At stake: LNG services tender faces an uncertain fate
ISLAMABAD : A tender that sought bids for services related to liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports faces uncertainty as the parent company of a Chinese contractor, which has submitted a bid in association with a Pakistani company, has been blacklisted by the World Bank, sources say.

According to tender documents available with The Express Tribune, any company, its affiliate or agent debarred from contracts by the World Bank would be disqualified in the tender for
LNG services contract invited by the Inter State Gas Systems (ISGS).

Engro Vopak Terminal Limited (EVTL) has submitted the offer for LNG services in partnership with China Harbour Engineering Company, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company, which has been blacklisted by the World Bank until January 2017

Pipeline ..PD

Pakistan gas contract probably dead
The contract for supplying gas to Pakistan is likely to be annalled,” Fars quoted Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh as saying on the sidelines of a gas forum in Tehran on Wednesday. He gave no other details, Fars said.
Dubbed the “peace pipeline”, the $7.5 billion project has faced repeated delays since it was conceived in the 1990s to connect Iran’s giant South Pars gas field to Pakistan and India.Until now Iranian officials have insisted that the project to supply Islamabad will be completed.Exasperated by the lack of work across the border, Iran has even offered to build Pakistan’s 780-kilometre section and provide multi-million dollar loans to help pay for it, according to Iranian media reports. On October 1 he warned that Iran faced serious gas shortages of its own because of slow progress in raising production from South Pars, the field that is supposed to fill the pipeline.India quit the project in 2009, citing costs and security issues, a year after it signed a nuclear deal with Washington.

Finally. Good news. Rejoice. Bakistan will no (longer) accept violation of sovirginty: Nawaz

After the Chinese, its the turn of the Ukstanis to jump with joy with the kiss-fest:
he (Nawaz) said that his current visit to the United Kingdom was bearing fruit
He said Pak-UK ties were on the high wave, growing stronger with each passing day
enemies of Pakistan as common enemies of both countries
Friends of Pakistan are friends of Britain
enemies of Pakistan are enemies of Britain
UK premier proved his close affinity with the people of Pakistan
The UK was major contributor to education sector in Pakistan and it could also help in counter-terror force with its resources
we wanted trade not aid
After this outburst, ukstanis must be really touched.

Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan has been Pakistaning The Land of the Pure and the Home of the Terrorists!

The UK's most expensive repossession on sale for £30million
A mansion on one of the world's most expensive streets has been put on the market for a whopping £30 million in what has been dubbed the UK's most expensive repossession.

Dryades is located in the centre of The Bishops Avenue, a leafy street dubbed Billionaires' Row.

The owners of the property, a Pakistani political dynasty, have had it seized by the bank following a lengthy High Court battle.
Its value could be approaching the £100 million mark when completed, making it one of the country¹s most valuable new residences.
The home was bought for around £12 million in 2005 by the family of Pakistan's former privatisation minister Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan as they looked to invest in the London property market.

In 2007 it was used to secure a £50 million loan with Deutsche Bank, but a lengthy debt and possession dispute between both parties resulted in the family losing the home earlier this year.

But It will require 24/7 electricity in the meeting room and it must be produced from the local Indian water given to Pakistan and using locally produced equipment. Electricity produced by imported equipment will tantamounts to 3rd part interference. Paki must fullfill these minimum conditions to start the dialogue.

Police arrest 18 over Nanga Parbat massacre
ISLAMABAD: Police in Gilgit-Baltistan said Thursday they have arrested 18 suspects over the killing of 10 foreign climbers in the Himalayas in June, but warned that others remain at large. The June 22 attack was the deadliest assault on foreigners in Pakistan for a decade and was claimed by a purported new faction of Pakistan’s umbrella Taliban movement, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).Police in the northern districts of Gilgit and Diamer in the Gilgit-Baltistan region said they have arrested 18 suspects on suspicion of planning and carrying out the attack. The officer leading the investigation said only four of those held are believed to have been directly involved in the killings at the foot of Pakistan’s second highest mountain Nanga Parbat.“We have arrested four culprits who shot the tourists at Nanga Parbat base camp while seven are still at large,” Muhammad Naveed told AFP.The victims of the attack, carried out by men in police uniforms, were identified as one American with dual Chinese citizenship, three Ukrainians, two other Chinese, two Slovakians, one Lithuanian and one Nepalese. A Pakistani guide was also killed.Further details of the attack have emerged during interrogation. The suspects have revealed that their original plan was to kidnap the trekkers, an investigating officer said.“They said their plan went foul when one of the Chinese resisted after they approached them,” he said.“After the Chinese tourist retaliated, one of the terrorists fired a shot that killed him and the terrorists fought with each other over it. After that they sprayed bullets at all the tourists.”Asked if the kidnap could have worked, the officer said it would have been almost impossible for them to escape with the hostages because of the difficult terrain.A senior official of the local administration said extremists from Diamer district had linked up with the Pakistani Taliban and travelled to the tribal areas along the Afghan border for training.A group of 35 including the 18 detainees was trained in North Waziristan.“This group was launched as an extension of the Pakistani Taliban in the northern region,” the official told AFP, adding that the group had been behind a rise in killings targeting Shia Muslims in the north.Naveed, the senior police officer, also confirmed that some of the suspects arrested in connection with the Nanga Parbat attack had links with the Pakistani Taliban. After the attack the Taliban said it had set up a new faction, Junood ul-Hifsa, to kill foreigners to avenge US drone strikes on Taliban and Al-Qaeda operatives in northwest Pakistan.

