, engaged in a violent standoff with dozens of police on a street in Watertown, Mass., Thursday night, the police and residents said.

One suspect, seen in pictures released Thursday by the Federal Bureau of Investigation wearing a black hat, had been shot, said Timothy P. Alben of the Masschusetts State Police in a press conference early Friday morning. The other, pictured in a white hat, was at large, likely extremely dangerous and the subject of a sweeping manhunt in Watertown, a quiet residential community near Boston.

The bombing killed three and wounded more than 170.

Two residents of Laurel Street in Watertown said they heard what sounded like firecrackers going off shortly before midnight. When they looked out of their windows, they saw the two young men taking cover behind a black Mercedes sport utility vehicle, in a shootout with dozens of police about 70 yards away. A transit police officer was shot, said a police spokesman, Dave Procopio, and was in serious condition.

Mr. Procopio said there was a strong possibility that the incident in Watertown was also linked to the fatal shooting of a campus police officer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology earlier Thursday.

A Watertown resident, Andrew Kitzenberg, 29, said he looked out his third-floor window to see two young men of slight build in jackets engaged in “constant gunfire” with police officers. A police SUV “drove towards the shooters,” he said, and was shot at until it was severely damaged. It rolled out of control, Mr. Kitzenberg said, and crashed into two cars in his driveway.

The two shooters, he said, had a large, unwieldy bomb. “They lit it, still in the middle of the gunfire, and threw it. But it went 20 yards at most.” It exploded, he said, and one of the two men ran toward the gathered police officers. He was tackled, but it was not clear if he was shot, Mr. Kitzenberg said (hmm. this was the guy who was killed, Hyooman Rights Watch , with MMS's daughter in the lead should take up this case of heavily armed police officers shooting up an unarmed possibly mentally unstable guy , who was just running towards them to surrender and hug them. And if he was a "minority" there should be an apology and contrition towards his death and exemplary punishment for he police) .

The explosions, said another resident, Loretta Kehayias, 65, “lit up the whole house. I screamed. I’ve never seen anything like this, never, never, never.”

Meanwhile, the other young man, said Mr. Kitzenberg, got back into the SUV, turned it toward officers and “put the pedal to the metal.” The car “went right through the cops, broke right through and continued west.”

The two men left “a few backpacks right by the car, and there is a bomb robot out there now.” Police had told residents to stay away from their windows, he said.

At least two people, one of whom appeared to be a police officer and the other a man in handcuffs were taken from the scene in ambulances, said a Dexter Street resident who declined to give his name.

The F.B.I. early Friday released new images of the two young men being sought in the marathon bombings, as part of a campaign to identify them.

The incident in Watertown came just minutes after a third explosion of violence in Boston — a campus police officer was shot and killed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The officer, who was not publicly identified, had responded to a report of a disturbance near Vassar and Main Streets, Middlesex County District Attorney Michael Pelgro said in a statement early Friday. He was found, the statement said, with “multiple gunshot wounds” and taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

At the campus, helicopters whirred overhead, and police cars were dotted through the streets. A crime scene was cordoned off, and at least one canine unit was on the scene.
