Admission of state sponsored terrorism by Pakistani authorities

see this Der Spigel Interview where Musharraf admits to that.

On 7th Nov in TimesNow Channel, Tasneem Noorani, a former Secretary of the Pakistani Interior Ministry, openly said that.

Kiyani called the Haqqanis as strategic assets.

In Dec. 2008, President Zardari himself admitted to ISI helping LeT. He said,"The links between the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency and the LeT were developed in the old days when dictators used to run the country. After the 9/11 terror attacks in the US, things have changed to a great extent"

In an address to bureaucrats in July 2009, President Zardari said: "Militants and extremists were deliberately created and nurtured as a policy to achieve some short-term tactical objectives. Let us be truthful to ourselves and make a candid admission of the realities. The terrorists of today were the heroes of yesteryears until 9/11 occurred and they began to haunt us as well"

In Nov. 2009, Prime Minister Gilani admitted to the support for terrorism by Musharraf as "running with the hares and hunting with the hounds".

When Bush warned the Pakistanis in August 2008 of their support to Al Qaeda, Afrasiab Khattak, President of Awami National Party (ANP) said this: "The question is why it has taken the Americans so long to see what the ISI is doing. We’ve been telling them for years but they wouldn’t buy it.". See here.

In an interview to the BBC as far back as on Feb. 13, 1994, Benazir Bhutto admitted how she handed over to Rajiv Gandhi the complete list of Sikh activists colluding with the ISI in terrorism in the Punjab. Later, Nawaz Sharif described this interview as a faux pas.

Apart from these, of course, numerous Pakistani commentators, analysts, and editors have openly admitted to terror as a state policy.

Why Did Pakistan's Spy Chief Make a Secret Trip to China?
Quote:
Pasha's China trip has been interpreted by some as a tacit act of defiance—a reminder to his American counterparts that the Pakistanis can always look east to their “all-weather” friend across the Himalayas rather than bend the knee to the will of the U.S.

But it also may be a sign of China's growing disquiet with Pakistan. Another top-ranking Pakistani military officer, Lt. Gen Wahid Arshad, had already conducted a considerable tour of China just weeks ago in a bid to improve ties. A few analysts have suggested that Pasha's trip — couched in vague terms about building a “broad-based strategic dialogue” — may have been less a visit and more of a summons.

Quote:
Chinese officials claimed the attacks in Kashgar were authored by the shadowy East Turkestan Islamic Movement, a jihadist organization of mostly ethnic Uighurs, a Turkic Muslim minority that comprises the majority in the far-western Chinese region of Xinjiang. China routinely invokes the specter of the terrorist threat when cracking down on dissent in the restive region. Yet disturbances there tend to be triggered more often by social discontent — many Uighurs chafe at state policies they deem discriminatory and marginalizing — than militant connivance. Pasha's presence in Beijing may mark Beijing's continued efforts to root out Uighur dissidents and sympathizers beyond China's borders, as it has already done in Kazakhstan.

It is a good enough name, I used to crib back in the day that the TSP threads reach 72 in a monyhs time. I am still unhappy that the last one still took 4 months to reach 72. I will be happy when the TSP thread languishes at the bottom of forum and never reaches its 72.

It took four months to close the last thread (meet its 72, so to speak) for a reason. Used to be time when "42 killed in IED attack" would generate a page full of comments. Now that kind of "sun-sunny khabar" barely registers a glance or a smirk from the BRF die hards.

It seems EyeAssEye is sending out SMS to journalists asking them (more like warning them) to boycott Geo news and its papers. Btw, I hear this SMS thing from EyeAssEye is pretty common.

All these Pak journos are paper tigers onlee. They are falling over each other to pay tributes to EyeAssEye and GHQ.

So much for independent and vibrant media

The ROTFL thing is that Army has warned it will seek judicial remedy for false allegations by Hamid Mir .... while alleging that the Judiciary is biased, should not prosecute musharraf and the Army will protect its ech and dee from the judiciary at all costs.

There are two types of judiciary it seems. Good judiciary and bad judiciary.

I think only an Indian analyst can write an article about potential next Indian PM's Pakistan policy without words like "terror" or "26/11" at the same time talking about 2002 riots, fears of Pakistan, indirectly drawing equivalence between Indian Muslims and Pakistan etc.

