Boston Bombing Followup Thread

Post by vina »

Something tells me that this entire episode is a David Coleman Headley II /redux. The only problem is that instead of creating mayhem against Russia , this Tamerlane guy turned against the US .

Just like David Headley, the US was warned about this guy , but cleared him, this guy had travelled to Pakistan, "skied" there, probably attended camps there, had a "martial arts" background , just like David Headley, everything that arouses suspicion , but still not brought in ?

This looks like a case of another US asset meant for use against Russia (like David Headley was against whoever) gone feral. This is another classic case of blow back for the US.

Mass. State Police chief Col Timothy Alben saying that after the suspect was located in the boat, their Police helicopter had a FLIR which saw the suspect by his heat signature inside the boat, and they then directed the police to the boat accordingly.

US itself is a country gone feral, why single out any single person in particular ? Bombs exploding .. well bombs have been exploding in public places in India since decades, so what's the big deal. For an Indian, there shouldn't be any deal.

Ok bomb exploded in united states, noted. Now move on.

And who cares if it's Headley redux, I mean who is going to bell the cat at this stunning info. Is the moral equivalence going to shame the united states into inaction ? they are still going to terrorise countries that do not have nuclear weapons or strong benefactors. So what changes ?

Naming some one after Taimurlang or Chengiz Khan is bad Karma. I am sure he will be persuaded to cooperate and give up anyone that may have helped him. Otherwise, killing an 8 year old is going to give him stiff penalty.

I dont think death penalty is there in MA, but he will spend rest of his life in a prison if he survives.
ofcourse if its a homie gone feral, agencies involved will be busy wiping all traces and doing coverups now, while another part of such agencies pursues the investigation.

remember the bourne identity series of films!

pakis will extract some baksheesh from massa for giving details of where these guys went and who they sat with. a few low level cur will be caught and rendered.

It appears that Russia (?) requested the US to investigate Timur guy for connection with the terrorists in 2011 which the FBI did but he was cleared probably because it was after all against Russia. The guy eventually turned against the US itself. This is a lesson that is refusing to be learnt. The mujahids were after all raised against the Russians and they came back to haunt big time. The Pakistanis were raised against India and they came back to haunt even bigger time.

only if a lot of feral terrorist attacks (dog biting master) is there a chance of GOTUS policy changing on that. for now its cheap - 2 terror attacks in 12 yrs, useful to expand domestic surveillance and control people, useful for foreign policy leverage...I see no reason why they will stop feeding the serpents just yet.

I find it interesting that as soon as this minor (as attacks go it was piddly) terrorist attack occurred in Boston the US started profiling foreigners. First it was Arabs, Then it was an Indian name.

But they were right. It was foreigners and Muslims at that.

Could it be said that for certain tpes of terorsit attacks, profiling turns out to be right.

Profiling culprits as possibly Muslims has been right in a very large number of terrorist attacks of a certain type in India.

If we had any brains and could set aside pseudosecular thoughts for a second, we could do a research study. Let me give you an example of a medical study that has actually been done

Patients seen for the first time with an infection are initially prescribed a "best guess" antibiotic. Later, after tests, the patient may or may not get a different and more appropriate antibiotic, if it turns out that there was a better alternative to the "best guess" after tests. So it is easy to build up a data base that tells you that for X type of infection, Y type of antibiotic should be used as best guess because it is most likely to be correct.

We could go back and do a retrospective academic study.

1. Collect records of terrorist attacks
2. Classify them like "Bomb bast in crowd", "school shoting" "random shooting"
3. Find records of what was speculated as "best guess" of who might be responsible at the time of the event
4. Compare later with who was actually responsible

You will find that profiling works quite well, I suspect. Everyone does it.

Random bomb attack in crowd
Modus operandi used by Lashkar e Taiba - Pressure Cooker
Therefore the terrorists are likely to be Islamic extremists

Uncle would be shit scared of the number of ungli that would be up his backside and of all his relatives after the investigation gets underway. so he decided attack was the best defence and positioned himself on the high ground by denouncing his nephews and being a strong square jawed all-american type on his front yard.

The whole family, including uncles aunts and kids moved over the last decade or so to the US as refugees. There is always a quid pro quo in such arrangements. But some in the family have deviated from the party line, hence uncle, dad and aunt all have different claims or world views. A very interesting case, which makes me think that this is not your regular jihadi sleeper cell. Authorities already had id'ed the two. They already knew something about them, as they were allegedly flagged by the Russian agency or maybe already used by their own. But for some reason they could not locate them over the last 3 days, till the duo decided to car jack at a gas station and then boast about their identity to the car owner who was later released unharmed. Strange indeed !

vina, It might help if you change the thread name to Boston Bombings FollowUp. There is a lot of questions on the tip off from foreign govt on the elder Tsarnev and the lack of followup. This will become quite bigger than the Benghazi Consulate attack and will have many threads pulled.
Might be lessons learned even for India from this attack.

Others can help by x- posting the relevant posts from the other thread here.