That's the evil Hindu bania speaking. Look at the chankianness. First, India removes all the electricity from the water that belongs to Pakistan and then asks it to produce electricity from that water for 'peace dialogue' to go forward.

India's involvement in Pakistan, as claimed by it Link
After the briefing, Mr. Chaudhry [Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry] did not comment on a news report which alleged an Indian nexus with the Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan which was causing terror strikes in Pakistan. He said he didn’t have the full details. However, he said Pakistan expects Afghanistan not to use its territory for anti- Pakistan activities. It had also demanded the handing over of an arrested Taliban leader. The presence of the TTP in Afghanistan was a matter of concern and a subject of discussion with Afghanistan, he said. The News on Thursday reported that “Pakistan got an endorsement from the U.S.-led NATO- ISAF top command about the existence of a nefarious Kabul -New Delhi nexus harbouring safe havens across the Durand Line. The nexus is being used for subversive activities inside Pakistan to derail the peace process.

The report said the recent arrest of TTP second in command Latifullah Mehsud by the U.S.-led NATO forces and his subsequent interrogation had endorsed the Pakistani viewpoint on how the Kabul-New Delhi nexus was actively involved in terrorism in Pakistan. A report in The New York Times had exposed plans for terror strikes inside Pakistan after a U.S. raid. Mehsud was picked up by U.S. troops while he was travelling with the Afghan army, according to news reports.

Quoting informed sources The News said that not only it had been confirmed that the recent fatal attack on Major General Sanaullah and two others in Upper Dir was the work of Kabul and New Delhi but the later attacks on the All Saints Church and two other bomb blasts in Peshawar were masterminded by the same nexus and with the help of local militants.

Six shia hazara coal miners shot dead in Balochistan

QUETTA: Six coal miners were shot dead while another was injured in Mach area of Kachi district – about 90 kilometers off Quetta – on Friday.

“The victims are labourers who belonged to the Shia Hazara community. It is clearly a sectarian targeted killing,” DC Kachi Waheed Shah told Express Tribune.

The coal miners were returning from a trip to Mach bazaar, where they often went to shop on Fridays. The crime scene is seven kilometer off the main highway.

“As they crossed a huge drainage off the national highway, a group of armed men opened fire at their vehicle,” added DC Shah.

Levies officials and security forces reached the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. However, the assailants had already escaped by then. The injured is said to be in a critical condition.

A week ago, seven passenger buses of Shia pilgrims were attacked with a car bomb. The blast killed two personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) while Shia pilgrims remained unhurt in the attack.

Upon observing a car suspiciously parked near the highway, FC personnel stopped the buses from proceeding on the National Highway in the Dringar area of Mastung. As they tried to search the vehicle, a explosion took place.

"No beautiful wife, no bungalow: The many regrets of India's terror chief
November 01, 2013 13:37 IST
Yasin Bhatkal, the chief of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen who was recently arrested by Indian security agencies, came across as extremely bitter and disillusioned about his mentor -- the Inter Services Intelligence -- during his interrogation.
Yasin claimed that the Pakistani spy agency had no idea who was carrying out the ground work in India and “doing their dirty work”.
He informed security agencies that while his fellow terror operative Iqbal Bhatkal was married to a beautiful woman, Riyaz Bhatkal, another operative, “was living like a king in Karachi”.
When Yasin was questioned about the role of the ISI behind the Indian Mujahideen, this is what he had to say:
“They control the Indian Mujahideen but never recognise who does the hard work. Riyaz Bhatkal has been provided with a large bungalow in Karachi and lives like a king, but he does not work any longer. His brother Iqbal, who also lives with him, is happily married to a very beautiful woman.
“When these operatives fled to Pakistan, we carried on their work. We did a much better job. Pakistan had supported Riyaz and Iqbal financially and otherwise, but we were made to fend for ourselves. The ISI did not want a money trail leading up to them; so we had to plan and carry out terror strikes by ourselves.
“The ISI never rewarded us for our efforts, but we believed in a cause and continued with our work. The ISI wanted to have a say in each and every attack. Initially we listened to them, but later we started carrying out attacks by ourselves. ISI mein sabi chor hai (Every member of ISI is a thief)......"

US drones: Pakistani teenager tells US how his grandmother was killed by strike
He said he first heard the drone hovering overhead but was not concerned because neither he nor his grandmother were militants.
“Now I prefer cloudy days when the drones don’t fly. When the sky brightens and becomes blue, the drones return and so does the fear. Children don’t play so often now, and have stopped going to school. Education isn’t possible as long as the drones circle overhead.”
Now here is what the paki goberment says

Pakistan says only 3% of drone strike victims were civilians
According to the Defense Ministry’s data, 317 drone strikes have killed 2,160 Islamist militants and 67 civilians over the last five years. The latest report also stated that not a single civilian died in the 59 strikes conducted in 2012 and 2013, but 319 militants were killed.
Last week, the Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, on a visit to the White House urged President Obama to stop the strikes, but the president demonstrated no desire to comply with the demands.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani government regularly criticizes the drone program in public, even though reports emerged that it might have secretly supported at least some of the strikes.

