Et Tu, Eyerainians? Iranian border forces fire rockets into Panjgur
rockets landed some 2 kilometres away from an FC check post
"Loud explosions rocked the entire Pak-Iran border area," Wasey said. He stated, however, that the FC personnel’s timely retaliation silenced the Iranian side and that there was no loss of life.
What retaliation?
The local administration lodged a protest with the Iranian authorities

As always, the fall out inflicts $$$Billions of damage on the paki HS&D. Karachi attack: Former intl cricketers refuse to play Ramazan matches
Following the terrorist attack at the Jinnah International Airport, former cricketers have refused to come to Karachi to play the Ramazan Cricket Tournament, DawnNews reported
most of whom have reportedly excused themselves from participating after the attack on Jinnah International Airport
The recent attack on the airport could roll back the entire process to bring cricket back in Pakistan
Don't worry, Sri Lankans will not renege.

Condom-nation for a condemned nation. Reckon, somebody just did from the Indian side. I am surprised that they didn't verify the underwear that the terrorists are / were wearing. Some VIP / Viking / other popular Indian brand will basically 'nail' it?

In any other country, an attack on an international airport would be considered a nightmare. http://forums.bharat-rakshak.com/viewto ... 6#p1669906 . This is not a normal country to do business with even if pakis pretend to be.

On the other hand, look at this Imtiaz Gul Paki in CNN giving a twist to this attack cleverly inserting India into this and doing equal equal
Some officials tie the TTP-led terror campaign to the proxy war that both Pakistan and India have been involved in for quite some time. Some Pakistanis accuse the TTP of being an Indian proxy, while among the Indian and Afghan establishments there are those who treat Afghanistan's Taliban, particularly the Haqqani Network, as Pakistani proxies.Often, Indian officials blame attacks on Indian interests on the Pakistani spy agency ISI, including the suicide strike at India's consulate in the western Afghan city of Herat last month.

Live: Efforts underway to rescue people trapped in Karachi airport cold storage
KARACHI: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for a brazen terrorist assault on Karachi airport’s old terminal. At least 28 people, including 12 terrorists, were reported dead in what is the first large-scale terrorist attack at the country’s largest airport in years.According to reports, eight ASF personnel, two Rangers officials, one police officer and three PIA officials are among the deceased. 26 people have been injured in the attack so far as well. The military had announced that the attack had come to an end early Monday morning, five hours after militants took siege of the airport. However, firing and blasts were heard from inside the airport hours after the announcement.Large plumes of smoke were seen rising from the runway area of the old airport (also known as the Hajj Terminal), as the airport shut down, passengers were evacuated and the flight schedule was suspended.

Paki Brigadier B*ll Sh*t as usual on Times telly tried to put the blame on India by alleging that though there was no doubt as to which faction of the Paki Taliban had done the deed, from their lairs in Afghanistan, from the captured arms and "syringes" (?),supposed to have been made in India,India which is active in Afghanistan was behind it all! Arnab G and other panellists almost peed in their pants in shock at hearing this tripe. The Brig bugger then started ranting and raving about Baluchistan. These jokers will never learn.Denial is the Paki military and ISI's middle name. This reminds me about a US ambassador to Pak,who in his farewell speech to the said that he "would puke,if he ever heard another Paki general mention to him the threat from India."

They are simply incorrigible. No matter what Sharif does,or what our PM does, bus trip, train trip, padayatra, whatever, the Paki establishment will betray the most genuine gesture of peace from the most sincere Indian leader.ABV was betrayed for his bus diplomacy and gifted Kargil. We must keep our fingers crossed and powder dry and remain alert for any similar mischief from this gang of Paki uniformed men,who might be tempted to do a "Musharrat".

Pakistani Taliban claim Karachi attack and leave peace talks in crisis
Airport battle lasted six hours and left 28 dead as any deal with militant group left in balance, after Islamabad vows retaliation
Jon Boone in Islamabad
The Guardian, Monday 9 June 2014

The Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for a brazen attack on Pakistan's busiest civilian airport by 10 heavily armed gunmen that is likely to dash hopes of a peace deal with the militant group.

On Sunday night, the sound of gunfire and explosions could be heard in Jinnah international airport in Karachi, with television pictures showing a fire blazing not far from parked aircraft.

The operation to clear the airport continued for six hours until dawn, with 28 people reported killed, including all the attackers. An army spokesman declared the armed response a success, saying the militants – who were wearing the uniforms of the airport security force (ASF) – "were confined to two areas and eliminated".

The attack leaves in tatters the government's year-long effort to use the prospect of peace talks to avoid a military confrontation with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The TTP's spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, said the talks had been a sham and that the attack was in revenge for the killing of Hakimullah Mehsud in November. The former TTP chief was killed by a CIA drone strike.

"Pakistan used peace talks as a tool of war. It killed hundreds of innocent tribal women and children. This is our first attack to avenge the death of Hakimullah Mehsud," he told Agence-France Presse. "We have yet to take revenge for the deaths of hundreds of innocent tribal women and children in Pakistani air strikes. It's just the beginning – we have taken revenge for one; we have to take revenge for hundreds."

In recent weeks the army has launched what it described as retaliatory air strikes and limited ground operations in North Waziristan, a tribal "agency" bordering Afghanistan that serves as an important sanctuary for the TTP.

The government had doggedly pressed on with peace talks efforts despite attacks continuing, even as government and TTP intermediaries began holding discussions earlier in the year. But the six-hour assault on the airport of Pakistan's economic hub is one of the most serious attacks the country has suffered for years.