This is exactly how RAPE Pakistanis behave in America.

They behave so secular, and so freedom loving that the jeehard mentality is carefully hidden. Another news item on the now locked thread said that the father of the two men had been in Pakistan for many years. This brother did not mention any of that. Need to find out whether that earlier news item of father being a diplomat in Pakistan was true.

All this points to some hair-brained plan put up by the elder one as some sort of revenge against his handlers ? Indoctrination always helps in such cases, depending on values one can draw from one's heritage if one were to seek them out actively.

They kind of planned to stay put from the looks of it if they were not caught. In this age of cell phones with cameras, how did they think they could get away. Kind of stupid for sure, the only escape plan seems to be the alleged suicide vest worn by the elder one.

They may have been inspired by the unibomber and the rudolf guy who lived in the woods for many years as the lone wolf. But this duo here would not have survived for long and would not have been able to blend in even with their Caucasian looks in the wilderness. The younger one with his extended connections could not have gone underground without raising red flags. The elder one seems to have no connections as per his own admission and could have done it if he were alone. Not a smart guy to begin with.

1. Local mullah preaching piss and love in the mosque.
2. Idiots who followed him on Twitter
3. Facebook buffoons who 'liked' his posts
4. Paki connection who arranged for 'tourist visa'

They will expect a quiet kind FBI officer interviewing them with full tender loving care.

So the brothers Tsarnaev are

Tamerlan Tsarnaev
Dzhokar Tsarnaev

"Tamerlan" we already know as Timur the lame, the grandfather of Babar I believe.
"Dzhokar" is pronounced as "Jauher". Incidentally, "Jauher" is the Hindi/Rajasthanvi term for the mass suicide the womenfolk used to commit when a Rajput fort was sacked and the battle lost. It was a mass sati to avoid becoming the "right hand possessions" of the faithfool. I wonder if the name is glorified in that manner for that reason, like "Tamerlan".
Yes, he was grandfather of babar

It seems Djokhar is quite famous in Chechenya.
It is capital of that breakaway region renamed in 199from Grozny to Zoxar-gala also spelled as Jokhar-Ghala.
In Russian, "Grozny" means "fearsome", "awesome" or "redoubtable". During the existence of the separatist republic, the city was renamed Dzokhar-Ghala in 1996, and Chechen separatists sometimes continue to refer to the city as Dzhokhar or Djohar (Chechen: Джовхар-ГIала, Dƶovxar-Ġala); it was named so after Dzhokhar Dudaev, the first president of the separatist Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. As of December 2005, the Chechen parliament voted to rename the city Akhmadkala after Akhmad Kadyrov, a proposition which was rejected by his son Ramzan Kadyrov, the prime minister and later president of the republic.
Region was supported by USA and called The Chechen Republic of Ichkeria
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chechen_Re ... f_Ichkeria
Leader of that region Dzhokhar Musayevich Dudaev fully supported by USA till he was killed by a laser guided missile while talking on satellite phone
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dzhokhar_Dudayev
Dzhokhar Musayevich Dudaev (Chechen: Dudin Musa-khant Dʒouxar/Дудин Муса-кIант Жовхар; Russian: Джохар Мусаевич Дудаев; 15 February 1944 – 21 April 1996) was a Soviet Air Force general and Chechen leader, the first President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, a breakaway state in the North Caucasus.

Religion
Akhmad Kadyrov Mosque in Grozny

Islam is the predominant religion in Chechnya. Chechens are overwhelmingly adherents to Sunni Islam,[40] the country having converted to Islam between the 16th and the 19th centuries. Due to historical importance, many Chechens are Sufis, of either the Qadiri or Naqshbandi orders. Most of the population follows either the Shafi'i, Hanafi,[41] or Maliki[42] schools of jurisprudence, fiqh. The Shafi'i school of jurisprudence has a long tradition among the Chechens,[43] and thus it remains the most practiced.[44]

The once-strong Russian minority in Chechnya, mostly Terek Cossacks and estimated as numbering approximately 25,000 in 2012, are predominately Russian Orthodox, although presently only one church exists in Grozny. In August 2011, Archbishop Zosima of Vladikavkaz and Makhachkala performed the first mass baptism ceremony in the history of Chechen republic in the Terek River of Naursky District in which 35 citizens of Naursky and Shelkovsky districts were converted to Orthodoxy.[45]
In 2009, the American organization Freedom House included Chechnya in the "Worst of the Worst" list of most repressive societies in the world, together with Burma, North Korea, China's Tibet and others

GOP lawmaker calls for 'increased surveillance' of Muslims after attack
Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) called for “increased surveillance” of Muslims on Friday, saying the Boston Marathon bombing suspects' links to Chechnya represented a “new front” in the war on terror.
“Police have to be in the community, they have to build up as many sources as they can, and they have to realize that the threat is coming from the Muslim community and increase surveillance there,” the chairman of the House subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence told National Review. “We can’t be bound by political correctness. I think we need more police and more surveillance in the communities where the threat is coming from.”He went on to suggest that the two suspects' Chechen background and Tamerlan Tsarnaev's visit to Russia last year suggested increased radicalization of the Chechen community. The two brothers immigrated to the United States in 2001 from Kyrgyzstan, and the FBI has so far not released any evidence that they did not act alone.“There’s never been any history of any threats emanating in this country from the Chechen community,” King told the Review. “So in a way this opens up a new front in the war.”

