Peshawar: Pakistani security forces have killed 75 militants and lost its 21 troops during the 34 days operation against the ultras in the country's tribal region close to Afghanistan border.

Deputy Commandant Frontier Corps Colonel Wasim Zafar Bhatti said about 75 militants were killed in 34 days operation.

Pakistan: 21 soldiers, 75 extremists killed

As many as 86 soldiers injured in the operation.

The forces were deployed on May 8 in the restive areas comprising 28 small and big villages and towns.
In all 15,000 plus individual comprising 1,700 families were dislocated due to the operation, who were put up in New Durrani Camp in Sadda tehsil of Kurram Agency.
The families being returned to their areas are provided three month ration and free transport by the FDMA (Fata Disaster Management Authority).

Very high casualty figures for the TSPA, considering that 21 dead is officially admitted and there are probably a lot of civilians
in the `75 extremist' list.
15000 ppl in 1700 families is a avg. household size of 8.8 (excluding goats) vs. 4.8 in India (with the worst states at 5.7).

Some gems from the comments section

... Might as well ban Pakistan from ICC events. Better yet Pakistan should just walk out. That might put the ICC and the other member states to their knees :rotfl: . ....
ICC should assist the PCB in making neutral venues more profitable for Pakistan
... Its depressing to see the ICC’s unwillingness to go the extra mile to assist a country which brings millions of fans to the sport :((

... Pakistan and India should play maximum cricket either in India or at neutral venues. Pakistani talent should be saved and allowed to groom in next ten years...

This doesn’t matter. Once Misbah Ul Haq hits the winning runs of the 2015 World Cup, the ICC will automatically schedule all upcoming tournaments in Pakistan :rotfl:

An Epiphany.

Back in my early days of surfing and posting on BRF, I used to champion for signs of the breakup or implosion of pa'astan. Phew! I am so glad that did not happen although it seems every now and then that benighted land drunkenly totters on the edge of one dark abyss after another. The fall out of hundreds of millions of self-entitled bearded momeens, self-proclaimed "economic experts" and fully veiled (and fertile) motormamas in full religious zeal running around freely in a state of ecstatic frenzy and claiming ownership rights to every asset in the region scares the living bejeezus out of me.

Hafeez Sayed asks TSP Government not to buy electricity from India - ToI
Pakistan should not buy electricity from India, Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed has told the government, days after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed his power minister to visit India to address the severe energy crisis facing the country.

"India is producing electricity on Pakistani rivers and offering the same to us to buy. Don't our rulers understand this basic point?" Saeed, the mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, asked while addressing an 'Ummat Conference' at Sheikhupura, some 40 kilometres from here, on Sunday.

Saeed, who is carrying a $10 million bounty on his head declared by the US, has been freely moving and conducting his activities mostly in Punjab, a province of 90 million.

"There is no need to beg India..," Saeed, the former head of banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, added.

His warning to the Sharif government came in the wake of its proposed plan to buy electricity from India and China to cope with the current energy crisis.

Finance minister Ishaq Dar had said India is ready to sell up to 2000 MW electricity to Pakistan and "we are seriously pondering to purchase electricity from India."

Sharif had told members of the Pak-India Joint Business Council last week that he had directed Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Water and Power, to visit India and explore potential areas of cooperation between the two countries.

I have a question for Branalysts. Given that sunnis are killing thousands of shias and other Muslim-kafirs in NWFP and Balochistan every year, what's stopping shias and others from responding in kind? Why can't they take the fight to Rawalpindi and Lahore? Thanks in advance!

The kind of attacks that are mounted on Shias and Hazaras and others like the baloch require certain type of resources and support which is exclusively provided to the sunnis by the terrorist army of pakistan. And over the last few decades the population of non sunnis has gone down due to such state approved culling.