It could provide the prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, with the political space he needs to back army demands for military operations in North Waziristan, a policy bitterly opposed by rightwing opposition parties, particularly Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). :rotfl:

"This act of terror is unforgivable," Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan's defence minister, said. "The state will give a fitting response to such cowardly acts of terror. :(( Those who plan and those who execute the terrorist attacks will be defeated."

The attack began shortly before midnight – a busy time for both domestic and international flights – when 10 men armed with assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades fought their way through two entrances to the airport. One group stormed a small terminal used for VIPs, including the prime minister and foreign dignitaries, while the other are thought to have entered through a gate used to get to a maintenance area. Security officials speculated that the group, which reportedly included suicide bombers, had hoped to hijack a plane but became pinned down before they were able to reach any aircraft.

The dead included eight ASF members, two officials from the paramilitary rangers, one police officer and three staff members from the state carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). Although the army announced the successful conclusion of the operation about five hours after the attack, firing and explosions could still be heard for some time afterwards.

Broken glass and spent gun magazines littered the engineering section, where the first exchange of gunfire took place as smoke from grenade attacks began to dissipate. "I heard fierce firing and then saw the terrorists firing at the security force … Thank God I am alive. This is very scary," said Sarmad Hussain, a PIA employee.

Syed Saim Rizvi, who was on a plane on the runway, tweeted: "Huge blast!!!! I do not know what's going on outside – heavy firing started again – full panic on board!"

Soon after the attack began the airport was closed to flights, sending inbound planes to other cities and creating panic inside fully fuelled aircraft stuck on the ground.

One of the country's best-known politicians, a senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), was on a plane that was taxiing in preparation for takeoff for London when the attack began. He said he frantically called senior contacts in the government, asking for the passengers to be allowed to disembark and go back into the airport. "It was a very close call, because we would have passed right past terminal one [where the fighting was taking place]," he said.

The attack is embarrassing to the government on several levels. It will once again highlight concerns that the country is unable to protect extremely sensitive targets from militant groups fighting against the Pakistani state. It comes just three years after the Mehran naval airbase, three miles from the airport, suffered a similar attack, when a team of militants killed 10 military personnel and destroyed two aircraft.

The group also carried out a raid on Pakistan's military headquarters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi in 2009, leaving 23 dead, including 11 service personnel and three hostages.

Security measures at the airport have been criticised in the past. The road passing through the outer perimeter of the main terminal is guarded by security forces armed with dowsing rods, similar to the fake bomb detectors sold around the world by British conman Jim McCormick, who was jailed for fraud last year. :rotfl:

The attack could also deal a huge blow to business confidence, which had begun to improve after the election of industrialist Nawaz Sharif as prime minister. :(( Sharif's faction of the Pakistan Muslim League is anxious to win back foreign investors, many of whom were scared away from the country by a sharp deterioration in internal security.

I am not sure why India bothers denying TTP/proxy war conspiracies. It is a waste of time. On the other hand the pakis will have to fight TTP in pakistan if they are a proxy, all this negotiation business will cceass.

Win/win for both Afghsnistan and India as far as I see. Provide moral and diplomatic support like the US does to Afghanistan and ignore the paki whinings. If Pakistan wants tto give up FATA along with POJK, fine with the rest of the world.

The only good way of dealing with this matter appears to be to ignore Paki whinings, keep quiet, and keep organizing chai biscuit.

That plane looks damagd. The Pakis are as usual lying about the damage. I am not sure why India cannot simply have people examine sat imags and state what everyone with sat images probably knows. The US may want to preserve Packee echendee but why are we doing that?

I think we are missing something. There were ten terrorists (or so they claim) and they were armed to the teeth and carrying RPGs (several), suicide vests, and food. They planned to fight a long battle. The airport is big and lots of hiding places and it is night. So how come the paki army known more for down hill skiing than fighting killed all the terrorists and cleared the airport in 5 hours flat? They even opened the airport in record time. How did they know they eliminated all the terrorists? May be they knew these terrorists were coming and exactly how many and were laying wait? TTP has a mole or this is an ISI false flag op?

According the minister the rangers were there in 7 minutes and the army was there in 10.

well one can know extent of damage..one has to only observe flight cancellations of PIA ( assuming it was PIA planes..) ... with so much firing, fires etc..not possible for no damage to have occured. a plane does not have to go up in flames to be classified as damaged...

Gents, we have to start doing better. It was obvious there was plenty of damage (there was smoke still in the morning), opening the airport ASAP while it was smoldering was done to let anythung firang and functional escape.

We also didnt grasp the chinese weapons that were due and did show up, event hints did not alert people. It was obvious the Zaid Hamids would spout the nonsense, but where is the "chinese weapons found" in either reporting or discussion. At least the media is coreecfly reporting the freedom fighters as militants, rather than terrorists. The event is still a terrorist attack in Ibdian press (by militants) compared to the reporting of usual skirmishes at LAC. Sigh.

We have to remove the anti-india exclusivity in the thinking here and think of pakistan as a wholesome and complete basket case for everyone to stay a step or two ahead of the events.

If you read Jagan's latest boot (Eagles over Bangladesh) - interviews of pilots reveal that they rarely knew exactly how much damage they had done on the ground let alone the number of men killed. This is a Paki bluff "15 men killed"

If you look at the image of the plane with engine blown off, you can see wires/cables hanging just under the port wing root seen on the R side of the pic. A hole has been blown through there.

The other pic from Facebook shows a PIA 747 with 10 cm holes. What would make round 10 cm holes???/