Chechens toughest foes Canadians confront in Afghanistan
September 23, 2007

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- The toughest fighters confronting Canada’s Van Doos in Afghanistan are not Afghans but guerrillas from the volatile Russian republic of Chechnya.

That is the conclusion of a veteran Canadian infantryman who spends most of his time forward deployed in the Panjwei/Zahri districts establishing relationships with tribal elders and making security assessments.

Yep, apparently he didn't escape the gunfight last night entirely unscathed. He left a trail of blood when he took cover under the boat and that's what the boat owner noticed per news reports. I think Boston PD also knew he was wounded and simply waited till they were convinced he was too weak to resist and then charged in.

How’s that Arab Spring thingy working out for you Mr. President?
Hate to tell you Mr. President but Islam is at war. With us. Not that you’d notice, or admit it if you did.The media has been in a frenzy since the bombs went off in Boston, hoping for a “white guy” to be the bomber. At best, a “tax protestor” white guy. Well Karma is a bitchPlease note “World view: Islam” on his Facebook page. Leftists are grasping at straws because Chechens happen to be Caucasian and their desperation is simply pathetic. Here’s a tweet from Cynthia Tucker, a hard core leftist. The President and his flacks have been trying to make friends with Islamists since his first day in office. So far we’ve got the Muslim Brotherhood in control – sort of – of Egypt making life hell for all Egyptians while they institute Sharia. Who cares if the economy goes to hell or a few Christians get tortured and murdered, its small price to pay for new friends. Then there’s Syria and the ongoing soap opera with Assad and company and his WMDs. And the “Islamists” vs the “non-Islamists.” You really need a menu to tell the players in Syria. The only thing that’s pretty for sure is that whoever ends up in power, they won’t like us. I just hope we don’t put one soldier or Marine at risk for Syria, we should fence off the country and air drop small arms and ammo – lord knows DHS has plenty to donate to the cause – and wait until the shooting stops

If this was reported from India we people would say "Hindus are barbarians"

The reason why the Indian army publishes photos of dead Pak terrorists is that it is just as cathartic and therapeutic for Indians too - who happen to be human even of the are not good Muslims or good Christians.

Elder bro could be main link which might have exposed Unkil connection. So shot in fake encounter. All police show is to make it look real.
unkil prisons are worst place where human rights violations occur routinely and younger bro looks fresh enough to get used by inmates by turn. who is going to protect his human rights. he cant affor , perhaps lawyers and would get free legal aid lawyers and may not get justice. He also seems of impressionable age and could have been misguided by all those violent movies that unkil produces regularly. Gun and bomb culture is quite common and I am surprised that even MIT environ could not wean him away from all that violence pervading in the surroundings. Neither the community, highly intelligent ones at that, could sniff symptoms of malaise earlier.
Now he can not be given death penalty as per boston laws ,if the teenager survives excessive use of force by armed to the teeth boston and federal polizei.

OT but it seems that most of the brfites live in boston or frequently travel to it, perhaps MIT?

Jhujar, Also all this budget cuts due to sequestration will go by the wayside as the massive bill for 10K policemen to hunt for these two perpetrators will come home. And this will lead to a political fight on the Hill

SaiK, In a roundabout manner the President did say people sholudnt get carried away on internet.

I wish some desi lawyers sue Reddit and Twitter for defamation on behalf of the family.

ArmenT, For what they allowed to happen a mere apology is not enough. The good old American way is sue their pants off.

shiv, You didnt notice in that thread on page 25?

Gurus, how to manage Twitty threat from future trashing of Indic?
On a personal level:
Twitter has a policy against harassment, slander, abuse, etc. I do not think it is a bad idea to use Twitter's report feature. If Twitter has been informed of slander or harassment and it chooses to do nothing then a lawsuit can be filed against Twitter. You can always seek a lawyer's counsel on this.

As far as Indic is concerned, I am not really sure how to go about it.

I think we ought to respect the feelings of the Tripathi family and support whatever decision they make. After all, none of us in the peanut gallery have to deal with what they were put through. Here's what they said earlier:
Tripathi's family has put a statement on Facebook: "We have known unequivocally all along that neither individual suspected as responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings was Sunil. We are grateful to all of you who have followed us on Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit-supporting us over the recent hours."

The "catharsis news"? The thread was locked before I could read and respond.

I believe it is an important point.

Next time someone in the media makes a point about the Indian army publishing a photo of dead Pakistanis we need to have this handy. No Indian can admit to feeling better seeing a dead man. But when it comes from American police we can be sure that it is a wholesome thing, like Apple pie.