Without such resources they cant retaliate in similar force. But they do what they can

It is not as though the Shi'as have been complete dhimmis like some other people. They have also retaliated but they are 20% of the population against the 80% TFTA who have the backing of all the apparatus of the State. For example, see Sipah Mohammed whose political wing is Tehrik Jaffria Pakistan (TJP)

I see. But why don't we hear about loving explosions in Rawalpindi and Lahore that much? Even if the population is a low 20%, why are there so few peaceful blasts in the core Paki areas? It should not be too difficult for a handful of Shia/Baloch freedom fighters to infiltrate the elite areas? Or is it? The last major attempt I remember was in GHQ Rawalpindi, but I am not sure whether it was TTP/Sunnis or the Shias who did it. Even the Mehran Naval-base attack was attributed to the Taliban. Hate to bring in India here, but given the attacks in India by (elements from) a less numerous minority on targets such as the Parliament, Delhi High Court, Mumbai 26/11 and so on, the % argument does not seem to be the only explanation. What else is stopping them?

OT/Thanks Rajdeep bhau.

Since Pakzadhi Lahori Government have given huge amount of grant money to LET/Half-iz Suar, how do we go by reporting this to Powers in DC and UNO ? The whole Pakjabi government, ministers and officers ought to be on the international No Fly List and their financial interests in WEST under sanction for promoting this terrorist man and his organization.

Gen Kiyani is a shia.
Zardari is a shia.
Musharraf's wife Sehba is a shia/qadiyani.
Birkin Babe is a shia.

All Kiyani's are hereditary shias from Iran. So any claims to profess Sunni allegiance would hold thin in any case.

Shias are highly educated and were the erstwhile ruling class of Pakistan. Many are also highly-qualified medical professionals etc. Some shias like Ghulam Mustafa Khar & Faisal Hayat (was some minister in past) are very big landowners in Pakjab. They are the creme of Pakistani professional class. Zafar Hilaly, the bald diplo who often appears on Arnab's 9'0 clock drama is also shia. This is the profile of the shia class, as I get it. An elite, exclusivist section of muslims in Pakistan who have somehow cordoned themselves off from the hoi polloi via education, wealth, foreign diplomacy etc. They would be the rattiest class amongst the RAPEs in confronting the commons or masses. They would imagine pogroms in their sleep of the jealous, toiling masses wiping them out at any time. So how are the shias are going to bomb GHQ and president's house ? They have cordoned off their areas in defence and other boutique localities, the only exposed shias are the hazaras in Quetta and some others in Karachi. And they are getting a banging.

Point taken. It seems you are saying that the elites (RAPES) whether Shia or Sunni are shielding each other. But then the question becomes, if the hoi-polloi Sunnis are attacking hoi-polloi Shias in mosques, dargahs and bazars, why can't/don't hoi-polloi Shias do that to hoi-polloi Sunnis, at least in the areas where they are in sizeable numbers? Also, as I mentioned before, how difficult would it be to send a small diplomatic contingent of Shias on a peaceful mission to a neighboring hoi-polloi Sunni community? If a few pious abduls can take a cruise to Mumbai, why can't Shia/Baloch freedom fighters explore the neighboring Baki world too?

Sorry I only have questions but no answers.

the hoi-polloi shias are hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned. Also influential shias are not willing to give anyone protection, they are not willing to risk their feudal-RAPE-professional-political status for some hazara shia.

Hafisuar is exactly right. Even a bigot, acting from the depths of his bigotry, can sometimes see and do the right thing, when even the enlightened chankians of the world cannot bring themselves to, for whatever reason. This guy should be the PM of bakistan. Takes that hellhole to the 7th century, gets quarantined by the entire world, and gives somnolent Indians the final opportunity to detach themselves once and for all from this abomination. Nobody gets to play the "moderately enlightened" card anymore. Win-win for all.

If wishes were horses.

Now wait for op-eds on discrimination of minorities in India.

Duniya Kei Kone Kone mey,Pahuncha yeh Paigam:Islam is Pakistan:pakistan is islam

Pakistan bleeds with Kaffirs blood, islam is Here?