Pakistan Airports to Get Security Gear from Japan - Japan Times
Japan has extended Pakistan a $20 million grant for installation of security equipment at airports serving Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to help them meet international requirements.

“Our assistance to Pakistan has been broadened to a security sphere,” Japanese Ambassador Hiroshi Inomata said at a signing ceremony Thursday. “The airport project that I cemented today is part of Japan’s assistance to respond to what Pakistan really needs today.”

Fourteen sets of explosive detection systems, three sets of vehicle scanners and three sets of vehicle cargo scanners will be installed at the three airports in October 2015. Training will also be provided to operators of the equipment.

The equipment should help the airports lower the risk of security-related incidents and meet the security standards set by the U.S. and EU, the Japanese Embassy said.

“It is my great honor that international flights departing from Pakistan will obtain compliance and gain credibility :D with the help of Japanese people and our government,” Inomata said.

Japan - Russia Hold Talks, With Eyes on China - Straits Times
Japan and Russia began high-level talks in Tokyo on Friday that are expected to focus on security cooperation and a territorial dispute that has kept the nations from signing a peace treaty.

Preliminary meetings were held late Friday. The main discussions among Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Fumio Kishida and Defense Ministers Sergei Shoigu and Itsunori Onodera are scheduled for Saturday.

In the preliminary talks between the foreign ministers, Mr Kishida expressed hope that territorial issues would be discussed. Kyodo News agency said the two ministers agreed to expand economic cooperation.

Separately, the defence ministers agreed to expand joint military exercises and other exchanges, public broadcaster NHK reported. Japan is seeking to broaden its defence ties, in addition to its key security alliance with the United States, in response to China's growing military presence and threats from North Korea.

At least five militants, including Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud, were killed when a US drone targeted a compound in Dande Darpakhel area of the restive North Waziristan tribal agency on Friday evening.
Sources told Dawn.com that the compound was completely destroyed as an important meeting of the Pakistani Taliban was ongoing when two missiles hit the compound.

Tariq Mehsud, a personal guard of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Hakimullah, was also killed in the attack, multiple sources confirmed.

If it is Hakimullah he will get his 72, else other terrorists got their 72. 72 houris has work, its just the ownership issue.

Praise be to drones, it has once again proven its worth. If there is a competition between Allaah & Drones, Drones by far is a clear winner defeating allaah.

According to some reports, drone missile hit a compound in Dande Darpakhel where a meeting was being held.
According to official Pak army statement, Mehsud saheb was leaving from a mosque in Dande Darpakhel when the drone missile hit his vehicle.

PA does not want to mention that the drone attack was on a mosque lest it creates controversy

Meanwhile civilian gobarmint official said death of Mehsud could not be confirmed :rotfl: (civvies totally out of the loop)

Last week a US congressman said drone attacks will stop if Pakistan wants. Now we all know that right from Zardari to Nawaz Shariff, every civilian leader has been crying violation of sovirginity by drones and that it needs to stop. Yet the US congressman says it will stop if Pakistan wants to. Clearly, he is showing who is in charge of decision making in Pakistan. Meanwhile civvies are being made bakra by PA. It looks like in private meetings with civvies, PA is condemning drone attacks and civvies are thinking this is the official policy

It is free for all in pakistan. At times PA provides information about terror orgs to amrikhans, at times PA provides information about drone strikes to any of numerous terror orgs. Either way polio workers die. Hopefully PA don't have to doubt polio workers the way some doctor was blamed for information abt Osama bin Laden but no one was blamed for hiding Osama bin Laden.

If true, it is the handiwork of the PA behind the backs of Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz is neither foolish enough to do so nor he dislikes the jihadis. The PA has been consistently against the 'talks' with the TTP and openly warned NS as well against the talks. The coordinates of the meeting went from the ISI, therefore.

In any case, the Punjab should be on the boil soon (even if Hakeemullah survived).

Pak Taliban Chief Hakimullah Killed in American Drone Strike - ToI
However, the Pakistani Taliban confirmed on Friday that Mehsud had been killed in a drone strike in the lawless Pakistani region of North Waziristan, senior Taliban and Pakistani intelligence sources told news agencies.

"Hakimullah Mehsud's funeral is scheduled for 3pm (Saturday) in Miranshah," an intelligence source said, referring to the main regional city.

A senior US intelligence official confirmed the strike overnight, saying the US received positive confirmation Friday morning that he had been killed.

Two senior intelligence officials in North Waziristan said agents sent to the site of the attack in a village outside of the main city of the province confirmed his identity.

The Taliban commanders said at least four missiles struck just after a vehicle in which Mehsud was driving entered the compound.
