Certainly is a concern and equivalent to a crazed European running you over in their van/truck/lorry.Lalmohan wrote:Thats great, but perhaps spare a thought for the threat to normal society that people like that represent
Alex Jones might have something to do with it. The Infowars founder — who has an “amazing” reputation, according to Trump — has for years promoted the notion that the U.S. government possesses the power to conjure and control weather events. Just last week, as Hurricane Harvey battered Texas, Jones devoted part of his show to questioning why the government didn't “use the technologies to kill [the storm] out in the gulf.”
“It is weird how these storms go,” he said, suggesting Harvey might have been manufactured or manipulated. “They just sit over a city.”
Jones's contention is that the government — or, more precisely, the “deep state,” now that Trump is president — uses its “weather weapon” to stoke fear of climate change and promote a liberal agenda.
Jones might be a fringe figure, but he increasingly bleeds into the mainstream, thanks in part to Trump's validation. Witness Limbaugh's monologue about Irma, which echoed some of Jones's conspiracy theory.
Blacks were brought as slaves and many who rebelled physically or intellectually were euthanised. They were bred like race horses to be physically strong in order to work on plantations and farms. This is why they excel at sports. About 1/3 of all black men in their lifetime have been arrested and incarcerated. Consequently black families have suffered and has led to high crime rates. Blacks didn't become free until the civil rights laws of 1965. Even the US military was segregated until 1948.Yagnasri wrote:Disclosure: Never been to the US.

I cannot say about the Indians in the US, maybe KJo, RB and others can, but please enlighten me how he as the POTUS in his second term was better for India as a country?Mort Walker wrote:^^^He was better for Indians in the US and India as a country in his 2nd term.

Both acted for what they see as US Interests. Nothing more or nothing less. Barring HC type candidate, US leadership now need to look for Indian interests to a greater extent as we become greater power economically and militarily and at the same time when they see a greater threat to them from China. It is only this situation that changes their policies towards us. Nothing else and we expect nothing more or nothing less.Rudradev wrote:+1008Mort Walker wrote:^^^He was better for Indians in the US and India as a country in his 2nd term.
No question about it.
From a pro India perspective, Obama overall was the best POTUS so far, with the sole exception of George W Bush (although Bush also had several negatives w.r.t. India: he massively increased/revitalized US aid to Pakistan, vastly increased the access of US-based international EJ groups to US government funding and diplomatic backing, deferred to TSPA/ISI on keeping India out of Afghanistan, and presided over whatever CIA/DEA ops facilitated David Headley in planning & executing the 26/11 attacks).
guess seen too much of hollywood movies where it is always the American who defies nature and saves the world.Karthik S wrote:TIMEVerified account

PS:Personal letter to der Fuhrer Trump.Venezuela's president says Donald Trump is 'the new Hitler'
'We are prepared to take further action if the government of Venezuela persists on its path to impose authoritarian rule on the Venezuelan people,' Mr Trump had said earlier

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called Donald Trump “the new Hitler” of international politics, responding to the US President's call for world leaders to help restore democracy in the South American country.
Mr Trump had used a portion of his stark address to the United Nations General Assembly to single out Mr Maduro's regime, which the US leader has called a “dictatorship”.
“The magnate thinks he is the owner of the world, but no one threatens Venezuela,” said Mr Maduro, who did not attend the annual gathering of world leaders and diplomats.

Mr Maduro also accused Mr Trump of threatening to assassinate him, even though the US leader did no such thing.
*(how about the innumerable failed attempts against Fidel?)
“The Venezuelan people are starving and their country is collapsing. Their democratic institutions are being destroyed. This situation is completely unacceptable and we cannot stand by and watch,” Mr Trump said. “I ask every country represented here today to be prepared to do more to address this very real crisis.”
Last month, Mr Trump signed an executive order imposing stronger financial sanctions on Venezuela, escalating the US's crackdown on the South American country.
Recession and currency controls in Venezuela have led to declines in local production and imports of foreign goods, resulting in shortages of everything from flour to vaccines and medicines. The crisis is so severe that 75 per cent of the country’s population has lost an average of 19 pounds in weight, a study by three Venezuelen universities has found.
During his speech on Tuesday, Mr Trump threatened to build upon the US's sweeping economic sanctions if Mr Maduro “persists on a path to impose authoritarian rule.”

However, he did not repeat his earlier threat to consider military options, a day after dining with leaders of four Latin American countries who made clear they would oppose such action.
“We are fortunate to have incredibly strong and healthy trade relationships with many of the Latin American countries gathered here today,” Mr Trump said in his speech. “Our economic bond forms a critical foundation for advancing peace and prosperity for all of our people and all of our neighbors.”

We have just learned moments ago that there allegedly are in fact tapes which exist, that prove President Trump has committed some form of Treason. According to Congressman Alan Grayson’s wife, Dr. Dena Grayson (also a former candidate for Congress herself), two separate “reliable” sources have informed her that evidence exists on tapes, that the mainstream media has been holding off on sharing with the public.
This tweet came as a response to former White House staffer, and veteran of 3 presidential campaigns, Claude Taylor reporting the following:
“I’m told with certainty by most reliable source that ‘Big News’ tying Trump directly to Russia is going to drop. Exact timing only question.”
Dr. Grayson then went on to post another tweet in her thread which read:
“MSM has audio/transcripts of Bannon & Kush, along w/Daddy’s favorite, Kremlin Barbie “merrily treasoning”
If you walk along the National Mall this November, you'll see the Smithsonian Museums, the Washington Monument, Capitol Hill, and, possibly, something else: a 45-foot tall nude sculpture of a woman. The Amazonian figure would tower over the National Mall next to the Washington Monument, directly facing the White House until March 28 to promote women's equality.
“These sculptures are about expressing what it would be like if women were safe,” Cochrane said. "To me this sculpture answers that question . . . She’s absolutely fearless and accepting and being able to do that is a really powerful thing."
"This year's theme is in response to a lot of the social disconnect and politics going on in our community right now," said Sanam Ememi, an activist and community organizer.
There is nothing she would rather do than teach. But after supplementing her career with tutoring and proofreading, the university lecturer decided to go to remarkable lengths to make her career financially viable.
She first opted for her side gig during a particularly rough patch, several years ago, when her course load was suddenly cut in half and her income plunged, putting her on the brink of eviction. “In my mind I was like, I’ve had one-night stands, how bad can it be?” she said. “And it wasn’t that bad.”
The wry but weary-sounding middle-aged woman, who lives in a large US city and asked to remain anonymous to protect her reputation, is an adjunct instructor, meaning she is not a full-time faculty member at any one institution and strings together a living by teaching individual courses, in her case at multiple colleges.
“I feel committed to being the person who’s there to help millennials, the next generation, go on to become critical thinkers,” she said. “And I’m really good at it, and I really like it. And it’s heartbreaking to me it doesn’t pay what I feel it should.”