Do Indian security agencies keep tabs on former establishment figures - i.e. if they "stray"? I mean, the revelations regarding armed forces brass in Siachen Track-420 and others (maybe even a respected scientist who came back with a shady looking Sankhya Vahini project)? By virtue of their past position if they push positions that seem to converge strongly with foreign positions..... something is wrong.

I mean, a Petraeus might criticize certain aspects of GOTUS's running of the war and might trade blows with Rummy, but you never see him with CAIR speaking about "The Root Cause of Middle East Terror - Jews in Palestine", right?

Yes. Whether they stray or not. How updated, etc., god only knows, but our counter-intel is supposed to be quite good. Stodgy and a bit "old-fashioned" perhaps, but steady and reliable. Open sources only.

Don't ask for links or references. I don't have it. It is what I gathered from reading quite a bit here and there. Robert Baer and Stephen Cohen come to mind.

There was a Hindu supreme court judge, Bhagwan Das or something. He probably was put out to pasture. Wonder what happened to that Sikh army officer who was trotted around in the paki press as a symbol of paki secularism? I came across the names of two Hindu doctors in the PA a couple of years ago.

anupmisra, Bhgwan Das retired several years ago, probably 2007 or thereabouts. There were two Sikhs, one in Lahore Police and another in the Army. Both were firsts in their respective positions. I assume the Sikh PA guy continues, at least there is no further news about him. The Lahore Sikh Police officer resigned from the job unable to manage the constant taunts and pressure to convert.

I checked. His name is Harcharan Singh and he joined PA as a 2ndLT in 2005 (clicky hiyar), that was nine years ago. He should be a captain by now, wouldn't you think? By the way, Singh was also asked to convert during his days at the PMA. Once again, clicky hiyar. Must be some kind of an obligatory thing a paki must do when he sees a non-muslim.

At the PMA, the callow, sensitive Sardarji was baffled to hear some ask him to convert to Islam

Maybe this should be in Benis

SP Aslam attack case declared solved

Describing the attack the police officer says:
The attack was carried out in an extremely skilled manner to hit the bull’s eye without a slight difference of inches… neither left nor right. The job was done in a very proficient way meeting international standard and trend of these kinds of assaults.”   :((

To assert his findings, he shared a few facts mentioned by the bomb disposal unit in its report. It showed that the attack had a range of 51 metres for ‘lethal air blast’ with ‘building evocation distance’ of 195 metres.

“Similarly, the attack caused falling glass hazard within a range of 838 metres and outdoor evocation distance was 838 metres. If one goes through the findings of major bomb attacks across the globe more or less the same damage was reported with key features of bombing remain the same,” added the official.

This paki is proud that a terrorist act meets "international standards"? wtf. The damn standard is set in Pakistan.

Even PM Shariff does not seem to believe in these. There was one video where he tried to mouth these cliches but could not and his brother had help him out!

Yes, that was in China on his first trip after assuming PMship. And, the expression on Nawaz's face betrayed his own belief in such fake words & phrases. My question was whether the people of Pakistan (I think the Chinese do not care) believe in these words like the Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai facade?

Slipper with sacred symbol of 'OM' sold in Sindh markets

Chappals (slippers) with the symbol of 'OM' were found being sold in one of the markets of Pakistan, it was reported by news media.

India Today, a news website said 'Om' or 'Aum' is of paramount importance in Hinduism.

According to Wikipedia, it is a mantra and mystical Sanskrit sound of Hindu origin which is sacred and important in various Dharmic religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sanatana Dharma and Jainism. .

The chapplas with 'Om' sign were discovered being sold in the town of Mirpur in Sindh Provence where a large number of Hindu population resides.

While many journalist in Pakistan have condemned the circulation of shoes with Hinduism’s most sacred mantra, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which politically controls Sindh, immediately attempted to shift the blame.

PPP claimed the shoes were likely manufactured in the Punjab province and demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif immediately order sealing of the concerned factory.

PPP further wanted a stop on "manufacturing of such disgraceful products and strong action against the culprits."

There were no reports of independent confirmation that shoes were manufactured in the Punjab. Karachi also serves as a significant manufacturing hub for Pakistani products.

^ Should not all these people wearing or selling or manufacturing such chappals be booked under the famous blasphemy law and be declared wajib-ul-Qatal or atleast be hanged from their neck?
Let Pakis follow the own law and Sharia and bring these culprits to book..