Pakistan started dying the day it was born. Our “Islam”, our “Musalmaniyat” was the cancer that started feeding the hate and disgust that we feel toward one another.Once upon a time it was the Christians and Hindus and Parsis who felt scared. Now we Muslims feel scared of other Muslims. Islam’s neck was held by the throat and squeezed till its eyes popped. As a result Islam was replaced by a vicious form of barbarianism. When Pakistan started dying, we held candlelit vigils. We made Facebook pages dedicated to the cause of defending our fallen brothers. We promised we’re all Pakistanis. But one by one we kept falling. When Pakistan started dying we Tweeted nonstop. We shouted, fought, but we lost. When it was our turn to be slaughtered like animals, we cried and we begged for mercy that was never forthcoming. They came for the Hindus. We didn’t care. They came for the Christians. We didn’t care. They came for the Ahmadis. We said Ahmadis deserve this! They slaughtered Salman Taseer. We garlanded his murderer. They came for the Shias. We turned a blind eye. They’re coming for us and there is nothing anybody is doing about it.

^^^ Pakistan was doomed because of Islam. Islam was born with tyranny that is directed inward along with an artificial sense of "oppression" that is used to fuel delusions and conspiracies.

If there is no one to "other" Islam will divide and invent some community to fulfill that role. Ex: Shia, Sunni, Ahmedia etc etc. Humans inherently look for communities that they can belong to, and in that sense end up automatically othering people from the communities that they dont belong to. Islam turns this othering into visceral hatred and blood lust.

Pakistan has "matured" at an inopportune time, i.e. with the explosion (no pun intended) of internet and 24/7 news channels, Islamic delusions have started multiplying and propagating at the speed of light. These delusions are fed into young crazed teenagers who would not mind killing themselves to kill others.

Pakistan was destined to fail the moment it was born. I am wondering why anyone who understands Islam is wondering why Pakistan is in the state that it is in.

Very plausible, though. This is the only reason why Pakis are still keeping a few Hindus and Christians alive.

The author of Malsi takes a look at the blasphemy issue:

The Blasphemy merry-go-round

When Pakistan’s founding fathers stand by the Mumtaz Qadri of pre-partition India, when Islamic history itself is brimming with practical implementation of the Blasphemy Law, and when the law itself traces its roots in the religion’s foundation, screaming bloody murder over Mujahid Khan’s claims can be dubbed hollow rhetoric or amateur jibes at best. Before slamming Mumtaz Qadri one should deride the legacy of Ilam Din and the mindset of our founding fathers. Before condemning Mumtaz Qadri one would have to chop off the theological and judicial roots upon which superstructure of Dar-ul-Islam stands. That would take the combination of cojones and honesty that the most vocal of Qadri’s critics seem to be devoid of.

^^ Kunwar Khuldune Shahid is an honest man. He further writes -
Ilam Din’s (or “Ghazi Ilam Din Shaheed” as he is more popularly known) case is the obvious choice for the relevant juxtaposition. By killing Raj Pal in the year 1929, who was the publisher – not the writer – of a blasphemous book, Ilam Din managed to carve out a legacy of veneration in the hearts of the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent. This murder was defended by Father of the Nation, the “epitome of secularity”, Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the Lahore High Court, while the Poet of the Nation Allama Iqbal dubbed the killer a “matchless warrior”, and is on record as saying at Ilam Din’s funeral, “We just did all the talking, it was the carpenter’s boy who took home the glory.” Jinnah was a part of Ilam Din’s defence in court at a time when he was still the ostensible flag-bearer of Hindu-Muslim unity, while Iqbal extolled the murder while he was scribing The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, a book that later on confirmed that Iqbal’s apparent reconstruction was supposed to be done by brushing the 20th century paint on the same antediluvian bricks.

Added: People like Advani ji should consider this track record of Jinnah and his followers who claim that he only recoiled in disgust at the Hindutva of Gandhi and created Pakistan to protect Islam.

D'oh!

Now wait for op-eds on discrimination of minorities in India.

Not surprising. Immediately after Partition, Jinnah and his cronies prevented Hindus who were then engaged in this activity from leaving Karachi. They said Muslims could not do that task which was meant only for slaves.

the sipah-e-muhammed did take out some sunni. i think their greatest achievement was the gunning of azam tariq - head of sipah-e-sahaba.

at that time there was a regular tit for tat going on between these two.

and then came a period of 'bad taliban' attacking the state and military and there were regular bombings, and i think a detente happened between these two or maybe the S-e-M was wiped out in retaliation..

SS can correct me..
